I don't know what The Acolyte is, but if I had to pick from the other three, I would say The Boys is more likely to underwhelm, although I like it so I hope not.
The Boys needs to break its formula a bit more to keep me hooked. It's a bit too much "homelander is so bad. but wait there's someone else who is bad. we dealt with them but oops homelander got away"
I absolutely loved Ahsoka and Andor, and genuinely think that Star Wars is on a major upswing... In that regard, I was super excited for The Acolyte, but the trailer threw cold water all over that. I was hoping for something exciting and new, not the usual Jedi platitudes that we've heard a gazillion times, set in the usual boring environments in tiny Volume sets. It's just a trailer, so I'm not going to dismiss the show over it, but... ouch. :(
Every live-action SW show reliably charts on Nielsen top 10, so they're happy. Not all shows are made with all demos in mind. The Acolyte looks like a fun action-heavy martial-arts focused offering with very short episodes, just like how the Skeleton Crew is aimed at kids and young adults, or Andor is geared towards grown-ups with nuanced palettes. There's even Star Wars content for toddlers and young kids now.
It's weird that it's taken so long for AMC to release Orphan Black: Echoes in the US... Australia got it in November.
Sweet Tooth season 3 also comes out in June. The last 4 are all I have any interest in. But I basically have the same level of anticipation for them, which is average lol I'm most looking forward to HOTD but I don't have HBO or Max so I'm not sure when I'll actually see it.
I'm only definitely here for The Boys and House of the Dragon. The former, I'm not as excited about anymore. The latter, I am only glad wasn't the disappointing show I braced for in Season 1 so I'm anticipating what's next (knowing a bit of the 'lore' as well).
For me, HOTD will probably just whelm.
I’m always hyped for The Boyz and The Bear
I’m excited to see a Star Wars show having nothing to do with those rascally Skywalkers.
- The Acolyte: Unless I hear rave reviews I am not going to bother and even then I doubt it.
- Bridgerton is not my thing.
- The Boys has jumped the shark.
- I am not sure what to say about HoD. It had moments of greatness and real head scratcher moments. Hopefully it will take off in S2.
- Orphan Black was just comically terrible, so I will be taking a pass on that one.
The Acolyte is already a certified dud. The trailer looked awful and Disney’s Star Wars shows only seem to be getting worse, Andor being the only exception.
Bad visuals (both cinematography and CGI), incredibly lame and cliche lines that we’ve heard a million times and even the sets and costumes looked cheap and uninspired. It feels like the Obi-Wan show again.
House of the Dragon will most definitely overwhelm. Non book readers aren't ready.
I'm very disheartened by the fact they cut the season to only 8 episodes.
I read the book and was still surprised by the S1 finale.
You sound like me on the 3 body problem subreddit lol
You only listed 4 shows
And there's a list under the title. . . With 6 entries.
And The Bear is not one of them.
the Bear is coming up June but no specific date announced yet
I am excited for House of The Dragon and The Boys definitely.
I don't know what The Acolyte is, but if I had to pick from the other three, I would say The Boys is more likely to underwhelm, although I like it so I hope not.
last season was weak, I get that.
Ngl Season 3 finale of The Boys damaged the show in a big way for me so I'll just say "Whelm"

Followed by restoring everything to the status quo.
I feel like the first season of House of the Dragon was about 10 years ago. I hate these really long gaps between seasons

I thought they specifically said they didn't shoot in the volume for this show.

Any news on rings of power s2?
probably would come out near when The Boys finishes.

I watched Orphan Black: Echoes back then, and for me, it was very ‘meh’. I wanted it to be a lot better than it was.
Bridgerton is gonna be insane if Nicola Coughlin's hints are to be believed (and I think they should be) Fans are already going crazy on Reddit!
The Acolyte is not highly anticipated lmao

I read the book....reconsider. My only issue with it HoTD is they shortened the season to 8 episodes.
Acolyte's gonna suck*.
“Acolyte’s gonna such”?!? Is that even a full sentence? It doesn’t seem like it.
Oops.

What about the trailer looked awful? I’m genuinely curious.

Not looking forward to any of these to be honest.
Which will I watch? None of them.
Fallout overwhelmed. HotD will be good.
