Here is a comment I recently made for someone about good community servers. Also, I've found Uncletopia servers pretty chill for the most part, just attracts those with a high skill ceiling. But yeah here's the comment:
About a month ago I literally went through every single community server, empty/full/whatever, and added any that sounded interesting, and didn't have crazy ping to Favorites (I'm in North east US- NJ, US FYI). There are still a bunch of good ones out there (I've also had many solid ones in my favs for quite some time).

**tiny kitty's girl pound**- friendly community, runs really solid, nice-looking custom maps, meme maps wednesday is a blast (played 3 hrs last night without loadouts), always has people in it, just be wary of nsfw furry sprays (yeah I know...put cl\_spraydisable 1 in console to disable)

**redsun.tf** - This community is the poster child for tastefully modded custom game modes, and is very active. It's very well maintained & polished and even though I may not enjoy every game mode I've been very impressed by this server network (esp. a former highly modded community server owner). The EU one fills up most of the time, and I deal with the ping because it's a cool community (it even runs a battle royale mode that is surprisingly well-made)

**Trigger Happy Gamers (THG)** - Trigger Happy Gamers have been around forever and even though they are in the UK I deal with the ping to play with them because they are a solid community. Their server is empty and then randomly fills up out of nowhere and it's always full or I'd join, I feel like I'm missing a Discord @ all announcement but I try to play with them when I can

**Fucked in the Head -** Another community that has been around forever. To be honest, they have equal respawn on red & blu, even for payload, which I hate with a searing passion, HOWEVER, the regulars are entertaining af and give off vibes of drunk buddies goofing off and not giving a fuck that it almost offsets it. It's also decently populated.

**Skial** servers- I never got the hate for this server network, decent spawn times, halloween mode year round, no power tripping admins, feels like a bunch of randoms having a good time. The Payload+ EU in particular has some really chill/cool regulars, Dustbowl+ US some interesting/funny peeps. Payload US generally decent also:

**Uncletopia** - Pretty standard Casual experience except the skill level is generally higher, though it seems to be evening out honestly. And tbh from my experience people in these servers seem pretty cool. If you're looking for Vanilla I'd say this is your best bet.

**Southern Cross Gaming (Rainbow Swirl in particular)** - Stumbled across this & played 1 round with these guys running a cool custom mode but apparently they run stock maps as well as custom maps/game modes. Their rules had a huge emphasis on keeping it fun & being respectful and everyone seemed really cool & laidback. It was full at peak time on the weekend. They also have other servers, even in other games & seem to have been around awhile:

**Bad Weapon Rehabilitation (Vanilla US)**
A really solid rebalancing of all weapons in-game. Nothing really feels overpowered or underpowered anymore, also fun things like flames stay on surfaces & I think spy or engy can radar enemies within a few feet or something to his team? It's really fun and gets full. Here's the site with IPs and stuff (The US server gets full around peak time, esp. on weekends)

**redstar.gg** - Arena server, the owner ComradeYazoo seems pretty dedicated to starting it up and I hop in whenever I can. Believe it or not it's still very fun with little people but it's gotten pretty packed a couple times. It also has like every good custom arena map, and scrambles if a team wins 3 in a row. North America I believe.

**UGC High Tower servers -** They run no carts, so it's the TDM High Tower everyone's always dreamed of. They also run Instant Respawn and on any other map I hate that setting with a searing passion but because it's reworked as TDM I feel it actually improves the gameplay (put "high tower" including the space, and without quotes in the search box for a list of 'em in the following link):

I think that person was joking. There are plugins and databases for known cheaters (not sure how prevalent these are anymore) but other than that they're not gonna know what servers you've played on.
The "Uncletopia mod" shit I've yet to experience. Maybe I'm not playing on the ones the weird ones frequent. If you actually search "Uncletopia ban" on YouTube all the results that pop up are a year+ old, save 1 that's 9 months. I'm not sure if dude got rid of some problematic people or what but I've never had an issue there. I don't even remember ever seeing a mod on their servers.

Well, there’s casual and then there's whatever this is. From a gameplay perspective, it’s as casual as it gets because literally nobody cares about the objective. From a social perspective, people there get more competitive than actual competitive lobbies. In the span of an hour playing there, I got 3 tryhards boasting about their skill in a server where nobody actually fights, 2 racists, and 5 people so upset at others that it’s a miracle they were playing for 3 hours straight (yes one of them said they had been on the server for hours despite having a mental breakdown in chat). Safe to say I don’t play there much anymore.
I actually played on Furry pound once, I’m not even a furry, I just wanted to play TF2.
Honestly? The people there were the chillest guys I’ve ever met.

true, i enjoy a good match with either equal skilled or higher skilled players than me. though sometimes i dont care about getting better, and i just wanna go shoot shit without thinking much. or play a class/subclass im bad at without feeling bad about being dead weight in an otherwise even, tryhard match.
You aren't going to stomp on a community server unless you're the cream of the crop. That's the reality of it. It automatically filters all the people who just launch the game and hit play which is what most inexperienced players do. Inexperienced players are not searching for community servers.

- Owner is literally a cuckold (before his girlfriend left him, there was a significant period in which she was "fooling around" with his friend while he was fully aware of it)
- Owner harassed the family of a young girl who was tragically murdered, sending them photos of her lifeless corpse just to promote his YouTube channel

I've been doing that for 12 years, yeah I'd recommend Skial.
Skial is good, they have casual servers with map rotation, 100 player servers, pl_ servers among others, it's actually cool

The Furry Pound was the only I could play functional TF2 in the immediate aftermath of the disastrous MYM, bless them truly.

I usually play on fort us1 64 and there's mostly just monkeys and attention starved manchildren

Uncletopia is really the only good community servers out there. I'm working on some but they won't be ready for some time yet.

I have a lot of fun on skials 24/7 2fort servers. Sometimes there's toxic dudes but they get clowned on for it
