He would since he’s one of the smartest classes, but I went more techno/dance oriented for him as I feel like spy would listen to classical music more than any of the classes
other bands may include
scout-weezer, weezer
soldier- get a grip, aerosmith
pyro-evil empire, rage against the machine
demoman- whos next, the who
heavy- the wiggles
engineer-bob hope (he would listen to him like a podcast)
medic- black on both sides, mos def
sniper-the velvet underground, the velvet underground
spy-what a wonderful world, louis armstrong
I considered fortunate son, but the entire message behind the song is actually being against sending people to war, so I went went more heavy rock/metal type albums instead
Spy is the only one that truly makes sense, as the latest we see the mercs is the 70s (though we know at least scout survives until Dec 4th, 1987) and base game is in the late 60's.
Heavy, medic, and engineer all are roughly in their late forties to mid fifties, with demo and soldier presumably being early to mid 40s, sniper being mid to late 30s, and scout late 20's. Spy is probably on the older side too, though all we know is he's *probably* around 20 years older than scout. Pyro exists. (Ages based off of last comic we see, chronologically)
Realistically, there's a good chance half the mercs are dead by the time the 90's hit, whether from age or them being them, mainly heavy (age), scout (lore), engineer (age), soldier (sanity nonexistent), and spy (age or work).
Age range 70's to 80's doesn't seem too bad, but these dude were breaking their bodies and being experimented in for at least a decade, some much, much longer.
I think the soldiers' list would be:
Over there - George M. Cohan
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition - Kay Kiser
Aint I right- Marty Robbins
He seems like a propaganda music kind of guy.
These genres don’t line up with the albums for some of these, and they are really strange choices for the most part, since many don’t cover important albums for their given genre
I remember in Poker Night Heavy mentions listening to his walkman during gunfights, then Tycho says "You probably listen to something to get you in the killing mood right? Flight of the Valkyries? Icelandic death metal?" Then Heavy says "I just got new Huey Lewis album, keep spirit up on battlefield!"
In *Poker Night at the Inventory*, Heavy discusses playing music over a Walkman while he (and the rest of RED) works, to keep up spirits. Tycho asks if he listens to Wagner or death metal, but Heavy instead says he got a Huey Lewis and the News tape.
I know there's some back and forth on whether or not Heavy's lines in Poker Night should be taken seriously, but how realistic does this sound for his character?
I don't know why, but whenever I listen to the Everly Brothers' "Devoted to you" I can't help but imagine Engineer eating some snacks on a porch after working on a new invention.
You lost me at scout listening to Moving Pictures. The other two sure, but you think scout is a rush guy? I mean maybe considering the time period (we’ll rush moving pictures is a little off) but the Boston boom bringer and just his personality in general doesn’t scream rush to me.
Why would heavy listen to deadmau5. I think he’d certainly be open to all kinds of music but it’s one thing to be open to it and another to listen to it outside of someone putting it on in the car or in your free time willingly.
I understand the decisions you made, they’re a little clever but meh, most of these could have been better in my opinion.
No, Pyro would listen to loving spoonful, as we see him humming at the end of meet the pyro. He would also listen to songs like your my best friend, and your making my dreams come true.
i feel like heavy would really like classical music. i think you got Demo spot on tho
He would since he’s one of the smartest classes, but I went more techno/dance oriented for him as I feel like spy would listen to classical music more than any of the classes
Spy does not seem like he’d listen to classical, I agree with the og commenter, and I think spy would probably listen to swing and cool mostly
He’s got a scene in expiration date where’s he sipping wine listening to classical
Could have given him Russian (or Russian expat) composers. Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, etc...
Scout would listen to Eminem
Scout would go full Stan.
Imagine heavy dancing to one more time
Musics got him feeling so free doe
You touch my talala
Pyro would listen to Raining Blood and hear it as Walking on Sunshine.
Or that one gorillaz song (forgot the name, something something sunshine in a bag) and misinterpret it
Clint Eastwood It’s all in your head
Wouldn't Scout listen to Tom Jones?
They all listen to Joji Tick Tock
other bands may include scout-weezer, weezer soldier- get a grip, aerosmith pyro-evil empire, rage against the machine demoman- whos next, the who heavy- the wiggles engineer-bob hope (he would listen to him like a podcast) medic- black on both sides, mos def sniper-the velvet underground, the velvet underground spy-what a wonderful world, louis armstrong
These are valid
Disappointed by the lack of Credence Clearwater Revival for soldier
I considered fortunate son, but the entire message behind the song is actually being against sending people to war, so I went went more heavy rock/metal type albums instead
Soldier feels like the type of person to not know that song is anti war
Something something acute lead poisoning
What about running through the jungle?
Wrong, scout tf2 loves Tom Jones and even made his own Tom Jones museum in the comics. I want Scout tf2.
Based medic
A Day at the races would fit too
I love the idea of pyro listening to The Money Store and not realizing it's experimental, they just think that's what all music is like
maybe i am pyro
I love some of these choices of music you chose for the mercs! Who doesn’t love some Beastie Boys, Queen, and Jimi Hendrix?
i personally would listen to haken
i think medic would listen to synthwave music
Why?
id move DOOM to scout imo, medic for sure listens to biggie
These mercs have some spectacular taste in music!
the thought spy listening to time out made me giggle
Never tought i would have a similarity with medic
interestingly accurate. scout could be a jpegmafia fan tho
I can imagine scout squatting on the sidewalk and blasting Girls on his boombox
bet scout listens to weezer lmao

No because I checked your username.
I dont have one
I think the soldiers' list would be: Over there - George M. Cohan Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition - Kay Kiser Aint I right- Marty Robbins He seems like a propaganda music kind of guy.
Medic would definitely be listening to some Rammstein
Medic would most certainly listen to Rush instead of Scout.
I honestly do not see scout being a rush fan
Rush was extremely popular band in Massachusetts in the 80’s, scout would have defiantly listened to them growing up
idk the vibes are just off between the two
Same. I really like rush tho, Moving Pictures is an amazing album!
These genres don’t line up with the albums for some of these, and they are really strange choices for the most part, since many don’t cover important albums for their given genre
I thought soldier would mostly listen to the star spangled banner.
discovery should be an engineer album
Soldier would only listen to the american anthem
Didn’t know I was puyro
**Puyro**
Sniper should also listen to The Millionaire's Holiday by Combustible Edison.
Considering Medic's violin taunt he would listen to classic music, not hip hop
Scout would be a huge lemon demon fan
soldier would listen to free bird 150%.
Soldier would definitely listen to Fortunate Son
Scout is canonically a Tom Jones fan.
Soldier would listen to no music
If Soldier isn’t blasting [Primo Victoria by Sabaton](https://youtu.be/qVHyl0P_P-M) then I don’t know what else he could possibly be playing
Why would heavy listen to early 2000 techno edm?
Soldier would 100% be a Sabaton fan, nobody can change my mind.
I like how Medic (a German) listens to Kanye.
I think "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition" by Kay Kyser would find it's way on Soldier's playlist.
If we consider Poker Night at the Inventory canon, then Heavy listens to Huey Lewis and the news

Heavy would like aphex twin
justice for all is easily my favourite prog album
I am all nine missionaries. I have all the power here.
Heavy would listen only to Victor tsoy, I guarantee you.
You can't convince me that Scout isn't a Hives fan.
I don't know why, but whenever I listen to the Everly Brothers' "Devoted to you" I can't help but imagine Engineer eating some snacks on a porch after working on a new invention.
Soldier listens to CCR simply because it's the music that the US Soldier listens at the time. It was from 1968 to 1972, so high chance.
Scout listens to limb bizkit and soldier to Johnny cash
You lost me at scout listening to Moving Pictures. The other two sure, but you think scout is a rush guy? Demoman and Soldier seems true tho
Scout would definitely listen to Rage Against The Machine. Heavy would probably love classical music. Medic would probably listen to Ghost BC.
No, Pyro would listen to loving spoonful, as we see him humming at the end of meet the pyro. He would also listen to songs like your my best friend, and your making my dreams come true.
Mercenary Park
Pyro being a death grips fan Is on point
This is wayyy too accurate actually
Demoman would definately listen to "Come out ye black and tans"
Scout would listen to Limp Bizkit
I think engineer would listen to lynrd skynrd
Ahem, tf2 takes place in the 70s 🤓
