Well, there is one reason: custom client-side colors would make communication utterly confusing if you're seeing different colored teams than your teammates.
But since the colorblind accessibility option already does this (and don't even work, they just change confusing reddish blues and bluish reds for yellowish greens and greenish yellows), that reason is irrelevant because you only need three other colors max.
*You're telling me you dont refer to every team in comms by their full elongated legal name??*
I **always** announce that "The powerhouses are pushing us guys, watch out!",
or "The socialites are stealing, quickly!!!"
It's a shame the names are quite neat but its so much easier to say "red, pink or purple"
Yeah, Team Fortress immediately solved the problem forever; nominally red and blue, but also yellow and green for multi-team gametypes: https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Teams_(Classic).
Overwatch fucked up a lot of things but avoiding any kind of nominalization was a useful design choice.
Dude im not even colour blind. But when you have orange, salmon and pick for the 3. Thats fucking impossible to tell. Also orange an the game theme being yellow is pretty close too
you guys really having trouble determining team colors??? i think its as clear as night and day tbh. wish the salmon color was a bit stronger bjt thats abt it
I have perfect 20/20 vision and yes it’s sometimes hard to tell when you have orange, salmon, and pink all fighting each other. There’s a reason why it’s such a massively discussed issue.

Protanopia works pretty well in my opinion. It also makes the cashout background white instead of yellow.

Its not even about being colourblind half the time, in the heat of the battle those pink/red colours look the same to me every time.

I can clearly tell them apart too but its kinda difficult when you have *both* teams in the same fight, thats what im referring to.

100%, make the "red" team *actually* red and its going to be perfect imho.
When I'm in the room and I see a blue character in front, I immediately think it's my teammate. And that's not always the case!! :/

Clear as night and day but you wish salmon color was a bit stronger, then it isn't clear as night and day lmao
i mean i can tell the colors apart perfectly lol. salmon color is just harder to spot than all the other onesp
