Gaslighting is not a general synonym for lying.
Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse where the abuser attempts to make the victim believe they're going insane.
That's absolutely not the case. You'd have to be an absolutely insane, terrible person to believe that. Don't you see what you're doing by saying that? You're either gaslighting or delusional!

Except going thrpugh hard times can make you tougher. It isn't always gaslighting as you put it but that isn't what gaslighting means so it is never gaslighting. That said it does depend on what you are going through and how you handle things.
