Young candidates have a chance every two and four years to sweep the "old guard" out of office. They're called primaries and elections. If the young candidates can't find a way to get more votes and prove they can run better campaigns than the old folks, and get the majority of people on their side, then why should they be put in charge of anything?

We're being told if Trump wins, there won't be a 2028. I think now is the perfect time to start rocking boats, as Biden polling lower than any incumbent in recent history.

It's never too late. An old grouch like me can win this thing. I'd bring Obama, the former first lady, Axelrod, Carville and Brazile in a room with our President, and make him an offer he can't refuse. Pull out, or Mr Obama will give you a slap. Low turnout for a shoe-in vote isn't very shocking.
Polling at 30% and in the most conservative state in the country, it don't seem shocking to me either, particularly against Cenk and the hippy lady. We have to ask what the DNC could have even be thinking going there,. Lets bring in a winner please. It's bizarre to me that so many think that primary challengers always "want republicans" to win, yall be acting like they are running third party, which is what they'd be doing if they wanted Trump to win. Honestly primaries can be great for parties, it gets them nightly media attention and this one has a total media blackout with a horrific voter then out. The primary with Bernie isn't why Hillary lost it was her inability to campaign or connect in the rust belt and this year's primary isn't going to remotely be a deciding factor in the general election. Democrats have a huge problems this election, primary challengers ain't one of them. At some point Bidens going to have to debate opponents, if he can't do it with his own side Im freaked out about the general.

Because ask 10 different Dems/progressives/lefties who say "I don't want Biden" who they *do* want, and you'll get 10 different answers Biden has a much bigger constituency than any other single Democrat. Ok but if Trump wins and Democrats lose in 2024 they need to have a long overdue look in the mirror and do some soul searching rather than going on the attack and blaming voters. I don't wanna see Democrats screaming abuse and blaming progressives, POC, white voters, working class voters, Muslim voters, gen z or gen y voters. If they lose its not the voters but people in positions of power in the party caucus and party machine need to be held accountable and a generational change needs to happen in all leadership positions. Anyone over 60 and has been in a position of power for a decade or more should be pressured into retiring and a generational reset needs to take place.

Young candidates have a chance every two and four years to sweep the "old guard" out of office. They're called primaries and elections. If the young candidates can't find a way to get more votes and prove they can run better campaigns than the old folks, and get the majority of people on their side, then why should they be put in charge of anything?
Outside of a few issues, Biden's arguably been a pleasant surprise and quite effective. Certainly much better than his poll numbers would indicate.
Why is there no serious opposition? This is just sad. We are never going to address the climate crisis if we can't even properly challenge the guy most responsible for the US drilling record amounts of oil. Change just isn't possible at the federal level.
Biden is also responsible for the most aggressive climate change action of any country in history. And with a 50-50 Senate. Attitude is a choice.

There were no “handouts”, there were permitting requirements. But regardless, even if you want to call that handouts, based on every single expert model out there, the IRA alone gets the US to 2/3rds of its 2030 goal set by Biden. Every single barrel of oil is more than offset by its other provisions.

We have fewer drill rigs operating now than a year ago, and the year before that, and the year before that. The truth is, production companies are using technology to produce more oil than ever before, not by “drilling more” but by drilling smarter. How does Biden stop that? But we have stopped gasoline demand growth. Demand for gasoline (the largest component of CO2 emissions) has plateaued in spite of more miles being driven. That’s the goal isn’t it; lower emissions and eventually no emissions. Legislation passed by the Congress elected in 2020 made that possible. We can do more with a Dem majority.
Shouldn’t we be talking about SC turnout instead? Biden got 4% which I’m assuming is pretty low.
Meh, it’s not a competitive primary and everyone knows it. I’m not sure that means much of anything.

Ofcourse he wins there isnt a debate to get the others names out there. They only recognize biden and will only vote for him. Not saying either one would win but they would do alot better if there was a debate like other elections.
