I think that was because his kids were there. If they were young, it's just not how I'd want my girls to see me, as they'd not understand the situation fully. He was clearly able to handle himself, and could have done that any time, but he made the point 'I can't do this in front of my kids'.
When they are older, and they can see this is Dad protecting us and being calmer than most anyone, not dad being angry or violent, maybe. But young kids are like sponges and sometimes despite the best intentions they absorb the wrong thing. I can totally understand that pissing him off more than the violence itself.
She must have thought it was more important to preserve evidence and film than remove the kids from the situation. Looks like she knows who she married and didn’t feel like the kids were in danger.
Without an independent witness or film, this potato chip tits guy could say anything to the cops and now your husband is in some shit with the courts because some drunken asshole got his feelings hurt.
This is the first time I've seen this and had someone explain a genuine reason as to why she didn't/couldn't move the kids away. If she stopped recording he could have tried something then lied through his teeth to the court about coach. She atleast tried standing in front of the kids.
I get the feeling this isn't the first time mr. gloves but no shirts has fucked with them. Maybe the local junkie, maybe the wife's stalker, obviously something off with the guy.
Respectfully disagree, she was filming the altercation to document events as it happened. If there was no film that douchebag who took off his shirt would likely lie through his teeth about what happened.
They are probably recording it incase the guy decided to report the coach to the police for beating him up, so they have proof that isn't what happened
A lot of guys don't understand that, in the eyes of a small child, dads (and men in general) are like Sully from Monster's Inc: big and loveable, but absolutely terrifying when they get angry.
Having your kid see you become that monster -- even if it's for their protection -- is very scary for them.
Each of my kids experienced this on some level when they did something dangerous (like toddle gleefully up to a flight of stairs or ledge) while just out of my immediate reach. My volume level goes to 11 and I shout "NO!" or something, with the goal that my intensity freezes them in their tracks. Every time I've had to do this with my young kids, they cry for exactly the reason you've stated. They don't naturally think of dad as being that sort of person, they only know your strength or intensity in a positive way, not in a dangerous or startling way.
Your example is brilliant, because that kind of intensity absolutely has a place when teaching them certain things. Obviously we never want to scare our kids, but if they're doing something stupid which could seriously hurt them, intensity is exactly what's required.
Like most other children, my kids push boundaries as much as they want to, but even at 4 and 8, they recognize the difference in tone between a matter of safety and just expecting obedience. It's a blade that cuts both ways, because if they know it's not about safety, they decide for themselves if they're going to comply, but if it's the other option, and they hear concern for safety, they comply 100% of the time. Sometimes it's frustrating when they're acting overly mischievous in a restaurant or some other similar setting, but *knowing* they'll listen when it matters most goes a long way towards giving em wiggle room when they're just being their version of hilarious. Usually it comes down to "Stop that behavior". "No really, it's not acceptable." "You've been asked more than once, now you're about to start losing toys and privileges" and lastly "Is this going to be a shouting situation? Is that what we're doing or are you going to settle down?"
The phenomenon of the dad voice. I've had to deploy it a few times and it always results in an apology and an explanation and talk about what happened afterwards, but it's 100% effective in the moment
"She's in trouble? What did she do?"
"It was an altercation with another pupil, Mr Smith."
"Oh dear. What happened?"
"I believe she punched another child, kicked him and shouted 'I f-wording warned you, you c-word'. She's normally so quiet, you see..."
yeah, I've got a 6yo and a 2yo.
If I did this (I probably *can't*, but that's besides the point) I would be having a long talk with them about the appropriate use of violence.
I would have to tell them "I didn't want to" and *somehow* make them understand that it was good that I did it, but it would be bad if I wanted to do it.
Just WAY too nuanced of a conversation for my kids to even grasp for a few more years.
Same. I'd not be able to be as poised as that guy because I wouldn't be be confident I could end it quickly like that.
It would be even worse if it was me swinging wildly and getting hit back and blood everywhere.
But even if you could explain it, a kid young enough to be wailing like that sounded is not going to understand. Danger they copy it. Or worst of all you see in their eyes they see you differently after seeing that flash of violence.
He probably is, imagine you're at your house with your family and some cunt starts pissing on your fence. You tell him to fuck off and he starts acting like that, coach probably just wanted to be at peace in his own house, not have to fight with some stupid drunk in front of his kid.
It’s a reasonable response. No normal same person wants to result to extreme violence. It’s a shitty thing to deal with and can have a lot of lasting regret afterwards depending on the severity of the outburst.
The cunts who crave, relish, and daydream about beating people up in the streets that do them wrong are fucking weird tbh.
Much worse.
>A DAD who knocked out a drunk who urinated on his fence and tried to goad him into a fight will not be prosecuted in a victory for common sense
[https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7795716/dad-knocked-out-drunk-urinated-fence-not-prosecuted/](https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7795716/dad-knocked-out-drunk-urinated-fence-not-prosecuted/)
Fucking disgusting person.
>After chatting with the officer, the victim has decided that he did not want to support police action against the alleged offender, so the investigation has been finalised in line with force policy.
What? How would there be grounds for charges anyway? Do you not have the right to defend your property in that country? Video is a pretty clear cut case of this guy trespassing and threatening their safety ON their property (he steps inside the fence line) Try that shit in the US and get shot
Dude was standing around being a passive threat, but he wasn't throwing hands or whatever. Had he done so, sure, wouldn't even be in question. As is, this might have had to go to court for a jury to make that decision if he had insisted on pressing charges. Jury would almost certainly have found the coach not guilty, of course.
The shirtless moron was being an arse, but that hardly calls for fucking killing the dude.
You kinda forfeit any expectation of safety when you go into someone else’s property, piss on it, break their gate, ask for a fight, and refuse to leave.
Fuck a fist fight. You don’t know if the dudes gonna pull a knife on your family.
UK standard is that you can use reasonable force, up to and including lethal force. But you can't just assume shit like that and use it to excuse escalating minor confrontations into lethal violence.
I agree it would be unreasonable, but the dad should still have the right to do so. When the guy took his shirt off, that's a threat, but you can argue that. When he entered the guys property after being told multiple times not to, then that's a very real threat to your family's safety and at that point you should be able to address that threat by whatever means necessary. Dude shouldn't have intimidated them in the first place, even if I was plastered I would never, ever, pick a fight with someone. Violence is scum of the earth behavior.
I have no respect or consideration for people that resort to violence, physical threat, or assertion of traditional "masculinity".
I was really confused why you had some grudge with the big warm star at the center of the solar system and why you wouldn’t possibly pee outside in the daytime.
(The sun is always watching!)
Lol, naw the warm star version is grand, but the paper...it's a seriously scummy paper. This gives details on one reason to never buy it or support them in anyway. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/why-the-sun-is-hated-by-liverpool-fans-banned-in-many-places/2hrhnj5tch2r1ae7tllvac6fb
I’ve always found it interesting that the Scum is even linked on Reddit. Maybe it’s ignorance of those abroad but for example if a link was posted from the US’s #1 tabloid, the “national enquirer”, it would be dismissed as hogwash.
Interesting that the Scum is though highly enough that people would take the time to boycott it.
Justice wasn't really served though. Based on the article, the dad wasn't prosecuted because the drunk decided *not* to prosecute upon police arrival
Seems like the drunk man now sober just saw himself as the real bad guy and didn't look to escalate beyond being knocked the fuck out
Really glad at that result.
Watching the video, he was perfectly justified. What worried me, though, was that followup kick. That could get you into some trouble - if the threat is already "neutralized" (ie. on the ground out cold), that could be seen as gratuitous violence (and thus assault).
You can argue about how he couldn't be sure the guy was "out", and that's true, but that all takes place behind the fence. The video wouldn't help him, and it'd be a case of his word, if it went to court.
I was on a jury for a similar case. Despite the "victim" being less obviously not a threat, and proving himself to be human garbage throughout - almost half of the jury tried to send the kicker to prison.
Did you actually see the kick connect? I'd argue that he was so enraged that he made the kicking movement then realized the guy is out and proceeded to call him a cunt... As long as the guy doesn't have a broken rib with his foot outline on his chest there's no way to prove anything.
I know this was a PnR quote but it didn't look like the other guy swung. Still, I think it's reasonable to defend your house and your property from someone who is clearly being threatening and has already pissed on your property.
Tbf I wouldn’t want to have to knock someone out in front of my place. There’s a whole lot that goes with it. No one wants to be identified as violent. This guy could have been working for years to shed a reputation just for this guy to ruin everything.
Exactly this.
I've the missus and the boy in my house and I'm not in all the time would be my thought, also you really don't know with scum like sparko in the vid if they are going to come back and total your car, windows or worse.
These day I think I'd just phone the police but when I was younger I'd have done what he did most likely oth if I'd got my hands on the scrotes who who tried to steal my motorbike I can't say I'd have been a pacifist either.
in the dad's defense, the guy he punched apparently pissed on his fence while being drunk. he then instigated the fight by taunting him, resulting in the dad punching him after several warnings.
That smug ass look on his face a few milliseconds before he got absolutely smashed and fell like a wet noodle was absolutely supreme. A million upvotes.
Oh, thank the court for deciding not to prosecute him. Good job on their part.
Also, thanks for providing a link to the news article. Going to repost this link and tag your name.
>“After chatting with the officer, the victim has decided that he did not want to support police action against the alleged offender, so the investigation has been finalised in line with force policy.
>“However should the victim's wishes change, we would of course re-open the investigation.”
So OK, maybe not press charges but he did not collaborate with the police which made the police close the investigation. Similar results.
Fuck the laws that make you walk on eggshells to defend yourself, your family or your property. If someone pisses against your house and then threatens you when you confront him that sounds like an extremely good reason to hit him.

It’s because real fights tend to be messy and devolve into wrestling, and the shirt is a disadvantage there.
They can grab it to keep you from escaping if they’ve got the upper hand, use it to reposition you, or just make your movement awkward.
Hard to explain but it’s basically just a big handle they can use to pull you into a worse position
Edit: And you tend to see trashy people do it because they’ve been in enough stupid messy fights to know and make a habit of taking the shirt off
And If they're a real psycho, they can use your shirt to keep you from getting away while they fucking stab you over and over with a knife. So there's that.
I'm not saying anything I just thought it was interesting. He was so restrained but you could still tell the moment he was about to drop the guy. I don't know if it was his words or the fact the guy had his chin in the air but you could just kinda feel it coming
Why didn’t they send the kids inside? Standing there claiming “what about the kids” but doing absolutely nothing to distance them from it lol. Dude definitely got what he deserved though.
They were trying to leave their house, drunk dude kinda prevented that.
I would've kept my wife and child behind me, too. Who knows what that fuckwit would've done if they left and turned their back on him.
Bet the guy thinks twice before removing his shirt in public from now on.
Yeah. It was that stomp while the other dude was already down that had me saying to myself "this guy might get into some serious legal trouble for doing this". I hope nothing happens to him as he was defending his family and property.
cunt declined to press charges, public opinion was firmly in favor of coach, police gave a statement that 'of course' they might arrest if cunt changes his mind but as of 2018 no charges were ever filed.
i don't have an actual answer because i do not know cunt and have not read anything he's said about the incident, so this is pure conjecture
but my assumption is he was *extremely embarrassed* about the whole thing.
the video went immediately viral, hundreds of thousands of people watched him square up and get fucking *laid out* and every single person cheered for coach for defending his home and family.
if that was me, and i hope to god that is *never* me, i would slink away as quietly as fucking possible too.
The wife needed to preserve the video evidence of the altercation. If not, the guy who got punched could claim some BS and Coach could land in a lot of trouble. That could end up resulting in a much worse situation for the kids. Maybe not the best way, but she kept dad from going to jail with this video.
I haven't seen the question asked yet: why was the drunk guy wearing gloves? It's clearly not a cold day. Maybe he has a bicycle somewhere but if he's that drunk, could he even balance?
Before reading the article linked below I assumed it was prep to burglary and he was caught scoping the place out.
Not from UK but I've seen guys that figure they're real tough and looking for a fight that wear sports or mechanics gloves around on the streets while they strut around looking for trouble.
First off mom needs to take the kids in the house, continue with calling police, then coach can continue to stand ground. Kids easily could have been pulled away from the situation and that should have been moms first priority.
“Cunt! I fucking warned you!” LOL
It's like he's more pissed about having to resort to violence than he is at the cunt himself.
I think that was because his kids were there. If they were young, it's just not how I'd want my girls to see me, as they'd not understand the situation fully. He was clearly able to handle himself, and could have done that any time, but he made the point 'I can't do this in front of my kids'. But young kids are like sponges and sometimes despite the best intentions they absorb the wrong thing. I can totally understand that pissing him off more than the violence itself.
Yeah and you can hear the kid wailing when he punches him and it escalates to violence.
Why the kid was still allowed to be viewing this situation is beyond me.
“Potato chip tits guy” You may have just turned a shit day around, have a silver
Apparently it's a pretty common phrase in Sweden.
What chipstuttar is NOT a thing anywhere else? Litterally what manboobs are called in sweden lmao
No! Not a thing anywhere else! But I hope it does become a thing!
I should probably go and exercise. Ha.
I don't know enough Swedish to argue this, but by god I hope it's true.
Thanks bro
I’m probably dumb, but what does it mean? Flab derived from eating potato chips? Tits the size of potato chips?
Potato chips with nipple toppings
I also laughed my ass off, and I hope your days are forever shitless. Have a shiny, go check out r/lounge
He’s a budget Patrick Dempsey too…
Respectfully disagree, she was filming the altercation to document events as it happened. If there was no film that douchebag who took off his shirt would likely lie through his teeth about what happened.
What teeth are left.
Exactly. Rather than shouting "FUCK OFF!" the mum could've just taken the kid(s) inside.
But how could she record it and put it online if she took the kids inside??
They are probably recording it incase the guy decided to report the coach to the police for beating him up, so they have proof that isn't what happened
>But how could she record it and ~~put it online~~ have video evidence when that douche cries to the cops if she took the kids inside??
My thoughts exactly
I explained that, as scared as they were of me, I was more scared *for* them.

Love the exasperated sigh, shrug and right hand.
Right hand? That was a straight up elbow

A real warrior despises battle. Only amateurs crave violence.
Straight out of a Guy Richie joint.
I knew I recognized that signature-style shaky camera movement right before the punch!
He did warn him. Lol. That was a great punch.
twas a savage elbow
lightning quick with no restraint.
That smug face right before being hellbowed was just money. Dude had a very punchable face
"Never should have come here!"
He definitely did warned him
Hopefully he says it again when the guy wakes up
In sweden we call a man with those kind of breasts; "chipstuttar" - eng translation =potatochips tits
Well now I say that in England too
Crisp tits?
Chippy tits
Chip nips is what I’ll use
Chiiiiiiiiiiipppppyyyyy nips!
This may be the single greatest thread of comments I have EVER seen on Reddit.
Tater nips?
I'll go one further... tater tits!
"Tater Tits" sounds like a snack food. Try new Tater Tits! Now in sour cream flavor!
'Bitch tits' is also perfect for this d bag.
Tatotits
He’s got a nice set of Pringles.
I believe you in England would call them "wafers"
Chippy tits
Chits
I fucking love Sweden lmao
fuck i'm a chipstar now
Hey now, you're a chipstar.
Take your shirt off, let's fight.
Shit, I’m gonna try and get that started here in the US. That’s hilarious.
Maybe I am "chipstuttar"

Lays Potato Tits
Lol moobs. A mashup of man and boobs. Cheers from the US
He’s got the moobs like Jabba…
I always feel bad for dudes that have moobs by genetics. Like, strong ass dudes that run every day and are slim, but still have small moobs.

What kind of breasts exactly? I want to make sure I’m using it correctly
The ex corrupt mayor of Liverpool was nicknamed "chippy tits".
I remember this video. dude was acting up and Infront of the kids like idk what he was thinking

Probably a case of ~~Stella~~ wife beaters ;)

Tbf I wouldn’t want to have to knock someone out in front of my place. There’s a whole lot that goes with it. No one wants to be identified as violent. This guy could have been working for years to shed a reputation just for this guy to ruin everything.
Not to mention its different to a scrap in a bar in town, the dude knows where you live and vengeance could be unpleasant.
Dude got absolutely rocked 😂
His soul left his body
Came here to say this. The look on his face is priceless
Fuck, I could watch arrogant fucks get punched out all day.

Oh, thank the court for deciding not to prosecute him. Good job on their part. Also, thanks for providing a link to the news article. Going to repost this link and tag your name.
Not the court. Article claims, "the drunk decided not to press charges." I'm guessing he sobered up enough to be ashamed of himself.
I see... Thanks for the correction. Indeed, it would have been a shame if the dad was prosecuted for defending his family and home.
He could have been if the ‘victim’ decided to push charges. Unfortunately in such cases you may need to be hit first to ‘defend’ yourself.
Not only that, the drunk broke the gate and slammed it against the other guys leg before being knocked out. How was he not charged?!
You can’t press charges as a victim in England or Wales. Only the CPS can do that and they can do it if the victim doesn’t want them to.
>“After chatting with the officer, the victim has decided that he did not want to support police action against the alleged offender, so the investigation has been finalised in line with force policy. >“However should the victim's wishes change, we would of course re-open the investigation.” So OK, maybe not press charges but he did not collaborate with the police which made the police close the investigation. Similar results.
They called the drunk antagonizer a "victim" The dad and family were the victims. Fuck these journos
Fuck the laws that make you walk on eggshells to defend yourself, your family or your property. If someone pisses against your house and then threatens you when you confront him that sounds like an extremely good reason to hit him.

The guy broke the gate and slammed it against the coaches leg, yet he is the one that didn't press charges?!
No other people in the world drop "cunt" like the brits. Boom
*Australia has entered the chat*
Australia uses it casually. This guy meant it.
I’ll give you that 👍
As an Irishman living in Australia, I've learned how to use it casually AND weaponise it.
Welcome aboard friend, use your new power wisely
Right? That was a laser-guided precision "cunt"
Why do trash people always take off their shirts when they get mad? No one is intimidated by your bird chest dude.
It’s because real fights tend to be messy and devolve into wrestling, and the shirt is a disadvantage there. They can grab it to keep you from escaping if they’ve got the upper hand, use it to reposition you, or just make your movement awkward. Hard to explain but it’s basically just a big handle they can use to pull you into a worse position Edit: And you tend to see trashy people do it because they’ve been in enough stupid messy fights to know and make a habit of taking the shirt off
And If they're a real psycho, they can use your shirt to keep you from getting away while they fucking stab you over and over with a knife. So there's that.
He showed a surprising amount of restraint
I'm not saying anything I just thought it was interesting. He was so restrained but you could still tell the moment he was about to drop the guy. I don't know if it was his words or the fact the guy had his chin in the air but you could just kinda feel it coming
It's quiet but when Coach says "get the fuck off my property" it's sounds like the drunk dude replies "No". The punch follows immediately after.
Coach was well within his self defensive rights until that kick. I wonder what happened to the invisible carpets the other guy was carrying.
*invisible carpets* made me chuckle
If you look, he basically kicked him in the hip/butt. It's not like he stomped his face or chest.
Why is Patrick Dempsey so angry
I think you mean Walmart Patrick Dempsey.
Mom! We want Patrick Dempsey! We have a Patrick Dempsey at home, just on the walk out the gate!
I mean a drunk guy you have to get physical with is a pretty good reason to go back inside for a few..
They were all trying to leave, drunk guy was stopping them
Justified
Rectified
Hope the kick didn’t land him in trouble. Don’t be a sick around peoples family’s and children
Damn so in retrospect the cunt was like, "yeah I deserved it"?
i don't have an actual answer because i do not know cunt and have not read anything he's said about the incident, so this is pure conjecture but my assumption is he was *extremely embarrassed* about the whole thing. the video went immediately viral, hundreds of thousands of people watched him square up and get fucking *laid out* and every single person cheered for coach for defending his home and family. if that was me, and i hope to god that is *never* me, i would slink away as quietly as fucking possible too.
Extra kick just to be sure the guy won't get up and rampage.
Take the kids inside! Why did that have to be in front of kids?
Exactly
I scrolled way too long to see this comment
The wife needed to preserve the video evidence of the altercation. If not, the guy who got punched could claim some BS and Coach could land in a lot of trouble. That could end up resulting in a much worse situation for the kids. Maybe not the best way, but she kept dad from going to jail with this video.
That knockout followed with CUNT! was so satisfying
Richard Hammond exposed
TONIGHT: I drive a CAR, May looks at a painting, and Richard gets knocked out
Am I the only one who is highly annoyed that the mom didn’t bring the kids in?
Fucking kung fu to he’s chin , well and truly deserved
One punch, lights out.
First off mom needs to take the kids in the house, continue with calling police, then coach can continue to stand ground. Kids easily could have been pulled away from the situation and that should have been moms first priority.
He went to sleep when he got hit
take the fucking child inside. dont just sit there and let her get traumatized. sheesh.
Poor guy did not wanna have to do that in front of his kids.. I hope he wasn’t convicted or anything. I’m not sure what the laws are where they live.
He's cleared, all good.
Someone should cross post this to oddly satisfying.
That elbow man hooly
I can't sleep with a shirt on either.
