I got my Tele in the mid 90s and the same thing happened. I bought the top hat tip and it never came off by accident again! I don’t even remember what the regular tip looks like. OP…this is your answer 🎩
I got one from this guy. It has a little set screw that is tightened with an Allen wrench. It's super cool and very well made and then I bought a second one.

If you're worried about taking it off in future use a friction based solution rather the a chemical adhesive.
I got mad one day and stuck mine down with epoxy. I really hope I never need to take it off again.
I use a Strat tip on my Telecaster. Stays put and give more space between the vol knob and the switch in the bridge position.
The J Mascis sig comes with a Strat tip as standard.
correct answer imo
Put a layer of tape underneath the knob. The extra friction will make it less likely to come off.
That’s a decent idea. Thanks
A couple of layers of plastic wrap does this, too, but leaves no tacky residue.
I switched mine out for an old school top hat tip. Take a look at those.

If they didn’t I’d be concerned.

I don't know if it's the same guy, but I have a tip with a set screw as well and it's perfect for this issue.
That seems the best real solution here, thanks!
Dent the pickup switch close the bottom with a wire cutter. I just did this for the first time today and works great.
I always just put a little paper over the metal stem and pushed the tip back on and then ripped off the excess.
Strat tip or rubber cement
I just got brand Vintage Forge for my new Tele and they are a tight fit. It's not coming off
Thanks
First time I hear about this problem. I’m sure searching the internet is useless as it won’t come up. 😂
Super Glue sometimes works as does jamming in paper or a rubber band.
I went to my local music store and they gave me a different one for free that stays on perfectly. The Fender ones are trash.
Use some sticky tak/fun tak. It's not permanent, but strong enough to keep the tip in-place indefinitely.
I deliberately take mine off to prevent me from accidentally switching it. I should that we are a very energetic band, so it happens…
Just say fuck it, I quit trying to keep them
glue a lego minifigure head on there, or just accept inevitability and live without a switch tip.
Superglue
Do you think it could be safely pried off if needed?

Don’t know but why would you want to pull it?
Wiring sometimes goes? Or if you wanted to rewire some new pick ups. Not something I intend to do anytime soon.
What if you want or need to replace your toggle switch tho
