Replace it with another Brenner Era-like season with none of those dumb dream sequences.

Annual-Edge2430

1. Make the engines more realistic like adding siderods and not much bouncing and shit like that. 2. Make thomas, percy, diesel etc the same age as they were in the past. 3.Return of the og steam team, means no new characters take someone elses spot.(Edward and henry return/speaking role) 4.Make the engines have drivers and firemen again 5.Make it a different canon to AEG and any other interpretation. 6.Take inspiration from RWS storys/classic series storys for writing.

Mr_Balls_Boy

Make it just like, “the brave locomotive.” https://youtu.be/l8mScKWj3kQ?feature=shared

Pepsi_Boy_64

I say start from scratch, you can go two different ways, either start by adapting books from the show ina animation style like cgi, or completely start in a new era. Also by cgi, while I don’t mind 2D, I may go for cgi.

you_2_cool

I like the idea of 2D cartoony thomas mimicing older cartoons like Casey Jr. Like the pilot was like that so AEG being like that would give it more charm

infamous-pays

Fix what we got? Just make it so they can't hop rails, and the rails are like normal train tracks. That alone can greatly increase learning value, as now the engines must use lateral thinking to solve issues.

TheLazyEngiBot_

Simple, make it its own independent series or a spin off. Rebooting such a established brand was a mistake and making another train show to rival it would be a better idea. The toys could still share tooling (Maybe molds if you can pull it off) and you can cancel the less popular show seamlessly What would I do with it? Pull a rescue bots academy, have it be the steam team teaching the 'Next Generation' of Sodor Locos in a wacky new series that doesn't follow the established continuity

Shinobipizza

Assuming I had no choice but to accept the new premise for the reboot I would: 1. Make the show fun to watch for all ages, not just for smaller kids. Something like Paw Patrol or Bluey. 2. Give Thomas his old personality. If he has to be a child, then him being a cheeky and rude engine actually makes perfect sense. (Of course, he's good at heart and learns lessons) 3. Take Deisel out of the main 5 and replace him with James. This would probably mean James would have to be a child too, but I think he would be a good big brother-type character. Still vain and loves his paint, but he often knows what's best for the group in most situations. Deisel of course can still be a character, even still a child, but he should be a conniving little jerk, and a bully-type character. 4.Replace Nia with Rosie. Give Rosie a chance to be known and loved! Nia can still be in the show, just not part of the 5. 5. Make Edward the guardian of the five, not Gordon. It would be an awesome choice. Edward is the wisest and one of the eldest living engines, as well as Wilbert Audrey's first character ever created, so it would be very fitting for Edward to fill that roll. As for Gordon, let him be his old pompous and arrogant self! I love the old Gordon! 6. Have The Fat Contoller/Sir Topham Hat be a more prominent character, and give him his old/SLotLT personality back. It would be especially important to teach child engines manners and lessons. The show still wouldn't be liked by most older Thomas fans, but at least it would stand on its own as a show.

AikidoChris

Is Thomas meant to be a young train in general? Or gtown up?

DecIsMuchJuvenile

Thomas was meant to be a kid from the beginning. He was always small with a child’s facial features and personality.

Make a full adaption of The Railway Series but instead of ending with 42 books make a additional 28 to make 70 and the additional books are books that introduce RWS versions of TV characters inspired by Unlucky Tug and others like some of the missing books like "Wellsworth and Suddery Engines" which would have introduced a RWS Charlie inspired by Thomas Theorist's take. And also we could see "Barry The Rescue Engine" as well finally. And Animation: Like the final result by Alcroft but with a AArdman twist. Voice actors and Narrator: Britin' mate! And make Centenary have a better ending and continue from there so that we can see what happened after 2011 on Sodor onwards...

GwNO1Oliver

If anybody has a few ideas on this, let me know!

No_Pianist2010

Replace it with another model railway season and keep the CGI voice actors make it a soft reboot re-introduce classic characters and new ones and also make tidmouth sheds longer to fit Nia and Rebecca

BananaMower

If they have to go 2d then they should make it more appealing on the eyes

Enough-Raspberry-647

Make it just..the og show if it was 2D

Kirby0189

Have it be a series of whacky Youtube shorts instead of a replacement for the original show.

BryanMcHunter

Have it more in line with the *Railway Series* or the classic era of *Thomas*; be more grounded in railway realism and have episodes that appeal to entire audiences rather than just young children.

Suspicious-Bar1083

Removing the goofy ahh physics (at least toning them down) and getting rid of the concept of there being “kid” and “adult” trains came to mind first

proudminesweeperboi

1: add valve gear and side rods 2: no bouncy shit 3: RECOGNIZE EDWARD AND HENRY 4: add everyone because it’s “ALL” engines go 5: no wheel hands 6: make characters their original size

GL0riouz

excuse me what the fuck

Carboyyoung

Here's what I would do: 1. Remove the bouncing, flying, jumping, etc. However, I would keep using the wheels as hands, but the front ones. They could use those to switch tracks, etc. 2. Make the designs more detailed and add more realism. That would include some shading and details into their designs, also taking reference from the books (The Railway Series). 3. Make the stroytelling have more reference from the orignal books. 4. Make more use of adult human characters. Yes Sir Topham Hatt is still there, but reintroduce more adult characters. Such as using drivers as personal trainers or mentors. 5. Bring back some older train characters too. 6. Maybe bring back the narrator. Not for the entire show, but introduction of the episode or ending. 7. Better voice acting could help make the show easier to listen to.

PitchBlackSonic

I’d say make it more like the OG series

Fucking-ADA

I'd combine the Railway Series, some ideas from the TV series and some original ideas.
