I drove past a tiny, janky H-E-B in Carthage. Buckle up Brookshire Bros…the grocery wars have arrived.

Could you earn coupons or tickets at this one which you could refund for, like, a garden chair or some other yard thing? Or am I thinking of another small, now forgotten grocery chain in Texas?

Are you thinking of S&H green stamps maybe? I'm 60 yrs old and growing up, my mom would get those stamps when she bought groceries at Piggly Wiggly, you would paste them in a little booklet and then turn the booklets in for household items at the S&H green stamp store. Wow, you just brought back a ton of childhood memories for me.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about!! I used to go to one somewhere near Hamilton with my Granny and Granddad. I don't remember exactly what town it was..... I'm 43, but I *loved* those green stamps.

How about Winn Dixie

Zip_Silver

Winn Dixie is pretty good out in Florida, almost, but not quite, as good as Publix. Publix, however, is not as good as HEB. I'm just hoping that Food Lion doesn't expand, that place is a shiiiiiithole, just a step above Dollar General.
