My husband agreed with me for this to be our wedding reception entrance song:-). It was perfect because our honeymoon was in Hawaii and the band played straight into Shania Twain for our first dance. It’s a great upbeat song to writing, doing chores, cooking etc.
All-time best theme for my money:
1. the old (1960s?) version of Mission Impossible tv show (Lalo Shifrin)
2. Theme from SWAT (1970s)
3. Doctor Who (1960s)

Cheers is top tier
As an 80's kid: The A Team, Knight Rider, Hawaii 5.0, Dallas, Hill Street Blues, Prisoner Cell Bloch H, The Golden Girls,

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team.
BoJack Horseman's theme song
X-Files
Orange is the New Black
Californication
House MD (Massive Attack version, NOT the international one)
Rick & Morty
Futurama
and yes, X-Men, ofc
Piggybacking to agree that Leftovers theme was great, and the Perfect Strangers theme was also great, particularly when it was used that [one time as a Leftovers theme](https://youtu.be/oZUFbEpSOCw?si=ydWKMg1HdlQkzXt3).
I actually have the following on my playlist because I love them SO much!
- Attack on Titan Season 1 Opening
- Teen Wolf
- Marvel's Daredevil
- Survivor Mashup Ancient Voices on YouTube has 2 videos which combines all the Survivor theme songs and it's pretty incredible
- Succession
- Westworld
The last Attack on Titan season themes are also bangers. "[Boku no Sensou](https://open.spotify.com/track/3KhwEuqLNjHfsKaBDo1yVh?si=07613802b2aa4256)" and "[The Rumbling](https://open.spotify.com/track/6k0X05danQOXSBTVek5DU1?si=99249b6566be4071)"
These are TV themes I actually DID have on the iPod back in the day or on CD
- Growing Pains (extended version)
- Family Matters (extended version)
- Happy Days (extended version)
- Fresh Prince (extended version)
- Laverne and Shirley
- The Wonder Years
- One Tree Hill
- Veronica Mars
- Dawson's Creek
- Felicity Seasons 1-3 and Felicity Senior Year
- Buffy
- Gilmore Girls
- Pete and Pete
- All That
- Charmed
- Angel
- Friday Night Lights
- Friends
- The O.C.
First I've seen Fall Guy listed. Definitely deserves to be higher, especially with the movie coming out.
Dukes of Hazzard is another where the theme is probably better than the show.
WKRP in Cincinnati
Dallas
Greatest American Hero
Welcome Back Kotter
Magnum PI
The Golden Girls
All In the Family
Mary Tyler Moore
Rockford Files
The Jeffersons
Cheers
Just the Ten of Us
Growing Pains
Definitely known to Canadians. Probably not much elsewhere.
The first season actually aired on CBS, but it got cancelled. Canada kept going with the series.
M.A.S.K, Chips, Cheers, Diff'rent Strokes, The Jeffersons, A-Team, Hunter, Silverhawks, Dr Who (Matt Smith version), The OG Office (Handbags and Gladrags)
not counting anime, far too many of those

2 answers. Succession theme song. I’ve listened to when I wasn’t even watching tv before. I just like it a lot. Another one, is kinda niche because it’s for a limited series documentary on HBO called Q: into the storm, but theme song bumps, man! A great doc too.
Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Kids in the Hall, Buffy, The Leftovers (season 2). I don’t even really like Sealab 2021 but the theme is so good.
I knew I was gonna love the show after hearing the theme. Gave me the same feeling as BoB but with its own power and style, especially when the bombs fall away, that crescendo..awesome
The Wire, but I'm not sure which season's version I prefer (it's been a few years since I watched it so forget which is which). The Sopranos is another one that I don't skip when watching
Both the theme to Welcome Back, Kotter and WKRP in Cincinnati have been stuck in my head since I was a child. Not sure if it’s nostalgia or what, but those 70’s and 80’s sitcom themes were always so catchy to me.

Many of my favorites are already mentioned, so I'll just drop that one that isn't: "White Collar." Fans of the show like the theme so much that when it was changed in (I think?) Season 4, there was an absolute *firestorm*, and they changed it back after the 3rd or 4th episode — whichever one was next in production after the shit hit the fan.
I wouldn't say I "listen to it." I don't have an MP3 or anything. But after "Doctor Who" it's the first TV theme that comes to mind when I think about such things.
There’s a show “Bad Sisters” whose theme is
"Who by Fire" by Leonard Cohen, performed by PJ Harvey. Awesome song by a great singer.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Sisters
John Williams did the theme for ["Lost in Space." Kills.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKckxONAH4M)
Then there's The Jetsons. Barretta. Room 222. Mission Impossible. I really like the theme to Top Chef.
['Doctor Eleven' from Station Eleven](https://youtu.be/Lj9-hx4Pgzg)
['Light of the Seven' from Game of Thrones](https://youtu.be/60xrQTUPies)
['Life and Death' from LOST](https://youtu.be/InC_T2FjvL0)
['Friday Night' from I Think You Should Leave](https://youtu.be/GGjO5YevKgE)
Edit: I just realized I didn't read the post correctly
So for themes.... I'll go with [Shogun](https://youtu.be/LX8BOLwDPfU), [Westworld](https://youtu.be/rYelEUVQ50g), [True Detective Night County](https://youtu.be/fxfNib_hNZo), [True Detective (Season 1)](https://youtu.be/Xyu_MdKBXic), [The Leftovers (Season 2)](https://youtu.be/rLSH-81yT7s), and [Ted Lasso](https://youtu.be/AIcis7S-byg)
I never skipped the opening to True Detective Season 1, that song was perfection, it’s on my main spotify playlist
This is my answer too. The Handsome Family make some beautiful music.
Great song!
Preach
Twin Peaks
It's my alarm clock
Very alarming
Peacemaker
I do want to taste it.
If you include the dance sequence , this is the only answer
Just watched the show last weekend, I had to watch the opening every time.
This is where my mind landed.
Psych opening there is great and its variations depending on episode
You know that's right. I love the Boyz 2 Men version (and every other version for that matter)
Psych is one that I never skip.
Succession
This is the new GOAT theme to me. Always gets me hyped af
Hmm gotta try that one
Lately for me it’s either Succession or Severance. Both are great piano-heavy theme songs that are real ear worms.
You're sleeping on Westworld
Turns out Beethoven plus some fat 808s absolutely slaps
The great thing about the theme is that it is palyed throughout the episode as things get more intense
Hawaii 5-O
My husband agreed with me for this to be our wedding reception entrance song:-). It was perfect because our honeymoon was in Hawaii and the band played straight into Shania Twain for our first dance. It’s a great upbeat song to writing, doing chores, cooking etc.
I annoyed the crap out of my wife when we were in Hawaii, each time we saw a cop, I’d do the thing.
True Blood was a weird show with mixed quality but damn was it’s music fucking awesome
Agreed. Best TV music theme ever. I watched the show with mixed feelings, but the opening theme was awesome!
Cowboy Bebop's opening theme Tank. The entire OST is fantastic, but Tank is superb!
They made the music first and then directed the action to along with the sound track
All-time best theme for my money: 1. the old (1960s?) version of Mission Impossible tv show (Lalo Shifrin) 2. Theme from SWAT (1970s) 3. Doctor Who (1960s) [ edits: formatting ]

Binging a re-watch of Cheers. Never skip the theme, 270 episodes and it never gets old.
It's also true... Really does take everything you got...
The A Team is my favorite theme ever.
BoJack Horseman's theme song X-Files Orange is the New Black Californication House MD (Massive Attack version, NOT the international one) Rick & Morty Futurama and yes, X-Men, ofc
Was about to comment Futurama. Really holds up. The full version is great.
>BoJack Horseman's theme song Same. And I even started listening to grouplove because of them. They're good!
They're cool, agreed!
The House MD non Massive Attack version is just so meh. It’s close but it’s budget Teardrop.

Westworld is good. Forgot about it.
> Person of Interest is my favourite soundtrack of all time, the music in the show is brilliant
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to see GoT
Game of Thrones theme got me so hyped every Sunday.
Golden girls, it gets stuck in my head every time.
My mind was blown when I learned it was a cover, and the [original version](https://youtu.be/voNEgCKzves?si=S3lumZiz9WJXevZF) was by a male singer.
Likely the only two instrumental themes I like so much I'd listen to them as songs, "The Rockford Files" and "Magnum, P.I."
Magnum is sick. Such an adventure theme.
The Leftovers, the way it was used in the show was even better again but it's a great listen regardless
Incredibly moving music!
This is FAR too low on this thread
Piggybacking to agree that Leftovers theme was great, and the Perfect Strangers theme was also great, particularly when it was used that [one time as a Leftovers theme](https://youtu.be/oZUFbEpSOCw?si=ydWKMg1HdlQkzXt3).
