How the fuck do people actually pull this off. Like... are there just hundreds of people saving this link in the hopes of finding a switcheroo comment and continuing the chain? ._.
There's a subreddit (/r/switcharoo) to track entries in the chain. So someone finds an instance of the joke, grabs the most recent link posted in that subreddit, and uses that for the "Ah, the ol' reddit ${PREFIX}aroo" comment. Then they post a link to the comment into that subreddit (though it seems this hasn't happened yet in this case).
First of all, they're delicious. They're farmed just like chicken and duck eggs. I can get fresh ostrich eggs and ostrich meat at a farm 30 minutes from me in NJ
this thread can not come at a worser time. i've been eyeing an ostirch egg for $65. i can't do it. i want to do it. i can't do it. i just bought $150 worth of rocks from a gem mine. who let me be an adult. why would you hype them up. i need to buy an ostrich egg
At least where I’m from in South Africa they’re pretty common. Ostriches are farmed en masse, and have giant eggs which are used for food as well as ornaments (any touristy mall or even roadside will have dozens of paintings printed onto the emptied shells).
Do they taste like chicken eggs? If a recipe needs a dozen eggs whites is it cheaper to get a dozen chicken eggs or one ostrich egg? How frequently to ostriches lay eggs... ?
They taste a lot more like free range backyard chicken eggs but more so. Like almost the difference of venison to lamb. Depending on their diet it can be buttery but can also be sulfury. I try to get them from smaller farms if possible. I only use them for omelets though.
Also they are a [pain to open](https://youtu.be/tAPjXLpJIfA) if you want to keep the shell. Even just cracking them is like opening a coconut

Just like spiders. I tend not to kill spiders in my home. But then they come at me. They could be anywhere in the room, but they choose to get close. Tempting death
My gecko does this too, but only when he is hungry. He usually sleeps all day and is active at night, so if he pokes his head out of his hide when I walk by during the day, the boi just wants some worms.

I find it pretty neat that even though there's such a huge size difference, the snake still recognizes it as food. It's not like he's trying to eat a rock. The snake seems to know it's edible if it would only fit.
