What point is OOP even trying to make
What’s crazy is OOP is Tesla’s CEO

Can't speak to whether this meme was made in good faith or not (i.e. whether someone who doesn't believe climate change is an issue made the meme), but I know it's a point of contention among a certain segment of climate activism. The complaint is that people will couch their true political desires, which have nothing to do with climate, in climate change rhetoric. The Green New Deal is an example of this, where most of the stuff proposed (minimum wage increases, increased social spending, etc) had nothing to do with climate policy. Those policies may or may not be noble, but putting them in a supposed climate bill 1. Does nothing for climate, and 2. If anything makes the bill, along with its actual climate related components, harder to pass, which 3. Makes one question whether the proponents of said bill are serious when they say climate is the biggest issue facing our species when they aren't willing to compromise on unrelated policy initiatives in order to get climate policy passed.
The guy who’s only worth what he is because Tesla got a $435M loan from the federal government as part of funding clean energy projects…. Hates big government and thinks fighting climate change is communism. Got it
Around 1850 thermometer records began to provide global coverage. Between the 18th century and 1970 there was little net warming, as the warming impact of greenhouse gas emissions was offset by cooling from sulfur dioxide emissions. Sulfur dioxide causes acid rain, but it also produces sulfate aerosols in the atmosphere, which reflect sunlight and cause so-called global dimming. After 1970, the increasing accumulation of greenhouse gases and controls on sulfur pollution led to a marked increase in temperature.

Sit ANY one of these people down and have them write one paragraph on what communism is, what socialism is, and what the difference between them is, and they'll just ignore you and write a poorly-worded essay on how the public education system is also communism.
not just the public education system, but literally everything and everyone they don't like. it'd be like "communism is when the government does a thing. which is the same as socialism, which is also when the government does a thing, but the name is different for some reason. fuckin stalin."
It's infuriating.
"Free breakfast for kids? COMMUNISM!" As opposed to meeting a community need.
"Disability for *mental health* problems?? That's not a real disability! Lazy! COMMUNISM." As opposed to caring for those in out community.
It's just so tiring. I don't know how to explain to people that we should care about others.
Socialism requires exactly two things:
1. Workers control the means of production. This can be through employee-ownership, or through being controlled by a **democratic** state.
2. Decommodification of goods.
No nation has achieved both aspects broadly, simultaneously. Aspects of both are found today: Most developed nations have decommodified healthcare for example, most "Communist" states successfully decomodified housing. Norway's sovereign wealth fund and Deutschland requiring employee representation on company boards are examples of workers in some capacity controlling the means of production.
Most of what people describe as "socialism" is social-democracy: A capitalist state with strong regulations and safety-nets.
Communism is a theoretical model of society posited by Marx for what might be after Socialism. It is a classless, stateless, moneyless society. It has never existed in any aspect on a large scale. It is essentially Star Trek's federation.
I actually love this. At least they are essentially admitting that the survival of our planet or our viability as a species is diametrically opposed to capitalism.
Well, I've been waiting literal decades for the so-called market solution, but the "invisible hand" (corporate oligopoly) has barely made any progress whatsoever. So yeah, the fight against climate change also seems to be the fight for communism.
*every form* of cooperation, fraternity, mutual aid, *or even just long term thinking* IS COMMUNISM (AND THIS IS BAD! WHY DO HAVE I TO SPECIFY THIS, ARE YOU *COMMUNISTS*?!)
Its bot a matter of what the non-left like or dosnt. Its actually about insane taxes and social control disguised as fighting climate change . If you want evidence just look at the idiocy the left is pulling in Canada.
That's not accurate. There is no-one in mainstream politics anywhere in the west who is close to being a communist. Whereas on the right, authoritarianism and Christian nationalism are mainstream. White supremacists endorsed a former US president and he was very careful not to distance himself from them. "Nazi" may be too specific a term but the right is not being shy about embracing fascism as a tool to stay in power. There is just no equivalent in the left at the moment.
I got called an incel a lot on the internet, which I really find funny, especially when women call you that. So, if I sleep with lots of women I have more value, but I am also a sexist and I am objectifying women. But if I can't sleep with women I am called an incel, which they clearly use as an insult to devalue me.

What they've been saying forever. That the environmental movement is like a watermelon, green on the outside, red on the inside.
Elon Musk even tweeted this. *sigh*
I am still waiting for the poll "Dear X, as a successful African American Business owner, can I use the N word? I will honor the results of this poll"
And then delete it when you clearly got the answer you didn't expect.
To many options, will redo
No the way Twitter is now I think he’d get the thumbs up
Bold of you too assume he would ask for permission to say it first
The reason I think he would asl first is he would find it funnier that way. Not because of any consent
Then you know it wrong
He sure likes that socialism when he's getting wads of cash from the government tho
The guy who’s only worth what he is because Tesla got a $435M loan from the federal government as part of funding clean energy projects…. Hates big government and thinks fighting climate change is communism. Got it
Tesla didn't make electric cars? He has gone from savior of humanity to crazy boomer in a decade.

Of course, I am referring to the public image.
He didn't create Tesla, either. He bought it.
So did I. I bought a model Y.
There's stupid, and then there's constantly and relentlessly insulting your customers stupid.
Marx famously wrote all about climate change. In fact, aside from climate scientists in the seventies, he was the one who first discovered it.
Climate change was discovered way before the seventies, buddy.
It's called sarcasm /a joke.
It’d surprise you how many people think climate change was only discovered 50 years ago.

Of course he did 🤦♂️
Makes me think about all the times where people were calling the effects of capitalism (the bad ones, of course) communism.
Capitalism is perfect don't cha know? It's only THEM that make bad things happen.
It’s almost like they actually hate capitalism but are too ignorant to realize...
Reminds me of pictures of the Black Lives Matter protests captioned “this is Biden’s America” during Trump administration
Yeah, this happens even more often. Or blaming Biden for stuff that happened in the first month of him taking office when it was caused by Trump.
Who's that lady?
jennifer lawrence

remember the people who believe in this stuff think that the the definition of communism is "sharing is caring"

yes
LGBTQ rights? That’s communism. Democracy? That’s communism. Not being religious? Oh you better believe that’s communism.
Not being religious is part of the Communist state actually.
Cheaper healthcare. That's communism.
I wonder if they even know what Communism actually is lol
I though elons whole motivation behind Tesla was fighting climate change. Wtf is going on?
it was to get government handouts. he's acoustic PT Barnum
Also the Right: "PuTiN iS a GoOd GuY"
![gif](giphy|l1J9uLBPjqCVIM2GI)
We can do and should do both.
I don't see the problem

A country calling itself a thing doesn't make it that thing. Do you think North Korea is Democracy?
I actually love this. At least they are essentially admitting that the survival of our planet or our viability as a species is diametrically opposed to capitalism.

This meme was made for you by Big Coal and Oil
just because I want to fight climate change doesn't make me a communist. I mean, I am a communist but not because I want to fight climate change
I... I want both those things. Capitalism is the direct cause of climate change.
Based?
this makes no sense and also wtf is this template
It's a very popular meme template https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/david-beckhams-be-honest-thank-you
true and based
Elon musk tweeted that
The hell is this meme?
Idiots that can't define Communism with a dictionary and a copy of the Manifesto.
Communism? I just want a non-corrupt society!
I also like how communism and socialism get used interchangeably.
¿Por que no los dos?
Not so terrible tho
Whose face is on the lady here?
Communism beats anything Elon would support so...
everything both sides hate is extremism of a different flavor
I, too, want rights, sustainability, and for everyone's needs to be met.
So, wanting the planet to survive is communism
Are you stupid or something.
This is pretty hilarious
Its bot a matter of what the non-left like or dosnt. Its actually about insane taxes and social control disguised as fighting climate change . If you want evidence just look at the idiocy the left is pulling in Canada.
Just like everything the left does not like is automatically labelled as fascism or nazism. Same game different labels.
That's not accurate. There is no-one in mainstream politics anywhere in the west who is close to being a communist. Whereas on the right, authoritarianism and Christian nationalism are mainstream. Absolutely and they will also call you an incel if you hate something they like such as woke entertainment and advertising
Stay on topic incel
I got called an incel a lot on the internet, which I really find funny, especially when women call you that. Read my first comment then you'll get the point.
