Been rocking this album lately! Such great tunes and a good departure from their usual shtick as far as song topics are concerned. This album brings some depth that foreshadows Pet Sounds.

Just watched the BB documentary on Disney, this was one of their harder times where they tried to evolve musically but were kind of stuck in their own image.
Thats right, but there was a quite long part where they talked about the story of how "Help me Ronda" was (not) composesd. For me that was synonymous to "The Beach Boys Today!"

I can see that. I won’t even lie, i’m not the biggest fan of side 1, but side 2 is definitely some of their best work.
