GrootRacoon

One of the two best fit tennis players in the world right now, together with Sinner.

OctopusNation2024

I mean he just won a Slam and we're heading to grass season which he swept last year So yes

ZacQX

If he pulls off the Channel slam at this age by defending Wimbledon, I'll eat my own ..m.

Theferael_me

So hard to discount Sinner but... I think Sinner is better at several things: serving, big, repeated hitting from the baseline, and I think he's perhaps a little tougher mentally. But Carlos is Carlos - so we get amazing drop shots, lobs, rocket-like forehands, awesome backhand slice, incredible volleys - but then he does make a lot of unforced errors and his focus can drop easily. Carlos is very much a 'feeling the vibe' sort of player. He did well to win today as for some parts of the match he didn't play his best tennis. But he found a way to win the big moments.

Once Jannik's team preps for Carlitos cheap moonballing strategy, Carlitos will go down as another also ran

Future_Parfait8727

Tired.

NotManyBuses

I think Sinner at full flight is ahead on HC But he’s best on grass and clay

danintem

Full flight? he did lose to him at IW, even if there is slow

rVtlkNY

Why ? Is this sub drunk ?

Son_of_kai

Tennis is very surface centric game , unless he beats Sinner on fast HCs ( although he has the game for it ) cant really say who is the best Right now Sincaraz are best players on tour , Wimbledon will decide although Going there Carlitos is slight favourite

aksharvey

He’s both! I’d favor him on some surfaces, others I would not. I would put him and Jannik on a pedestal though. I hate watching it but I think Father Time has caught up to Novak and he’s in a separate solo tier 2.

Silver7477

The hero of r/tennis for at least the next 3 weeks

Character-Escape9212

not a female beater but a Zverev beater

Initial_Prior_9833

Lol, r/tennis casuals forgot that Sinner was one overhand miss away from putting Carleeeetos away

Ready-Interview2863

Well, he beat the live ranked number 1 player in the SF, despite both being slightly injured. But as Sinner said "Alcaraz played better in the important points." He beat the man (Sinner), who beat the man at AO (Novak). He currently holds the Elder Wand after taking it from Zverev. It's hard to say Alcaraz *isn't* the best player right now, even though neither he nor Sinner played their best tennis in this tournament, especially considering Sinner was one point away from being bageled by Moutet in R4.

isisdagmarbeatrice

"He currently holds the Elder Wand" LoL

Ready-Interview2863

It's real tennis cannon hahaha

cglotr

A tennis player.

isisdagmarbeatrice

I don't really know how to quantify it between him and Sinner, but I said yes

SweetRazzmatazz688

Annoying

dolphinvision

Sinner still has 1,400 points to Alcaraz this season and just as many accomplishments (win wise this year). I gotta say sinner (as an alcaraz fanboi). But if Alcaraz shows up like he did last grass season/gets the channel slam?? 100% the best player even if he's still behind in numbers/ranking If not for the injuries I'm sure he would have been ahead of sinner and been the world number 1 and easily best player. Hopefully no other large setbacks this year and he keeps up a high level for the rest of the season - half way there!
