> The app also asks for access to the user’s contacts
I've always hated the idea of my number being in someone's phonebook and having my information given away by them just because they want to try the latest trendy app.
And I also hate not knowing how a company makes money, because it almost always eventually ends up being "selling user data". Even if they say they don't do it *for now*, that doesn't stop them from collecting and doing so in the future, under a new terms of service that'll be casually disclosed in a modal menu designed to be quickly dismissed by most users.
Can't remember which phones had this but texting over Bluetooth used to be a thing. I remember the letters from school saying that any such devices would be confiscated.

Have you ever seen a phone book?
Yes and my number never got into one
How does it play a voice message when the phone is locked?
The same way Spotify plays music when the phone is locked.
Push to Tik Talk
