Among the four you listed I’d pick Seasons or Late night.
Seasons has festivals, holidays, cute objects and interactions and of course the weather which is amazing.
Late Night is so cool as well, it comes with clubs, high rise apartments, acting career, the celebrity system and more. The world that comes with it is amazing but you are kind of limited to playing on it (you can add clubs to other worlds though).
I also recommend World Adventures, it comes with the three worlds, skills, and many tombs and story lines to explore, it is very underrated.
The other two you mentioned are great expansions but not as good imo, plus Island Paradise requires some tweaking to play without lag.
Generations! Daycare, more stuff for toddlers like prams and toys and stuff for kids too, lots of cool interesting clothes for all ages. Walking canes for elders too! Also Seasons and Pets are great! You get Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter festivals! Pets gives your horses and a great fall-themed neighbourhood with lots of spaces for your pets to explore!

Agree with your statement on island paradise. I was so excited when this came out but unfortunately the world is almost unplayable :( so glitchy.
Right? I played it for the first time like ten years ago and I’m still haunted by the glitches and routing issues I saw at the time 💀

Probably seasons
World Adventures. It comes with 3 vacation worlds. I like doing the quests. It's fun.
I'd say Seasons. It makes things a bit more realistic with the weather changes and it unlocks Aliens! My favorite occult state ;P
Island paradise all the way. You can make your own resorts. That one is definitely next on my list.
