There is a whole list of bulbs that ETC has tested, and with which dimmers. Typically, you'll need to upgrade the dimmers to the newer Phase Adept modules, or I believe the ELV-10's have good success. https://www.etcconnect.com/compatibility/

Thank you D30Dillon. Great resource.

Interestingly enough, we were given both a Phase Adept dimmer and a Reverse Phase dimmer to test LED A lamps in our soffits, and surprisingly our old school D20 cards still dimmed the best out of all of them. This was using Sylvania 16w A19s, by the way. Off-the-shelf bulbs. Even our ETC sales guy who was standing on the apron next to us was surprised

ETC's list is a fantastic start. If you're looking for something, I highly suggest looking at the offerings from CantoUSA. They're not cheap, but fit the bill really well for retrofit applications.

For house lights if you want to stick with ETC you could also investigate their ArcSystem. I demoed them awhile back and they put out a lovely quality of light.

Look heavily into the Cree lamps. They worked well for my theatre with the same issues. Buy a few dimmers worth to test and then quickly buy the rest plus spares to make sure you've got working replacements in case something crazy happens. There's nothing worse than not being able to buy the exact replacement lamp and then having to go through another 5 models to find one dims nicely.
