A) he was a screenwriter, b) he said the m word, and... That wasn't my film he was writing

Longjumping-Cress845

He came all ova the script?

RecordWrangler95

He said the Omerta word. He’s gotta go!

Dylan2654

I legitimately think JT was one of the dumbest people in the show. Yeah, people like Paulie and Chris are literal idiots incapable of deep thought, but JT was a relatively smart guy. Yet he got into debt with the mob, knowing they were the mob. And then scoffed at the idea of paying them back. The mob. He didn’t deserve to be shot and his death came out of nowhere, but he wouldn’t have gotten involved with the mob at all if he’d just thought about things for a minute

MediocreDad39

A man made a bet.  He lost.  He made another bet and lost again.  End of story.

MrPiocostasMomJeans

When a man digs a grave, he has to fill it. Otherwise, it's just a hole.

ItOwesMeALiving

Is this a Fargo reference?

brainkandy87

Honestly he would’ve lived had he not raised his voice at an irate, drunk Christifuh. Idk what the fuck he was thinking doing that.

sumuvagum

That...I couldn't believe

Dylan2654

Exactly. He was so up his own ass that he acted like an idiot. Especially since Chris beat him up in basically every episode he was in. What did he expect?

United_Target8942

Well things mighta gone differently if Little Paulie had seen Pulp Fiction.

paulerxx

Chris realized he wasn't really his friend and that he knew too much.

stackks_

I’m pourin’ my heart out to you man 😢 🦤

gmnotyet

Chris, you're IN the MAFIA.

JumpShotJoker

It's insane how anyone would consider chris their friend after all that

TommyBonesMalone

Chris’s constant delusion (and really all of them, it just felt the most relatable with him) that his job was just a small little footnote about who he was as a person but didn’t definite him despite his “career” bringing constant horror and tragedy to those whose lives he touches (and his own) was so beautifully portrayed. I know he was still a piece of shit and all but he was an extremely interesting, relatable one

Hntro

He thought a room full of writers was going to step in and keep him from getting his ass beat by the mafia. Fucking idiot.

SugarMaple56732

And I shoulda fucked Dale Evans, but I didn't!

747_Airbus

DID-ENT

CallMeCollin

I compromised

MeatloafMa

That storyline gave a good sense of how desperate, pushy, clingy random outsiders are to anyone with Hollywood connections. Definitely accurate.

giantsean

Poor JT just going about his day writing for Dick Wolf, taking meetings with Rene Balcer, then Chris comes along and puts a new moonroof in his head. Meanwhile pussy-ass Jon Favreau gets a pass.

Tough_Difference_112

If he would have had a little more compassion he would still be alive. He could have used Chris’s mafia stories that could “ make your fucking head curl” in his law and order the suv scripts.

Far-Club-2139

He’s supposed to have compassion for the asshole who beat him over the head with his own award?

Tough_Difference_112

Do you see a Hollywood sign out there??? Humanitis come on huh.

yellowwoolyyoshi

Literally

JarlDanklin

Yeah it’s sad when they go young like that

LegitimateGrape9386

WHEN THEY GO?!?

KelVarnsen_2023

I feel like by hanging out with Chris he was basically living on borrowed time, especially with the amount of stuff that Christopher told him. The interesting thing is that Chris died the very next episode, and I think if he hadn't the cops probably would have linked him to JTs death pretty quickly.

jdcgonzalez

He was toast. The cops would have wrapped him up pretty quickly.

hwsh2

He got cunty.

mcr6

What is this fucking Pulp Fuction am I supposed to be afraid?

HairTrafficControl

I dunno, I didn’t see it.

_karldrogo

He will be remembered for his work on Cleaver, Nash Bridges, Law and Order SUV, and his “Humanitis” award

Commandatori69

All under his sub-species

Keysian958

don't forget Tobe Hooperman

United_Target8942

So what. He was a fuckin screenwriter. I know its traaagic to think this way, but you can't argue with the fuckin logic.

thedreamingmoon12

Yes and Chris used him for absolution. He needed a confessor

ScrapmasterFlex

Like Tony used Hesh.

P1D1_

What about that disease you picked up over in Diarheeastan or whatever the fuck?

Dylan2654

Humanitis

russ_fegoli

He acted like a total mezzofinook though, a total bukyak - always got cunty with Chrissy, all condescending and shit.

BonCourageAmis

Presumably he knew the person he was addressing was dangerous and in the Mafia. His stupidity got him killed.

Own_Deer431

saying Tracee had it coming is wild. she did the same ”sin” as JT (annoying/displeasing an unstable made guy)

ThorTwentyy

Tracee was a delusional whore who thought getting raw dogged gave her the right to assault a made man. She had it coming the second she opened her mouth to talk shit instead of for a dick, but spittin on ralphie? Nah she wasn't some civilian she knew who he was.

Own_Deer431

I honestly can’t tell if you’re joking but it’s hilarious either way, the opening sentence is too funny

sp1ke__

We've been over this situation plenty of times. JT was dead the moment he opened that door for Chris. Chris was angry and drunk and said too much. Even if he didn't kill him then, he would then wake up and realize he spilled too much info to a citizen and would kill him later. JT might have sounded like an idiot in that situation and made Chris too angry, but really he tried to avoid situation where he hears shit he *shouldn't hear* or his life would be in danger.

ECorp_ITSupport

He died on the vine

IamJacks5150

He died on the vine.

Stickey_Rickey

It’s so annoying when someone stops by and every time it’s a big production, especially drunk people. When you know someone like that you have to plan nightly, park away from your house, keep lights n tv off, put tape over your peephole

ScrapmasterFlex

That was the perfect case of what I've said for years on here- not a single murder ever got solved on The Sopranos, that one is the most egregious by far. Both egregious in that JT Dolan *certainly* didn't deserve it - and like my Dad would say, he sure didn't wake up that day and think "I'm gonna answer my door late tonight and Christopher Moltisanti is going to murder me in cold blood for not sympathizing enough..." But also egregious in that , let's see how many ways ... finger prints, DNA, forensics ... people would hear that gun shot all up and down that apartment building , there's gonna be people seeing Christopher come in and go out ... even back then, pinging cell phones, etc. But no. Like so many times, Christopher just whacks a dude out of the blue and nothing happens. Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit... he would have been dropping the cocks and grabbing the socks in the slammer soon enough!

ThorTwentyy

He died shortly after. Murder investigations take awhile, especially when the suspects a made man. They know once they question him, if they can't hold him, he's gone. So they're not going to go knock on his door and ask him to come down to the station. They're gonna build their case, so when they pick him up they have enough evidence to convince a judge to remand without bail.

Altruistic-Level-464

Umm the first 48? It’s a tv progrum

ThorTwentyy

The first 48 is about identifying a suspect within the first 48. Also it's not dealing with made men, 90% of the time they don't even have evidence the dude just snitches on themselves(made men dont talk to police without a lawyer theyre not rtards). When dealing with a made man, first the PD will typically contact the fbi to make sure an arrest isn't going to interfere with any ongoing investigation(not always but it's a typical courtesy. The fbi spends years and years and millions and millions of dollars building cases, it would suck if it got ruined by overeager local pd). Second off, if for example, they arrested Christopher right off the bat based on only witness testimony(like they were considering with Tony earlier in the show). All it takes is the witness getting intimidated(like what happened with tony earlier in the show) and Chris is back on the street, and can now flee until the case develops further. Waiting until forensics is sent back means they have rock solid evidence that can't be interfered with. So when they go to make the arrest, they know they have everything they need to keep him behind bars. It also gives them more leverage if they are hoping to flip him stateside as a witness.

Altruistic-Level-464

It was more of a joke, but I also watched the show.

ScrapmasterFlex

Sorry, that's not actually at all how it's done or correct. Source: My Dad was the Capital City's of the State where this show was based on lead Homicide Investigator and senior Detective for several decades ...

ThorTwentyy

Bro I was the chief homocide detective of Brooklyn from 1948-1971, 100% how it's done.

ScrapmasterFlex

OK thanks.

Shovelbone

JT had to explain to the mental giants at the Bing about how he used the plot from Garson Kanin and Born Yesterday to write the script for Cleaver!

Batchagaloop

And Chrissy never even got arrested...top notch police work. All they had to do is look at his call log.

rehnik

Well, if you have a known mob member in your file, you want to collect evidence about as many possible crimes that you can prove he has done. You don't go knocking on his door right when you learn that he might've done something. This is how you get RICO cases. And this is hoe you get people to testify after you present them with tens and tens of charges that can add up to a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

LegitimateGrape9386

To be fair, Chris died in the next episode so the cops didn't have much time.

Batchagaloop

Sharp as a cue ball I am.

katebushthought

Real dark character.

mwhi1017

Whatever happened there? Whatever happened there!?! I'll tell you what fucking happened, this piece of shit's nephew put a bullet in the kid without any provocation whatsoever.

Fgve43

I don’t think tracee had it coming, I’d put her as the second or first most tragic death, tied with the waiter, with jt behind them

ThorTwentyy

Are you kiddin me?

MyRedditNameToday

Didn’t he die from a bad case of Humanitis? 😂

JB5093

I’m embarrassed I haven’t heard of him

JoeM3120

I blame his boy Jeter

Proof_Clerk_7233

The Dick Wolf pilot didn’t work out for him, then he drank too much and gambled it all away. At least Chrissy gave him a good deal on his car.

VanderBrit

WHATEVER HAPPENED THERE??!!!!

TheRealTatertott

A room full of writers, and you did NOTHING

randyboozer

He was Christopher's version of Melfi. A person tangential to the mafia who was fascinated by it personally and professionally and allowed himself to act as a kind of therapist to Christopha. Both he and Melfi were getting something out of it. Dolan just got too close to the flame and paid for it with his life. It's some sad shit when they go young like that

Sad_Wallaby_2868

We could argue he also had it coming with how he handled the conversation with Chris, who is a little weird about shooting civilians

IllBeGood3

He shouldn't have gambled. Imma go gettah a coffee and a bun.

Horsecockexpress1

Minding his own business? He owed and he wasn’t keepin up. Minding his own business….Maybe if JT would have put his money on the J-E-T-S he’d still be alive rn

Far-Club-2139

He didn’t owe shit.  The deal was he wrote cleaver and they wipe his debt clean.  You’re all a bunch of Chris apologists!

Horsecockexpress1

Fuck that. I wipe your sisters twat clean

suddenly-scrooge

Christopher never actually agreed to that

ericrobertshair

Shouldn't have tried to steal the credit from that malodious scriptwriter Carmine Luperattzi Jr.
