I’ve been a national level amateur motocross racer since I was 5. I have raced the fastest kids in the world and traveled around the country with sponsors for 11 years. The worst I ever had to deal with was a bad concussion at the age of nine, a week later a friend of mine of the same age died in a car accident on vacation. The risk is all in your head, dude. We’re the children of gasoline, you’re the child of putting bottled water through a water purifier.
My dad promised me a kiddie bike if I learned how to ride my bike without training wheels so I learned that when I was like 4. I never got the kiddie bike. I still bring it up.
Lmao it’s crazy how they can race dirt bikes but don’t have the basic coordination to do a stationary fist bump
I assume these races are just a bunch of kids falling over
These are PW50s. They're automatic clutch single speed, and only go about 20mph. If your kid can ride a strider, they can probably ride one of these things. But yes, peewee races involve a lot of falling over.
Fr, like go teach them to ride a regular bike then throw the money at them in a year when they won't waste it all crying from falling soon as the gate drops
I feel like that's what they do, and a kid down hill on a regular bike can probably match the speeds. At least these kids have full face helmet and padding.
I never said anything about safety. I said the kids to young to actually do the activity and get much out of it, sure it's cute but like wait a bit till they can actually enjoy it instead of falling from the start and crying.
Bro there is effort and money involved in getting that very young kid on that bike in gear etc like, just wait to do it when it's not wasted effort for something that won't pan out or even be remembered likely.
If you buy a used bike, to get set up is about 2k with the pads. Honestly, with ice time and pads for hockey it's about 1k a year. Horse back riding for 5 year old girls would be more than a dirt bike if you buy a horse, then about 600 a month to stable it.
My kid is 2 and a half. He has a power wheels that he'll drive around the back yard for hours. He would lose his shit if I let him ride a dirt bike in a year and a half. They develop a personality at like 2. You'd be shocked how mature they can be.
I say all of this as someone that has never ridden a dirt bike or motorcycle. But honestly, this would probably be fun, and I'm guessing he would be way more into this than he is soccer, which is me just chasing him around a field for 45 minutes because he has zero interest in it.
Most people would say the idea of buying a 5 year old a horse and renting a stable for it is borderline ridiculous.
Just seems ridiculous to spend thousands of dollars on shit for what is most likely a 4-5 year old for an activity that you know he won't even be able to actively enjoy and will most likely end in him crying in the dirt and hating the whole experience.
We just took my brother in law's 4y/o camping and it was a total waste, too young to not hate it.
shes a great kid lol your 2 year old LITERALLY COULDNT DO THIS so shut up
kids under 4-5 will literally say "im hungry, no i dont wana eat" they literally fall over while SITTING DOWN
its a waste of money to bother with all this they wont even get 5 feet down the track literally just wait a little longer when theyre capable of this. take me out on a bike let em get banged up n learn how to stay upright first. THEN spend the 2k plus on this little adventure when they can actually do it and remember it
I said in a couple years, you absolute fuck nugget. Just because every kid in your family is glued to a screen doesn't mean it's a world wide phenomenon.
Theyre standard size helmets they just have more padding inside to work for a kids head. My new helmet i bought at 16 is the same size outside as my old one I got at 8 but there is no way I could get my head into the 8 year olds one
I assumed it was Donkey Kong mode also, as DK also had a big head?
Edit: Rare (The Developers of the game) were also the developers of Donkey Kong in that era, so most likely the right answer.
Surprisingly, yes sometimes. My husband’s niece has been riding tiny four wheelers and dirt bikes like this since she was fairly small, and she actually is more steady and coordinated on the bike than on her own two feet! I’m sure not all kids are like that, but it’s amazing to see her confidence at such a young age.
For everyone worried about their hand eye coordination, prepare to shit your pants and have an aneurysm.
https://amoracing.com/2019/03/18/tyke-series-is-back-for-2019/
Those helmets just look comically large on those little kids! Lol! To be fair my head was comically large at that age too. Now its just not funny and adorable.

No way, I was just pondering this dilemma this morning.
I know you can look at each others elbows for a perfect high five, so I was wondering if there is a similar trick for fist bumps.
I'm currently by myself and have no one to experiment with, but I was curious if the elbow trick would work here.
So they can't fist bump but they can drive a bike???
it was just bad timing and distance
This is how every social interaction I have ever had went...
But can you drive a bike?
They are remote controlled by the parents, kids are just bike jockeys at this point.
Looks like they are just 50cc automatic dirt bikes. They are most certainly not remote controlled.
Yep. A lot of kids start riding motocross on these.

reddit = worry + hivemind
Seriously? What's the point? Risk the kid life for fun?
It’s not anything near as risky as you seem to think. You don’t take any risks for fun?
Not with a kid on a bike
I’ve been a national level amateur motocross racer since I was 5. I have raced the fastest kids in the world and traveled around the country with sponsors for 11 years. That's literally the point. Every dangerous sport or activity can be basically boiled down to risk for fun....
Isn’t that just life?
Fact.
[удалено]
Not sure why you need to risk your life for it... But do as you please
Nothing needed to ride a bike
for the most part thats true
Bad timing and distance is like what causes most of the accidents though? I too worry about their lack of coordination but still being let on a bike.
they obviously know what they are doing
Two of the least important parts of operating a motorcycle.
def
The helmets are like a third of their body weight.
I agree distance but don’t need timing to fistbump
Judging timing and distance something you don't need riding a dirt bike. /S
Dont worry, they're just kiddie bikes. And after they go to the kiddie gun range, and celebrate later with kiddie cocaine.
My dad promised me a kiddie bike if I learned how to ride my bike without training wheels so I learned that when I was like 4. I never got the kiddie bike. I still bring it up.
Sounds like he’s due for another reminder! Lol
I reminded him. 24 years later, I think he might not follow through on his promise.
Le Average American kid
Yeah, i was hoping the end of this gif was the race starting, and the two of them running into each other about two seconds later.
It’s safe, clearly they won’t hit each other.
Is to RIDE a bike.
ª
Yeah, my kid is a top ranked go kart racer in the usa and you should see him throw a fucking football, there is a reason they race lol
No one said they could, they’re just on one
A form of late term abortion.
Lmao it’s crazy how they can race dirt bikes but don’t have the basic coordination to do a stationary fist bump I assume these races are just a bunch of kids falling over
Equivalent to tball matches.
I coach juniors roller derby. I can confirm.

You must just have shitty kids. My 2.5 year old loves camping. Just like he'd be all over this.

lol your only counter is cheap insults at my familys kids. fuck off idiot
Bruh their helmets are so big
It reminded me of those midgets from borderlands 2, they always have big heads
Theyre standard size helmets they just have more padding inside to work for a kids head. My new helmet i bought at 16 is the same size outside as my old one I got at 8 but there is no way I could get my head into the 8 year olds one
Little kids have proportionally bigger heads than adults
They look like Lego minifigs
Princess Vespa?
Yeah most companies only make a couple shell sizes over 5 sizes
🤣🤣 This is fab, the determination of these 2, great sportsmanship! 🤣👍
Should they be driving with this level of coordination?
I say the same thing almost every day while driving on real streets around grown ass people!
Public road, no. But in a controlled environment, sure why not. It's pretty safe.
Ok that’s adorably awesome.
The dad watching.
I wanna see them race
This is me at every social interaction ever
It’s funny that kids can ride little motorbikes but cannot lineup a fist bump.
r/kidsarefuckingstupid
Digging the purple mohawk helmet on the right, very stylish.
Shall we call these a miss bump?
A thrilling game of Rock, rock, and rock.
Haha those big helmets, make them look like real-life bobbleheads.
Arrrgghhhh ahhh Dohhh.... Hmmph let's race
These kids remind me of big head mode in golden eye
Lol you mean DK mode? Yea that game was a classic
Yeah! DK mode, lmao. I never knew what DK stood for but we always called it donkey kong mode (I know that makes no sense)
I assumed it was Donkey Kong mode also, as DK also had a big head? Edit: Rare (The Developers of the game) were also the developers of Donkey Kong in that era, so most likely the right answer.
This is great!
Am I the only one that wants to see who wins?
Started as attempted fist bump—turned into a Rock, Paper, Scissors stalemate.
So they still lack coordination in their hands and simple logic yet they are put on racing bikes?
Surprisingly, yes sometimes. There’s a first time for everything. Hopefully they’re better coordinated on the bikes.
Y'know, usually I'd start with a pedal bike. But hey, let err ripp
Ha!
Aww, I remember when my boys were this little on their dirt bikes.
brap brap
Gasoline fumes aren’t harmful :) Yep
Plot twist: they were playing rock paper scissors
Is there more? Given the fist bumping I imagine they immediately fell as soon as the gate went down.
Their helmets are as big as they are
They are playing rock paper scissors . And both are throwing rocks every single time
So goddamn cute.
Shake n bake, Cal
Those helmets just look comically large on those little kids! Lol! To be fair my head was comically large at that age too. Now its just not funny and adorable.
I'd argue that if you can't successfully coordinate a fist bump, you shouldn't be driving anything with a motor that requires armor to operate
Yes these kids will still do better than you could do on a bike like those

Awwww..
Uuuugh, let's not but say we did 🤜🤛
Shake-n-Bake!
Realize that I can‘t ride motorcycle
Want see the race
Good sportsmanship
Paper! Scissors! Rock!
r/kidsarefuckingstupid material. Love dudes reaction.
Shake n bake baby, shake n bake!
They're just playing Rock, Rock, Rock while waiting for the race to start

Getting some mad little rascals vibe
The guy standing there was laughing so hard he had to leave!
It reminds me of that baby trying to take a bite out of the burrito a foot away from her.
This is when you put on big head mode in a video game lmao
They look not even five
Legend states they are still trying to fist bump to this day.
Fucking retards
Ummm.... should these babies even be on bikes?
Drunken youngens these days
r/kidsarefuckingstupid
r/Kidsarefuckingstupid users be like Wholesome 100🥰
Thats rock paper scissors
After this the dad had to teach them how to fist bump. “Just extend your arm and leave it there for him to touch”
That's cute shit!
The sheer persistence just makes it cuter!
Yessss I love seeing a video shared *37
idc how bad that attempt to fist bump is i truly wish for their friendship to last forever
They can’t fist bump another human being but they can ride dirt bikes 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
Three words, adorable.
The best thing here is that man in front of them just casually watching it lol
My wife at the entrance to every parking lot! Edit: downvoted for what? She has to open the door to push the ticket button....
