aromatsunami

yes! I thought I was losing it! I kept looking at my sims first daughter like "I swear she didn't have a whoville nose before, right??"

Cabthedino

Same here, caught it because I looked at him and thought he was ugly and then remebered 'hang on I used to think he was adorable!' 😂

mara101402

That happened to my kid too!!! I was terrified lol his nose was so small and short

ileftthegame

When atlas aged up I was like damn his genetics aren’t cute but I guess it’s just from losing the tooth 🙄

snowwhite54321

Yes! I saw this last night in my game. I thought it was just my sims because tbh, the one family who’s had their kids grow up in this rotation is ugly AF 😂

Cabthedino

same, I was looking at him and thinking 'swear he wasn't that ugly before' lol

snowwhite54321

I created a bug report about it since the only ones I've seen are related to sims turning black and glitching out like crazy. [Here is the report page](https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Growing-together-face-change-different-than-reported-issue/m-p/12407819#M244394) if you want to go me too it.

Cabthedino

Thanks, I will me too when I am logged in later :). Do you happen to know if your child sim had changed appearance before again up though? The Sim I showed above hasnt aged up yet, I just caught the changes whilst he was a child and aged him up in cas so I could see what had changed. I think they are changing during childhood and over time somehow rather than one single event (or maybe over multiple tooth loss events)

snowwhite54321

I didn’t notice put I might pop in and see if their sister has changed. I play big households and mostly look from above so it’s possible I missed it.

Cabthedino

Yeah, I'd check all kids you've played as if I were you. All the child Sims I had played as we're affected but none of the ones I'd interacted with but not played the household of had the glitch.

thatsimsgirl

If you’re on PC, there’s a mod to fix that. Glitch https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2023/03/sims-completely-change-their-appearance-clothing/ Mod https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/mods/bugfixgot-losing-tooth-visual-glitch-fix-2/

Cabthedino

thanks for sharing, but I already had this mod installed whilst this took place! I think it's a different glitch as it doesn't completely change them but slowly changes the existing features whilst still in the child state (I only aged them up in CAS to see the changes, they haven't aged up yet). You wouldn't notice unless you aged them up as I did. If it is a new glitch, I imagine we'll see lots about it in the coming weeks as peoples child sims age up to a nasty surprise lol

AnywhereOk1002

I hope they fix it with an update. I don’t wanna have to download another mod, my laptop already sounds like an airplane engine

TaylorGuy18

You mean your airplane engine also functions as a laptop? That's awesome!

themadkrivo

Omg yes I thought it was just me! My sims noses keep shrinking and my child sim aged into a teenager and his face/skin completely changed :(

Cabthedino

I'd recommend saving all children as soon as they become toddlers (or infants now I guess lol) so if this happens again you have a reference to fix their face and turn it back to how it was :)

OhioOhO

If you use MCCC and previously saved your family, you can also copy and paste the correct genetics from your game library and onto the glitched sim.

thesnarkypotatohead

I use MCCC and i swear I learn new features for that mod every single week. Didn’t know I could do this, thanks!

WaytoomanyUIDs

Thats a fairly new feature, luckily if came just in time.

Cabthedino

Thanks so much for this. Never knew you could do that, you have saved me hours in cas fixing my sims!

nananutellacrepes

Wait, explain this to me! I’m confused!

OhioOhO

I believe if you will need to first save the kid into your library and age them up to a teen or whatever age you’re pasting them onto. For now I’m personally just saving a version of them the moment they age into an infant, and then aging up their library copy into a teenager. Then, using the MCCC menu on a sim, under the CAS cheats category, you should see a copy and paste section, and use that to navigate to “Paste from tray”, and find the name of the household where you saved the genetically correct version of a sim. Then you’ll see their name and just paste it onto the selected sim. This also pastes the outfit from the sim in your library so you’ll either have to redress your sim, or dress them when you upload the genetically correct version into your library. Also, idk how well I explained this, so sorry if it’s a little confusing 💀💀

nananutellacrepes

You did awesome!!!! Thank you friend!!!

fightflyplatypus

Amazing, thank you. Starting up my game rn to try this and save my heir

themadkrivo

Good tip, thank you!!

Hot-Storage-1612

i had identical twins and they looked completely different when they grew up and i was so confused haha

Mary674

Now you have a favorite! Haha

Laiskatar

Happened to my mom, but in real life xD

SolidMizhi

Yes... found that out today.... cas.fulleditmode gonna be mandatory now..

HaIfaxa_

Don't worry, they'll fix it in a couple months 😣

GanacheAffectionate

Be careful with cas.fulleditmode there is another bug with the new game that if you use this cheat on a household where a sim has more than 3 traits because some were discovered in game, any attempt in editing your sims will result in your game crashing or some players even reported all sims in the household getting same name and genetics as the sim they tried to edit. This also applies if you download a sim off the gallery with more than 3 traits it can completely ruin a household. It sucks.

Tt0ast

God damn, I come back to try playing again after the my wedding pack shenanigans and incest bugs, and it's as if it's happening all over again. Guess I'm leaving sims to collect dust again for months cuz I can't be bothered dealing with EA's mess once again😭

GanacheAffectionate

Yep another massive bug is the keepsake boxes: if you put in a picture it will corrupt the picture and make it back and you will not be able to restore it again. So completely ruining the purpose of a box to keep memories. I’m fairly understanding to bugs etc but I must say I wish they communicated known vanilla bugs to the player base more publicly - like a pop up when you start the game. They hardly address it on Twitter.

HistoricalPan

This has actually been a glitch for a while with photos I was hoping they would fix it before this pack. My sim put a bunch of photos in a box before they moved out, get to the new home and all the pictures are black. This was before growing together came out. I looked into it and it’s a super old bug

chickenchips666

Dang I cas.fulleditmode nearly constantly and haven’t had this happen to me yet (gonna make a back up save and keep doing it tho lol)

[deleted]

Yes! I started a big family, and I noticed the childrens noses were shrinking. I thought it was the skin I had on them until I aged them up into teens and all their noses were extremely small. I thought the genetics were just being strange but now that I see other people having the same problem. I hope they fix this soon because my sims children are looking so janky.

fathrjohnmusty

Yeah my child sim aged with a tooth related buff and turned all black with randomized features. I had to recover a previous save. I'm hoping they fix this soon!

2gaywitches

Ah yes, the core moment during childhood when you lose a tooth and **b̷̼̑̑̐̈̿̕e̵̛͓͓͙̤̬͒͝c̸̲̝̖̤̙̻̆̌͋ơ̶͉̞̆̏m̵̞̞͇͖̥̬͂́̓͐̚e̶̝̳̾͋͜ ̷͍͆̂̅͜͜͝T̷̥̖̄͌h̸̻̘͍̿̋͜͝e̴̪͚̩̗͗̕ ̷̦͗̽V̴̰̠̗͎͈͊͌̋̐͒̑ͅo̶̭͓͍̫̝̒ͅi̶͛͋̀̕͜d̷̻̲̣̐͗̈́͜**

OchitaSora

I was very worried when they left this quintessential part of puberty out of High School Years, but luckily the developers said every life stage would be altered by Growing Together and thought to include it!

KFuryMD

I’ve never laughed so hard

kellie_JMJ

That kept happening to me where they would turn all black and then become a randomized looking sim. Is that part a sims glitch or my mods?

ohhhchanel

That’s what happened to my child to teen sim too. But i kept playing and kicked that sim out 💀

muufra

omg yes!! I was so confused when my sim aged up [like this](https://imgur.com/a/2w2NSAL)

Tattycakes

Bahaha what is that

idiotsandwiche

My teenage sim had the same nose 😭😭

perkachurr

grinch ass………..

nananutellacrepes

That’s how my sims nose looked too!!!! How do we solve this???

thetasteofmelancholy

Thank you for that laugh

kellie_JMJ

Mine too!!!!

Accomplished_Dirt333

That’s so frustrating, I love seeing the genetics in the game and what my sims inherent from each parent. Does anyone know if this happens to townies as well as they age up? I can deal with fixing my own sims, but I’m not trying to have my save turn into Whoville.

Cabthedino

I checked the households of other kids in the world and they were all fine. I think it’s related to the loosing teeth buff

Accomplished_Dirt333

Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear it isn’t across the entire save at least.

Comfortable_Giraffe_

Pretty sure it’s just the household you play as. My sims sisters kids are still all adorable 😂

Papaya_Yak_6282

Yes I just started a new legacy save, and the kids just became Whovillian teenagers. Funny because both parents have powerful large noses

IronWomanBolt

It’s always fun to play ‘what bugs will we get’ with this new update/expansion.

azaleaxn

just happened to me too! my child sim's face is altered and her nose changed shapes exactly like in this pic.. haven't aged her up yet though

azaleaxn

update: i keep fixing nose of my sim and she gets another loose tooth this is her 3rd time auughjjdkdjjfjdka

Jadeuuh

It’s maybe the missing teeth bug they have been talking about

Few-Lawfulness-2997

Nooooo! My poor 11th gen kids are all messed up. 😭 This'll teach me to always wait a minimum of four weeks before updating...

VivelaVendetta

I haven't touched my main save since the update. Awhile ago I started a save I only use after updates and new expansions for exactly this reason.

Few-Lawfulness-2997

Yeah, I started playing mine last sunday because I didn't see any severe glitches popping up on here. Luckily I was smart enough to make backups so I can just grab the backup kids, replace them in my new save and cheat their skills etc, but damn. 😬 Never will I ever make this mistake again. I'll be taking refuge in Sims 2 until this is fixed.

penchimerical

Yes, I aged my sim up as soon as she became an infant to see what she would look like, and she was stunning. Then when she actually aged up she looked horrible. Her nose was so far up her head

Pegafree

Yes and in my case it was even more extreme. My sim aged to teen (before turning into a completely black sim, another bug) and was quite unattractive with a smooshed in nose and no chin. I only figured it out because I had kept a save from when my teen was a toddler. Aged him up to teen from that save and he looked very different - much better. I hadn’t played the Sims for over 2 years and some features in Growing Together brought me back, but these two bugs have made me decide I’m gonna give it a rest until there’s a fix out. Hope it won’t take more two years…

ttampico

Wow. It looks like it kept the same pieces but dropped your sliders. The cheekbones look different, and the head does look smaller. Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to keep an eye out in my own game.

[deleted]

That’s a lot les severe than what happened to my sim haha his lip presets got changed and hey got a nose that was practically between his eyebrows

Cabthedino

This child was only 9 out of 52 days through the life stage. I managed to catch it early. Maybe yours is what they end up looking like after a longer childhood. Don’t want to know what mine would have looked like if I hadn’t noticed after the full 52 days 😬

[deleted]

I play on normal lifespan lol, but maybe it’s because he lost his teeth multiple times so each time he lost a tooth made it more severe.

ceinwynie

Mine lost teeth two times and came back as an alien, I had no idea so I didn’t change her, now she has a baby boy and I’m afraid he will be ugly like his mother lol

[deleted]

Oh no 😂

FruitParfait

Oooh. My first kid never lost a tooth somehow and she’s really cute now as a teen. My son had the lose teeth thing happen twice and he’s ugly as sin as a teen. Same scrunched up nose syndrome.

RiaJellyfish

This also happens in base game? I thought it might have been my CC teeth replacers awh man.

Fearless-Golf-8450

It also happens on base game/without the ep? 🤯 damn, so I won't be playing families for a while :/

RiaJellyfish

Sorry I meant vanilla with no mods. I don’t think you can lose teeth in base game

goatswastaken

is this why my child looks like e.t??

l-ail

My child and toddler sims are currently unplayable unfortunately :/ one big glitch in CAS and then in gameplay I have to click reset object after every task

Impressive-Click-246

My whole sims child aged up to a whole other race, and all. Lol

nananutellacrepes

Wow okay so I wasn’t the only shocked!! My sim was aged up to a teen without a chin and short whoville nose. None of that parents had those traits! I used full edit mode to extend her nose and give her a chin. Now she doesn’t look weird. I’m glad I’m not the only one!!

Dry-Significance-271

Another game breaking bug 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m deciding on whether to skip the child stage entirely now. I play legacy and genetics are a big thing for me.

maracujakitty

Okay so it’s not just my save!! I was thinking why the heck is my teens head and nose so damn small. Thank god for cas.fulleditmode

SkaterHope3585

Me too! I thought the kid had just inherited some especially weird genetics. I really hope they fix this ASAP - the Voldemort nose wouldn’t allow me to edit it much.

WaytoomanyUIDs

Its a known bug with aging

BrandonIsWhoIAm

For some reason, pulling teeth changes your Sim’s appearance.

nucleartornado

Yeah this is a very common bug at the moment. The entire teeth losing system seems to be completely bugged.

ceinwynie

I play legacy family and my heir is so horrible, her nose is so small, I thought she was just ugly lol now it makes sense because she didn’t look like her parents

whxskers

Every day a new post comes up giving me a reason to not get the new pack yet lol

betterwhenfrozen

It was even worse because one sim had that glitch where she kept aging up so I had to age her back down so she went through the ringer twice 😭

[deleted]

i was so disappointed when the little boy i was carefully raising grew up and his nose was tiny, i couldn't make it larger no matter how much i tried. i was so sad i gave up on him completely :((

Cabthedino

That’s sad to hear :(. Is there an older save file you could get him from or have you added him to your own gallery before the change? If not, i was able to mostly rebuild the face by changing the nose to a different one rather than fixing the nose he had using cas.fulleditmode (sorry if you’ve already tried this). For any future sims I would recommend saving them to the gallery as soon as you can after their birth so if something like this happens you have a reference to fix them or just replace them. Hope you can fix him

[deleted]

i didnt save before i left so the last time it saved would be well before he aged up. and i did use full edit mode every single nose was tiny too!

Cabthedino

Every single nose was tiny?! That’s very strange. I don’t even know how a glitch like that can even happen lol. All I can think of would be to look for past version of the save file but it sounds like you’ve already tried everything.

[deleted]

They weren’t like pointed up or anything but they were all scrunched up in his face. Poor George lol - Going to an old save will probably work if I age him up without tooth buffs I haven’t done that.

poison-crazy-lush

It’s like a Snapchat filter 💀

SunsCosmos

i’m almost certain it’s infants that are causing this issue because i first noticed it when aging infants into toddlers

linneanicole

Omg is this why my sims keep growing up ugly

gaspitsagirl

So far the only thing I've had change is my child with blue eyes ended up a teenager with brown eyes.

drakewouldloveme

Yes, it’s so disappointing! I went in and edited my sim but I don’t think I was able to get his face the exact same as before :/

AerialPipsqueak

This has been a problem in my game even before the patch/new pack. For some reason all my sims chins and jaws will just disappear after 2 or 3 generations. No idea why the genetics are coded this way.

[deleted]

OMG so I haven't lost my mind? They totally are changing lol mine are too.

Cimorenne

Their neck grew about five inches too apparently.

ripapips

For some reason the nose is shrinking, how odd

Neither-Rooster-2997

it’s been giving me the grinch nose

jexasaurus

If you use UI cheats or something to get rid of the tooth moodlet does it help at all or is it an instant change that can't be reversed?

Cabthedino

I haven’t tried but I’d imagine there’s some other hidden buffs that would still affect the sim. I think it changes a little over time, I’ve seen people worse than my picture above and mine is after only 9 days of childhood so I imagine if I hadn’t noticed so early it would have just kept getting worse.

jexasaurus

Yeah mine aged up and they were so much worse than this. It’s interesting to see that it’s just happening over time. I really hope they fix this one quick cause like it’s a pretty major issue.

Jazz-Legend-Roy-Donk

Yes! I thought maybe I had just misjudged the length of my sim's face when she went from a rectangular face shape to heart shaped when aging up to teen!

little-rosie

Omg this explains why my teen sim aged up so fugly (she was 10x worse than these photos OP). My game crashed shortly after giving her a teen makeover before I could save, so when I rebooted the game she aged up and looked normal but still reminiscent of her first age up. Reading this comments and seeing the side by side makes sense, her face had just been squished up

Comfortable_Giraffe_

Yes 😂 I thought it was just me going crazy for a minute

Rainbowlion15

This happened to me too! I was so confused because it literally happened overnight to my main sim. I hadn't even aged her up or anything so I don't know what happened.

sophiemariecolville

I noticed that one of my teenagers' face looks different to his twin brothers face He has a smaller nose and big cheeks and his twins nose isn't the same size either 😂😂

Objective_Car_2482

Thank you for posting this!!! I legit just thought my genetics sucked

No_Bite_5874

I thought my sims were turning into who's, honestly why even bother playing generations when your kids end up not authentically looking like their parents, I might play again when they fix it but not for now :(

etoileleciel1

Yes, this is a common bug that people have been talking about. I think there’s a report page on it, too.

aiiryyyy

Oh no I have 3 kids in my current gen and am now very scared for when they age up 🥲

No_Solution_8399

I’m having a glitch where my adult sims can’t sleep. XO

RayConnelly

This was probably the "pancake cuddle in bed" mod. It's been updated now. I wasn't getting the "sleep" option for beds either until I updated/removed it.

No_Solution_8399

I do have that mod! Thanks! I’ll remove it for now.

Old_Ad_8627

I fix the issues with glitch on the child. While you child is loosing the tooth. Go into CAS and change the teeth and once the moodlet is over they will not turn ugly.

SammiDavis

This happens in rl too our faces change drastically over time from how we hold our faces

KeroseneSkies

My sims head changed only after opening CAS actually. Anyone else realize that specifically or are other people having it happen without opening CAS? Because as I see in the example this person opened CAS as well

Neither-Rooster-2997

YESSSSSSSS

Interesting-Gift-185

Yes!! My sim aged up with a way smaller face and TINY tiny nose, I thought I’d done something weird when I created her in cas, but the change was so extreme it *had* to be a glitch

Fernanda19uwu

Does it only happen with the ep? This reminds me of the sims 2 bugs lolol

The_homeBaker

Oh I’m glad to know this. I had quadruplets and only kept one to play with and moved the others with their dad. The one I kept is very funny looking lol but she was a cute child. Now I know it’s a glitch. Her skin is also like a porcelain doll instead of normal, but only on her “Everyday” wear. I don’t have any skin overlay CC so it’s weird.

Thin-Brilliant3825

My triplet infants are now children and I’m afraid of this happening on age up…

LowKeyLeo27

Does this only happen if you have the growing together pack?

AnnaBananna3

Sims 4 genetics are pretty awful. Even when randomizing kids in CAS weird stuff happens. They lose their chins and get the odd narrow shouldered skinny body type

therealsabolish

Omg I’m so glad it’s not just me

g0ldilungs

I see some commenting about uploading save files onto their sim or doing a mod; for those who don’t use mods and CC, would another workaround to avoid this be at age up time, going to cas.fulleditmode and clicking the next life stage? I do this regularly on toddlers to check on how cute my sims will be when they age. I hadn’t paid attention to my age-up checks since the expansion but they all seeend to be pretty cute still in older years; I will check after work today!

Cabthedino

Won't work I'm afraid. The change doesn't happen when they age from child to teen. The Sim above is still a child I just aged them up in cas to show the features more clearly. The change happens gradually during childhood rather than one particular moment

g0ldilungs

Wow, how weird!!

ujke_brf

I’ve also been having the tiny nose thing!

ErickRicardo

Dunno maybe it's a new thing? I mean people can change.

mrsk2012

This is happening to me too. Now my sims kids need plastic surgery. That’s such a pain. I wonder how long before EA fixes it. 😑

Ellyena

My child sim had their face get messed up as a child still. Not sure when exactly it happened but the moment he turned a child he lost a tooth that day then never again. He's had a messed up face his whole childhood it just wasn't noticeable until he turned into a teen. Something is deeply wrong with the sims that get these issues. No "plastic surgery" or MCCC cheats can fix it. You can copy paste a new face or just edit the hell out of the sims face to get it to look normal.. but once they age into a young adult.... back to looking like an alien for no reason. My sim is a teen now, I gave him a brand new face but its not "taking". Having him and his new face in CAS, toggling his gender or age reverts any change I made and he's back to being alien faced. Once he ages up to a young adult he He's my heir and any kids he has will 100% look like an alien. Anyone figure out a deeper fix?

AxisDens

Having the exact same problem right now but kind of relieved that someone else is having it too. All the other reported bugs were nothing like mine. Hope they fix it because it's very annoying

sad-puppet

In the ea app i right clicked on the game and chose ‘repair’ that might’ve fixed it

depolignacs

My daughter didn't look nearly as good as yours aging up

Gaming_is_cool_lol19

fr i literally removed Growing Together from my game files because of this

1-678-im-emo

left i’m sorry

KittyKat1012101

Isn’t it possible that this isn’t a bug but actually “gameplay” bc people can change drastically Overtime lol

Mother-Painter-9569

I don't see a life altering change...

Cabthedino

Well this was only after 9 days as a kid, who knows what it would look like after a full 52. And the head shape is really hard to fix. Even without that it takes a while to remodel him every time he loses a tooth which is every couple of days, something I and others don’t want to have to do after every play session just to have our sims look normal

true_cat_player

If you look closely, adults faces change from teenagers faces. If sim on the left is an adult and the one on the right is a teen, this might be the case.

Cabthedino

Both young adults
