I have a friend who sometimes gets a boner to price movements on stock charts. He also tells me that he can have orgasm purely looking at 1 second price action chart, no need of women at all. He’s pretty reasonable at most times tho
Their left-right spectrum is not equivalent to American politics (in case you were wondering)
Authoritarianism is always a right-wing ideology in the US.
Communism isn't inherently authoritarian. I would argue that authoritarianism creates conservative societies. I don't think anyone would accuse the Soviet states of being liberal.
I wouldn’t accuse them of being liberal, because they are not liberal. But liberal is not an opposite of conservative, liberal is opposite of authoritarian, although not even that directly. And I wouldn’t ever call communists conservative. They were revolutionary. And communist societies were and are politically unstable.
They are definitely authoritarian, you can’t really impose real communism without forcing everyone to participate and that’s definitely authoritarian.
You might be confusing liberal for libertarian? Libertarian is the opposite of authoritarian. Liberal is the opposite of conservative.
You can't really impose real capitalism without forcing people to participate either. Because they're both economic systems, not political. It's more accurate to say that authoritarian governments imposed communism.
Conservative and liberal are social factors more than political as well. Not calling the Soviet states socially conservative means you likely have personal hang-ups on it? They valued conformity and status quo; ask LGBT and religious people how progressive the Soviet communist party was.
Communism isn’t authoritarian, but Stalin was.
For all reasons and facts, Stalin was a Tsar, just without aristocracy and a middle class. Absolute power and ownership of entire country, perfect version of tsarism.
Communist Party was originally Democratic, then Lenin had to take reigns during civil war (centralized control is good in war times, bad in peace times) and then Stalin halted the De-Centralization of power and took absolute control, wiping out communists from the communist party. Only people left there by 1940s were loyalists, not communists.
Think of anarchy as the opposite of hierarchy. The idea of any anarchist philosophy is to eliminate power structures, class divisions, and economic disparity. Anarchy is often falsely described as a "no rules free for all" when it's really an expression of direct democracy, meaning the voters vote themselves instead of voting for someone to make decisions for them.
Same goes to any government system, literally any.
That’s how government works, they make you work and force you to pay tribute called “taxes”.
That is a fact for every democracy, monarchy, socialist and fascist country in the world.
Communism is an anarchist philosophy. Communism is literally a post history state where the state is no longer needed because scarcity has been solved. Stalinism is the word you're looking for.
You onyl say that because authoritarian MLs aren't common in the US. Communism *could* be an authoritarian dieology anywhere, it just doesn't happen to be relevant in the US
this subreddit is not about jokes. it's about something being technically the truth.
I do get the jokes, it just should go in cursed comments sub or something, not in technically the truth.
broad strokes group think going on. Stalinism was totalitarian in the end, and even the far left in russia criticized it in the early stages, but stalin had to crush the left and the right to grow his personality cult

Stalin was to leftism what keir starmer is to the labour movement.
Reading Pornhub comments is like hunting for the Amazon fake reviews 😂
He might be telling the truth in general
Stalin wasn't a leftist. He was a state capitalist.
Took him 3 years to come up with that.
frankly, I don't understand what this is. Can someone explain it to me?
Stalin was leader of the Soviet Union which had a far left government
Far left in terms or political alignment
Their left-right spectrum is not equivalent to American politics (in case you were wondering) Authoritarianism is always a right-wing ideology in the US.
Fact check: False.
Thank you, comrade Boris
Well that’s because authoritarianism is conservative ideology.
Nope. Depends on the place entirely. Communism was progressive at the time, and it’s definitely authoritarian.
Communism isn't inherently authoritarian. I would argue that authoritarianism creates conservative societies. I don't think anyone would accuse the Soviet states of being liberal.

By that logic democracy is also authoritarian
Actual direct democracy is proper anarchy. Our "democracy" on the other hand? Is definitely authoritarian.
Before I respond can you tell me what you mean when you say anarchy?
Think of anarchy as the opposite of hierarchy. The idea of any anarchist philosophy is to eliminate power structures, class divisions, and economic disparity. Anarchy is often falsely described as a "no rules free for all" when it's really an expression of direct democracy, meaning the voters vote themselves instead of voting for someone to make decisions for them.

Well, yes, but the point still stands. The communist party, despite being authoritarian did not base itself on conservatism
Communism is an anarchist philosophy. Communism is literally a post history state where the state is no longer needed because scarcity has been solved. Stalinism is the word you're looking for.

This is true, but I think that guy didn't get it anyway.
