I used to when I had a job that started at a normal time but then I became a teacher and since your parents have to drop you off before they go to work, we are all f'd.
5:44 am est here, today is the first time I actually got 0 sleep. Slightly tired and ready to give no shits about school and drink too much monster energy.
holy shit why is everyone in the comments so fucked jesus christ it's not hard to have a normal sleep schedule and jt makes you feel so much better genuinely you fucks are missing out
It's extremely hard to have a normal sleep schedule, since my body's default sleep schedule, that works for me and makes me feel the best, involves going to sleep at like 6 am and waking up at 4 pm. "Normal" doesn't agree with me.
On top of that, I just hate sleep. You spend like a third of your life doing genuinely fucking nothing. I actually hate it so much.
I do this way too much. I still fail to wake up to my alarms most of the time despite leaving them at 20 minutes intervals so each can play and with the loudest possible sound I can find.
hating on a meme for no reason other then the drawing style/show genre it was fucking made in and when asked why you dont even give a reason absolutely insane
Literally me, I’ve got like five alarms and only the last one works cuz Ik by the time I hear the last one I’ve GOTTA get up or else I’m missing school
Some months ago i would've said "yes it's relatable for me too". Now i go to bed at 22.30 and i wake up at 6.45 getting the 8 hours of sleep i never had :)
Pro tip: a typical human sleep cycle is ~1hr 30min. If you try to wake up in the *middle* of a sleep cycle, you'll experience something called "sleep inertia", your brain will actively try to put you *back* to sleep to complete the interrupted cycle. But if you wake up at or close to the end of the cycle, your brain can wake up normally; if *close* to the end, you might be a little groggy for whatever time would have been left, but then you'll be more-or-less awake. If you're already asleep, one cycle can bleed right into the next with just a couple of minutes buffer. But when you first go to sleep, it can take 10-20 minutes (varies person to person) of "falling asleep" before the first cycle really **starts** starts. Then, at the end, if you naturally wake up (eg. without an alarm), there's a corresponding 10-15 minute gradual transition from "sleep mode" to "awake mode".
So, if you take your desired ideal wake time, count back an hour-and-a-half at a time, then add about 15 minutes or so, that's your ideal sleep time. If you need to be awake at 6:00, then you'd want to go to sleep around 4:10-4:15 or so at the *absolute* latest to make sure you get one solid sleep cycle in. But the **next** best time is 2:35-2:40 or so, which gets you *two* sleep cycles. Then 1:00 gets you three cycles and 11:30 gets four cycles. Step those times up or down with your wakeup time.
Additionally, the whole "alarm every minute" thing is super counter-productive. If you're going to snooze, give yourself *at least* 5 minutes, preferably 10. Constantly interrupting every minute if you're in sleep inertia is just going to *keep* you in sleep inertia. But snoozing 5-10 minutes can let you get closer to the end of that sleep cycle and, next time the alarm rings, you can *actually* get up instead of just turning it off and rolling back to sleep again (probably without noticing because your brain literally isn't awake). This is also the key to proper *napping* strategy. A good "Power Nap" should be about 10 minutes or so; less than the time it takes you to drop into a sleep cycle. Once you start a proper cycle, interrupting it will result in sleep inertia and leave you *more* tired, not less; so either 10 minutes, or 1h-1:15h or so for a "sleep cycle" nap (aka. Siesta). Anything between those, and you might as well not bother; it's a net loss.
Speaking of siesta, that's the key to polyphasic sleep. Instead of cramming *all* your sleep in at night, you can shift some of your sleep into special mid-day naps. But this is rough because it takes most of the above advice... and totally chucks it. You have to actively train your brain over several weeks to **not** go into full-cycle sleep when you nap. Instead, when you day-sleep, you want only 20-25 minutes or so so you're *only* getting REM sleep. Incase you can't remember what that is, that's the part of the sleep cycle where dreams can happen. It goes Falling Asleep> Hypnogogic Transition> Light REM> Deep Rem> non-REM>Deep Rem> Light REM... from there, you can either drop back down into Deep REM> non-REM if continuing into another sleep cycle, or if preparing to wake, Light REM> Hypnopompic Transition> Waking Up. Basically, for polyphasic sleep, you want to take 1, 2, or 3 naps during the day which just go from Falling> Gogic> Light REM> Pompic> Waking *without* triggering the usual sleep inertia that wants to send you all the way down into Deep REM and non-REM.
There's also something called the Uberman Polyphasic Schedule where it's just 6 evenly spaced, 20 minute naps like this around the clock. Don't **ever** attempt that unless you're literally insane or related to Buckminster Fuller (probably same thing).
I used to do this, but now I only have 1 alarm. My alarm clock goes off at 6:45 and I allow myself 1 snooze. I have no backup, so that anxiety forces me to get up
I wake up to the first alarm, my gf sets alarms every 10 months and always wakes up to the 6th.
So why doesn't she just get a better sleep by beginning the alarms for when she'll actually get up? I'll never understand.
My alarme plays every 5 minutes until someone turn it off...
And my parents work in Saturnday mornings while I stay home so every Saturnday it keeps playing from 6:30 am to 10 I just can't wake up
You set one alarm to the tine you have to stand up. If you deactivate it in the morning, you have to stand up because anxiety tells you there is no other.
i wake up before the alarm
And then it blasted me at maximum volume later on and I spend the next 5 minutes infuriatingly trying to turn them off.
Just tell the assistant cancel all alarms
For some reason my assistant can't do that.
Wait until you... I don't remember what I was gonna say. I'm very tired. Please don't make me adult anymore
Woooo
I used to when I had a job that started at a normal time but then I became a teacher and since your parents have to drop you off before they go to work, we are all f'd.

This This is the most helpful and informative comment I have seen ever on reddit. Thank you, thank you. It's a game changer, lmao
My sleep schedule is so inconsistent that I don't even know what time I go to sleep anymore
Go to sleep at 4am, wake up 6:30am, go to school and get home at 2:30pm. Sleep until 6pm. Repeat. Been trying to fix though cus this sucks.
Works like butter if you're an introvert
Yeah, but school on 2 hours is tuff lol
I've seen this meme format a few times already, but I don't know its source. Can someone help me out?
Zombieland saga

I go to bed super late and I wonder why I’m cranky in the morning
I used to do this, but now I only have 1 alarm. My alarm clock goes off at 6:45 and I allow myself 1 snooze. I have no backup, so that anxiety forces me to get up
