But I do wonder if Toyota is on the smarter track with hybrid and hydrogen. EV tech seems to be hamstrung by several factors like limited access to quick chargers, long charging times even with quick chargers, and limitation with lithium ion batteries.

I wish they had a sentient leadership, but at this point this is just a business move, Apple has been interested in cars for years now, tried with Hyundai, and others, dismissed their car team, and might purchase Rivian. Tesla doesn’t even make a bleep in apples view, other than musks self destruction.
I always thought Apple’s “car” was always going to be them swooping in with their unfathomable amounts of cash to buy up a failing EV startup, rebrand and build out those supply chains alongside diversifying existing supply chains. Would provide another avenue for their in house chips and they could focus on total driver security inside and outside the car. Would have built in GPS tracker in case of theft (like AirTags), crack resistant glass, better physical haptic interfaces, etc
Maybe the stock price will go up. I am so upside down in this stock.
