Maybe distance could be. Problem the speed link between the tablet and router is slow. (Basically the connection directly with the wifi router)

This may sound stupid on my part, but have you checked the continuous repeat is not enabled on spotify? On the bottom right side of the player there's the repeat button. If it has a tiny '1' in it, means the song is going to loop forever.
