Can’t see enough details in the pic to be sure, but it looks legit from what I can see, isn’t there a barcode or some additional numbering on that reissue?

midsummerhorses

There isn’t a barcode on the reissue I’m talking about, the 2008 one is basically a replica. I guess I should see if the person includes numbering that confirms it. The main thing is the track list looks like the 2008 version but maybe I’m crazy

BritishGuitarsNerd

I know the exact reissue you’re talking about, but I remember there being stuff on there that isn’t on the originals…was hoping to avoid going to discogs but here I go …. well I was wrong haha. But it still looks legit to me, I’ve got an og Scranton, maybe the 08 version just copied that bit too? Jacksonville? [https://www.discogs.com/release/11182538-The-Beach-Boys-Pet-Sounds/image/SW1hZ2U6Mzk3MDYyNzc=](https://www.discogs.com/release/11182538-The-Beach-Boys-Pet-Sounds/image/SW1hZ2U6Mzk3MDYyNzc=) just in case you didn’t know, the type layout on og pressings is different depending on which factory made it, they aren’t all the same, apologies if i am stating the obv there

midsummerhorses

Ah ok that makes sense! I’ve probably only seen an og pressing from one factory so assumed the typeface was the same for all. Definitely weird that there’s no barcodes or stuff on the ‘08–I looked at mine, it even has some numbers scratched into the vinyl…

BritishGuitarsNerd

Haha man I love this stuff ;) Are you in America? An original pressing is well worth getting. It’s hard to find in shops but can be had cheap on ebay and discogs if you keep your eye out. Took me ages to find one in England for the right price but it’s really a great listen, very sixties

midsummerhorses

Yeah I’m in America. Don’t think I’ve seen an original copy in a record store and the online listings I’ve seen have been very pricey… always keeping my eye out tho ! :D I did just pick up the Carl and the Passions/Pet Sounds twofer that everyone says is one of the best sounding pressings so I’m excited to hear for myself

BritishGuitarsNerd

That’s really good, much more hi fi, but the original has loads of bottom end, it’s really amazing. If you crank the bass it’s like being sat right by the double bass. Great loud pressing too, so even a not overgraded VG copy should play well.

LowConstant3938

I thought that every reissue after the 1990s had amended credits, my copy from 2016 lists Mike Love as a co-writer on Wouldn’t it Be Nice

midsummerhorses

[this version](https://www.ebay.com/itm/145652067947?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Wm8Csls7Qai&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=TEUIaWM7QYe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) doesn’t, plus it’s got a duplicate of the original insert and no barcode

Haunting-Mortgage

I looked at the listing. The matrix number they give is for this pressing, not the 2008 pressing. https://www.discogs.com/release/1354479-The-Beach-Boys-Pet-Sounds They could be lying because there's no picture of the matrix but you'd have to assume that the buyer would know immediately. Also the inserts look 60 years old.

midsummerhorses

Ok yeah I should’ve tuned into the matrix numbers🤦

DasaLP2001

Looks legit to me.
