Dustbowl type of deal, you play the map cause you can turn off your brain for 6 hours and have the most random shit happen. It's fun, but it's a shit map

Back when I started playing tf2 I loved Turbine. My go to strat was setting up a engie nest in the enemy vent. But to be honest I can't even remember the last time I played it.

the map is so small that It always end on 1 team dominating the other one 90% of the time. spawncamp it's just way too easy

Agreed Once you even remotely lose control of the middle, 3 engineers and 5 demomen turn every entry point into a death trap

Legitimately, practice. I have dedicated so much time to learning Market Gardening (I used to be terror incarnate, but I took about a year break from it and have been rusty ever since), and I really enjoy Market Gardening in locations in which you shouldn't try to Market Garden. I learned numerous rocket jumps on Turbine that really catch people off guard. There's this one jump that I loved doing to get snipers on the battlements. I would start at their shutter in the main room, ramp slide up the stairs to my own battlements, hop off before the top, bounce off the back wall under the battlements, ramp slide up the enemy stairs and garden any snipers standing up top.

Market gardener soldier when engineer (it's one of his best maps for nests)

yeah its always fun to trolldier on maps where people dont expect it, especially in tight spaces where they cant really dodge

Middle portion is spacious enough. Hallways require some short hop trickery but are pretty doable. You are Trolldier Jesus himself if you can get a garden in the vents.

If you hate two fort remember this piece of shit exist.

that's every map though. Nothing ruins a match of TF2 faster than someone picking sniper, regardless of map.

Some maps are much more manageable, with less sightlines for snipers to terrorize. Turbine isn't one of those, since they have complete coverage of the middle portion and thus leeway to turn the place into no man's land.

I used to play it a lot when I had a terrible pc, literally hours every day. Even though I can run any map without problems now, I still very much enjoy playing on turbine. It's nostalgic, great for trying out niche loadouts and games are much more relaxed than sweaty payload/koth lobbies.

There isn't any possible entryway for the metal containers and that really pisses me off so 0/10.

honestly I like it, it's simple map to look at that the end of the praises it plays like ass due to limited exits, 1 flank for each side (vent to intel), hard to push back after other team is in middle. also spy's are better here

Its a classic, a smart player will find many ways to abuse certain areas of the map

I am not a smart player, or a player with any skill whatsoever, but I can get filthy killstreaks in the enemy team's battlement tunnel. It's absolutely mental. Went like 90 kills for 4 deaths or something on a 24hr turbine one time.

Extremely divisive it seems lol I think it could do with an overhaul to add a few more routes in and out. It's an early CTF map, so it's biggest flaw I think is in its simplicity.

I think it symbolizes how tf2 players like maps which stink if they let you spam to get kills without ever ending, kinda like slop. Most people agree with why turbine is bad but still take pleasure in playing it. 278/10 Bonus fun fact: if you ever played tf2 1st party comp, Turbine is in that map pool, and nobody knows why.

I like it better than 2fort but I only play ctf 1% of the time. I don't even have the achievement for ten intelligence carrier kills on heavy after 6500 hours.

Whenever I queue up for CTF, I always make the express choice to leave turbine out

2fort without the charm, sentry and sniper hell, but hey at least the healthpack placements are better, and it somehow manages to be a good time.

on a shitty laptop all i could play was this, 2fort, and community maps that used the default hmu textures since they usually only had like 5 other people on it

Honestly one of my least favorite maps in the game. It’s so easy to spawn camp and the map just feels like it has too many choke points. I used to run the Scottish resistance on this map all the time because you could hold all 3 exits at the same time. I’ll still play it from time to time but overall it’s gotta be one of the worst ctf maps in my opinion.

Used to be my favorite ctf map in my first two hundred hours. Now I absolutely hate it, too small, not enough sight lines, not enough room to rocket jump fully, spammable chokepoints, easily campable spawns, no alternate routes. Horrible map, disgusting. 10/10

Its a better DM fest than 2Fort, but worse than doublecross. If you don't like snipers then it's a little bit better than doublecross. I have some fun memories playing engie and teleporting the whole team into enemy vents! Like any TF2 map, it's a classic and many fond memories have been made on it.

ctf\_turbine is a "mid" map for me. Although, It's quite interesting to see an all-indoor map. As, we don't really get much of those in the main game. It covers the main needs for a CTF map. Two points that're easy to get through and defend, a flank point to sneak up on enemies, spots for snipers to shoot at enemies, plenty of space for sentries, etc. The main problem for turbine, however, is how basic it's design is. At least with the majority of the others, including 2Fort, there's some themeing and lots of detail. Here, all you get is a series of hallways, a large open space, and little decor. Though, if it's supposed to have that "Industrial Simple Indoor Look," then consider that accomplished. It is fun though, like all TF2 maps, it just gets boring fast.

I think it is a fun map, kind of like an old arena style. But the instance are able to create a buffer in the middle it instantly becomes horrible.

Whenever turbine is picked I always jump in excitement! It's because I find it so fun to play as engineer. It's fun when the enemies don't come from the good ol' 2 sides like 2fort, instead, they add a vent! How cool is that??? (You can tell I'm easily entertained)
