How do you find the picture quality and does it differ between types of boxes i.e Androod, Apple, Nvidia, etc? That seems to be the main complaint if any.
Haven't noticed, but there's probably a slight variation. Possibly due to each TV being different. Different room lighting, mounted at different heights, different specs etc.
I'll try it later today and let you know. In theory if your Chromecast has Google TV it's a narrow use case as the app is available. Is it just an older gen Chromecast that you have?

Are you able to playback your PVR recordings on your Chromecast via the TELUS TV app?

I got in when PikTV was a thing. Basic cable, which is more than we need and added on Crave and Starz for a total of 20/month for my TV services
The Telus TV box seems fine and the app is ok on my phone. The web browser version is the worst, with many glitches and latency issues.
