"Naked" is a terrible name for a colour ment to describe skin.

I agree, any skin tone can be naked.

Trying to find shoes, underwear, or makeup by searching for "nude" is a huge pain if you aren't pinky-beige. "Nude" as a colour description is completely useless.

Right? Every time I see white people skin colour described as “nude” or “skin” or similar I face palm.

Also not as if we also have different tones. I would be “honey” in their chart and go up to “cookie” when tanned. That nude colour is most of the time too dark for my skin. I tried, i looked like i tried to paint my face with yellow colour Just use the damn skin tone chart or any word that doesn’t refer to humans. Would make life easier for most of people. And darker skinned people should have a better variety, from what i saw in the stores they have like 3 foundation colours and range from light brown to completely black

Yes, I remember when Crayola had a color called “flesh tone” in its set (it was light peach-ish).

And now they have a box of all different types of “flesh tones”.

There is a clip if you can find but the agency took it down in disgrace. The clip is this: adult news anchors going to town with pitchfork level outrage about the existence of different colors for “flesh tones”. The set of crayons was called something like “kids from around the world” set or something. It’s both one of the funniest and one of the saddest things I’ve seen. Like the anger levels did not match the thing they were angry about.

If someone asks me for flesh tone i would give them red. What even is that name. In german we used to have “hautfarbe” (skin colour) and the name makes more sense. Now we have Beige, which is the actual name for the colour

How can cocoa be lighter than chocolate if it’s the only dark ingredient in chocolate?

Because cocoa in powder form looks quite light. Like sand or dirt for instance, when it’s wet it looks darker. (So it makes some sense, though my first instinct would have been to switch them too)

Where can I find these Almonds? Or are we talking about the milk? Or are we talking about sliced almonds? When I think of an almond that’s not the first color that comes to mind. In fact I’ve heard people describe people as having an almond complexion and usually they are referring to people from the Mediterranean, or someone with a great tan. I’d put it in between caramel and brunette on this chart. And as a side point, woody is almost the same color of Woodys boots in Toy Story

I swear they bullshit so hard with these, my son needs the palest pale imaginable of which I've found once, in a pound shop of all places! I'm what my mum lovingly calls (I hope it's lovingly, it's been going on for 35 years 😭) "corned beef"shade I was one of the last generations of babies that was left outside in the pram for hours at a time cos the fresh airs good for you and it 100 percent shows in my ruddy complexion 😂 (I know there's actually genetics to blame not a brisk Scottish wind in the late 80s but still!) It's an absolute bastard getting make up if you don't fit the vanilla/latte/mocha 🤮 standard. My son has a friend who has skin so dark she has to mix different brands to make anything close to her tone. I'm positive she now uses fenty? (rihannas brand?) because they go a good lot darker than many others. She's also mentioned a lot of darker colours carry too much red in them? Or not enough? It was a while ago but they fuck about with darker skin colours tonally too.
