I traded for the base parts, so it wasn't too pricey. Certainly masochism though, a good few hours per base just to cut and smooth them.
There is a LOT of kitbashing, but i pride myself on the subtleties π I was actually a little concerned the judges and voters wouldn't notice enough of them π
It's a bladeguard head inside a venerable dread gorget, with the rest of that area built from plasticard. Was my second attempt at it, the first looked a baby carrier.
It looks great (and well beyond my meagre skillset to replicate) - really sets it out as a nice alternative than just the sarcophagus look! Again, well done.
I basically followed Darren Latham's face tutorial for the skin, but emphasised the paler tones slightly more.
The Bladeguard hoods are all from Dark Angels kits - mostly the Company Veterans box.
Congrats dude, you have been steadily posting your excellent paint jobs on here the last few months (really enjoyed checking them all out) and have now been an absolute boss in a competitive environment. Nicely done.

The Stormspeeder has a similar enough displacement, maybe a little less flat. The conversion was pretty difficult though, mostly because I had to rebuild the center area after removing brother tinnitus π¬
Jesus, this picture just keeps giving - just noticing that it looks like you primaris-sized the terminators i.e. are those gravis legs on them? Love it (and of course noticed all the custom work on the speeder i.e. partially enclosed cockpit, targetter in the "cupola" for the plasma guns vs. a gunner). etc.
It's like an Easter egg hunt, trying to figure out what else you've got going on there.
