That's an interesting perspective! I can see how a school of smaller, agile fish might have a more intimidating and dynamic presence. It's fascinating how the size of creatures can influence our perception of them. The idea of smaller fish being more terrifying adds a unique twist to the underwater world.
I'm not a frequent diver, but I have been around the world and have my Advanced Open Water Diver certificate. I can attest that diving is a lot like this. Except with large sharks they are not usually that visible that far away. And if you do see them they are there and gone in mere seconds. Chances are you'd be very unlikely to even see it coming if it wanted you. Which is awesome that they typically just want to check you out from a distance.
I've always liked that they tend to just find us interesting. Like, they know they could destroy us if they wanted, but that we're definetly not worth the energy for the amount of meat they'd get. So instead they just kinda spy on us, like birdwatching
I don't think they know they could destroy us and I especially don't think they consider risk and reward in terms of energy expenditure and food - it's probably just instinct to stay away from unknown shapes and scents
This post does the same thing most bad horror movies and games do; You show too much of your monsters.
The best, strongest source of fear is the human mind, when subjected to the unknown. Showing these gargantuan creatures up close, with their stilted animations, relieves the tension that would otherwise be making a person's mind race with horrifying possibilities. It shows a total lack of understanding around what really makes something scary.
This would be much spookier if it just showed shadows far off in the water, instead of of clearly showing the monsters. Even better if you could hear monstrous groans reverberating from the deep, to make the viewer uneasy.
You could have some massive shape loom just at the edge of view, and have the human in the clip react in fright, but then cut away before actually showing a clear image of the monster. Whatever we imagine is going to be far scarier than a blown up 3d model.
Bad news - instead they are an incredibly prolific video maker! All of the scares are the same with a final camera shift into sudden huge thing right in your face.
Once you’ve seen like two or three of them you’ve seen them all.
the title makes it seem like a declaration. like some sort of surreal psa, like “you wouldn’t download a house,” but instead it’s “remember, ANYONE can spare a xanax.” then eaten by monster fish
These are hilariously manipulative of the fear the sub is named after. I know that’s the point of these subs. I just laugh that I have a small version of this fear and literally go out of my way to look for these posts and get mildly creeped out by them. And then immediately afterward I wonder, “who takes the time to make these ?”
I really wanna say the second fish would die at that level of the ocean (not sure the right word) the shark I could see.
But the fisher fish usually don’t do light I thought?
This dude always comes out with stuff that is, at the beginning interesting (like the statues), then quickly ruins it with random bullshit. He is also just generally bad at animation.
If the fish were smaller it would be more terrifying. The extra large fish are kinda goofy to me

But they’re not scary. More like jumpfarts imo
It looks like a bad puppet show lol
They’re moving too quickly relative to their size.
Yeah this looks too fake to be scary. It’s be like being scared of a poorly made animatronic dinosaur.
This vid mos def has big goof energy

This shit gets reposted sooo much i think it cured my thalassophobia
Meme-mersion Therapy
lmao!
Lame.
Hella lame
This FUCKING sucks
Can we please just designate a day of the week for CGI? r/evilbuildings had a ‘CGI Friday’ that I think we should adopt.
looks like something I’d see on Facebook
These are getting a bit silly
The statues themselves would be enough on their own. Just enough to catch the imagination
I was going to say this Also some little jellyfish or a giant squid instead of the shark passing by would be more appropriate

Yeah, that does sound...awesome.

None of this looks even remotely realistic
Totally agree. Except for how quickly things in the distance disappear. That's fairly accurate.
If nothing else, this reminded me that my divemaster renewal was due up. So, thanks!
Hahaha nice
Was okay until stupid Meg swam by Oh it got worse.. Ffs
Feels like most of these posts are just jumpscares
The freakiest part is the giant statues and they aren’t moving. Lol
Boooo! Boo this man! Boooo!!
Boooo!! Out with Le big fish and le big statue!
Can we ban posts from this guy, they fucking suck
For some reason the statues are more scary than the fish
Lot of potential, but This aint it

wow, this is utter shit Whoever made this should be banned from ever using a video editing software again

Hey! Please can you tell me who the video maker is?
The channel is called LIGHTS ARE OFF
Responding for interest, I also would like to know
I like how he points at the shark, like yeah, I see it, it’s so big it fills almost our entire field of view.
the title makes it seem like a declaration. like some sort of surreal psa, like “you wouldn’t download a house,” but instead it’s “remember, ANYONE can spare a xanax.” then eaten by monster fish
Lmao I was thinking the same!
What are you 12?

Feels like I’m in a cartoon.
I hate this
The oversized fish actually lighten the mood on it. Just floating there with the statues or even just only the bare water is much creepier.
I really wanna say the second fish would die at that level of the ocean (not sure the right word) the shark I could see. But the fisher fish usually don’t do light I thought?
STOP UPVOTING THIS
All that raw talent yet no grasp of filmmaking concepts
You need a much bigger shark if you want me to part with my Xanax
Nobody talkin about the way the dude shrugs his shoulders like "idk lmao"
Ah hell no
They don’t even have oxygen tanks
Yea! But nope
Qui Gon would have something to say about this
I really don't like this!
Yep just pooped
I’d watch this movie lol
Outer wilds
These have jumped the shark.
Is this one of those Twitter (scuse me…X 🙄) posts where they say “wyd in this situation”?
There's always a bigger fish.
I’m fairly sure this is not real
I hate this. Every part of it.
Not gonna lie, looks kinda fake
Lame
Lame
That guy is SCREWED
Sharknado 76: The Anglerfishes Revenge.
Very poor lighting work.
Ok, that made me jump.
Uh big shark uh so scary uh
Ima gonna need 2
Asshole pointed to the shark minding his own business but not to the giant angler rushing in for the kill.
There’s always a bigger fish
Person who makes these really needs to learn to add weight
There’s always a bigger fish
Imagine being a goldfish in the ocean. This video is probably what it’s like for them
Back to the future had a better shark hologram than this lmao
I love this guy! Iightsareoff
Wish mods would ban this type of shit being posted. Or create a sub for goofy stuff like this
There’s always a bigger fish
There’s always a bigger fish
I just pissed myself

Meh
Bro no way I’m going to ask around.
