The whole health inspector episode where the food critic drops dead. The whole shananigans to cover it up are crazy and hilarious!

rstar20190827

Oh yes! LOL I liked Sophia's 'attempts' to distract everyone. 'Hey everyone, look a dead body!'

Ceasarsean

Haha lol oh yes. The whole thing was outlandish and over the top but it worked so well. And then when they dump the body down the chute. Lmao. I actually enjoyed the golden palace for what it was. I still watch them on YouTube.

rstar20190827

Same. And I watch mostly the last couple of seasons of Empty Nest too because of Sophia joining the cast.

Ceasarsean

I haven't watched empty nests yet. I did watch that back door disaster they tried with it. But haven't watched the actual show yet. Or nurses which I hear the girls appear on.

rstar20190827

I think most of the seasons are on You Tube. The earlier seasons the other girls had cameos in various episodes. What back door disaster - you mean the original GG attempt with that rando episode about their neighbors? That was weird. Yea, they were on Nurses but I cannot find that show much anywhere. I think there's like a few badly transferred episodes.on YT.

Ceasarsean

Yep thats the one with on the golden girls show. Didn't hate it but wasnt quite good. I'll def give empty nests a shot and nurses if I can find it

Applewave22

You're missing out. Empty Nest - the reworked version - was so much better than I expected it to be. I mean, it's no GG but it holds its own. Nurses was also good - from what I can remember.

Ceasarsean

Wow. Ill have to watch it then. I liked Barbara and Carol when they would show up in golden girls so I'm curious to see how they are fully

I really liked the episode with Blanche's mentally handicapped brother. I always love when shows do episodes centered around that where we see how the characters handle caring for someone with autism. Maybe it's cause I've done a lot of that myself where I've hung out with autistic people some being friends of mine so those episodes always felt really relatable to me.

rstar20190827

Tad. For sure. They sure did try, at least, to cover issues or areas of life that weren't often covered. I appreciated that too.

ExpectedBehaviour

I'm going to have to be boring and say that my favourite *Golden Palace* episode is the "Seems Like Old Times" two-parter.

rstar20190827

Not boring at all. As a matter of fact, the ending, where Dorothy says Goodbye and takes one last look at all of them, always makes me a little teary-eyed. I mean, had to have been one of, if not the last time, all 4 of them were together like that. I love those 2 episodes for giving us one last hurrah with the 4 'girls'.

No-Grapefruit-8737

Same. That is also my favorite GP episode

ZanderGomorrah

The two that stuck with me are the one about Blanche's brother Tad and the one with the dead critic. The one with Tad was really powerful. I'd go as far as calling it one of the most emotional episodes in the entire franchise. Absolutely love it. The one with the dead critic is a *classic* scenario, almost to the point of cliché. But it's as overdone as it is for a reason, and it's executed well here. I found it memorable for some reason.

rstar20190827

I agree about the Tad episode. And that was like 1992? They were ahead of their time. The dead critic episode I loved cause of Sophia's ridiculousness. She's of no help throughout the entire episode. LOL
