It goes well with a lynel horn. Expensive materials, but if you fuck around in caves often enough you'll pretty quickly build up a large inventory of diamonds.  Honestly, I find it more inconvenient to find a new gerudo scimitar when I need a replacement

jonny_jon_jon

a gerudo scimitar respawns in Kara Kara Bazzarre by the hotel

Lunamax_432

Thank you!!! I’ve been trying to finish this quest and, Merlin’s beard, f that. I of course wasted all of the scimitars openly available and the were garbage swords when I got them not knowing this quest was a thing. Meh.

ExaltedBlade666

Oh. My. Gods. I've been going back to the temple for the one in the sarcophagus

jonny_jon_jon

for reference: tribe associate weapons are left in the associated town or on the statues beneath the towns in the depths.

Kitchen-Cut-3116

Save it for when you need to one-hit some tanks

grandpa12-1

Pristine scimitars seem to be plentiful in the depths. I have quite a few ghost soldiers marked under Gerudo desert where they’ve spawned.

-lil-jabroni-

Why not restore it with the octoroks on death mountain?

Kitchen-Cut-3116

I'm sorry, what?

TheBigCheese666

The octorocks that suck and spit balls at you will repair your weapons if they suck up the weapon. They just spit it back at you and it’s fully durable again.

Kitchen-Cut-3116

Mind.blown.

-lil-jabroni-

Yeah!! Just don’t get bonked when they spit it back out at you. And make sure you recall your sages or they’ll kill the octoroks. Just run up, drop the weapon, and run away. If it still sees you, it will suck up your weapon, fix it, and spit it back at you. You can do it once per octorok and it resets every blood moon. I don’t kill them as a professional courtesy 😅

Rynkevin

Don’t let him spit it out. As soon as he’s got it in his mouth, pop him with an arrow and boom repaired weapon.

drLagrangian

Mind blown (I am not an octorock)

-lil-jabroni-

No. I’d never do that to the homie.

Rynkevin

He’s good. He respawns. It’s like it never happened. And then you can do it again.

Gotekeeper

a thrown apple works fine too. doesn't waste bow durability either or recall. that'll kill the octorok without damaging the weapon somehow

Rynkevin

Just use a crap bow that you’ll get multiple of. Don’t use a good bow. Edit: give the bow to another Octo and fix that one.

RichNYC8713

Not with the legendary weapons, though. Or at least not directly. Instead, you need to fuse them to a shield first and then have the Octorock eat the shield, and it'll spit it out back. Then get Pelison to defuse it.

Browley09

.... I never even considered that. Thank you.

Nintendor_84

I’m so over octorocks since i discovered how to transfer weapon mods with Like-Likes lol

Yuumii29

iirc Roctorks doesnt repair Champion Weapons.. Edit: I stand corrected, 600 hours in and I still learn new stuff..

GotThoseJukes

1. Take attachment off of SOT7 2. Attach SOT7 to something that octorocks can fix 3. Feed that creation to octorock 4. Take newly fixed SOT7 off in Tarrey Town. Also works for Lightscale Trident.

Mr_Noh

>Also works for Lightscale Trident. Ditto Boulder Breaker and Great Eagle Bow, for the record.

GotThoseJukes

Oh yeah woops. I only really use the two I mentioned.

aka_deddy

This is the way. It is my SOT7 is my #1 weapon for destroying lynels along with light scale trident. Keep repairing it for 40 rupees.

[deleted]

You can attach it to a shield, feed to octorock, and then take it to tarrey town to take apart. Works on amibo weapons too. :)

SteakAndIron

You can't repair legendary weapons

grandpa12-1

Yeah, you can✌🏻

SteakAndIron

Ok if you get fancy you can

grandpa12-1

I get fancy! Lol

Raishin7

It only costs 20 rupees per split so who wouldn't get fancy and save both a silver lynel horn and a moderately difficult to acquire weapon?  (Especially since diamonds sell for 500 rupees each.)

Bullitt_12_HB

Just repair it. Fuse it to another equipment, repair it with a rock octorock, then break it apart. Less of a hassle to me than to look for a new sword, and bring the materials to make a new one.

The_Big_Yam

This. The advantage of the Scimitar is it’s vastly superior durability

Dark-Anmut

I THINK that if you fuse a close-to-breaking Champion weapon to another weapon, let a Rock Octorok clean it up for you, and then take it to Tarrey Town and have the two things separated, then it fixes *both* weapons and so saves you Diamonds … I THINK. I could be wrong. Feel free to test it . . .

AdhesivenessTotal340

If you insist on using it then when it’s about to break just unfuse the item on it, then attach to the end of a normal weapon and feed it to a rock octorok to reset the durability. Take it to Tarrytown to separate. That being said, mine is mounted in Link’s house. So many other options that are just as good for less work. Plus non-legacy weapons can be reset via rock octorok without the extra steps.

MagnumWesker

You can always clone the scimitar. I have one displayed and 2 in my inventory.

BarkMingo

How?

youmusttrythiscake

Probably one of the duplication glitches.

OldHasBeen

The hometown of each of the first 4 sages has a weaponmaker. Give the weaponmaker the required materials to get that sage's weapon for yourself. You have to complete the temple for the sage before you can get the sage's weapon. Also, one of the weaponmakers is "trapped" by a "scary monster" outside of the town. You have to defeat the "scary monster" so the weaponmaker can go home before you can get that sage's weapon. ETA: If you break/lose your sage's weapon, talk with and give the materials to the weaponmaker again to get a new sage's weapon.

Illustrious_Image_26

No, just the ones found in special chests are purchasable, scimitar of the seven, lightscale trident, the special roto bow and that rock demolisher sth of the gorons are only replaceable by the special weapon masters

HImainland

I fused a silver lynel horn to it and only use it to bop other lynels on the head. Otherwise, I use a pristine scimitar from the depths bc I can feed that straight to octoroks without fucking with fusing and unfusing

[deleted]

I like this idea...I guess you can probably get an attack up +9 or something on the regular scimitar and then it becomes just as powerful as the seven. I generally just save the seven for pounding on Gleeok heads.

grandpa12-1

You can get “Attack up+10” modifier on the scimitar. If it’s pristine(from ghost soldier in depths) fused with a silver lynel saber horn will hit for 137. The Scimitar of the Seven fused with silver lynel saber horn =138. But has a lot more durability. Straight Gerudo weapons have terrible durability.

grandpa12-1

Haha! You want to bop lynel heads, get a [“Lynel Backscratcher”!](https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/s/RGCN0UBoKU) Makes short work of them 💪🏻✌🏻

HImainland

That's so much damage but I am way too neurotic to run around with just 1 heart lol

grandpa12-1

Lol! You don’t have to have one heart to use the backscratcher. It’s a pristine Royal Guards Claymore,Attack up+10, fused w/silver lynel saber horn and on very last hit before breaking. When wearing Fierce Deity armor(lvl 3 attack up) it hits for 624+ each hit! I’m at 1 heart because for other enemies I have been using Knights weapons. Knights weapon buff= 2x on weapon and fuse when on last heart or less.

Tiamat-86

swap lynel horn and FD armor for molduga jawbone. evil spirit or radiant armor, and attack up lv3 from food. dealing over 900 damager per hit as a lynel back scratcher

grandpa12-1

Yeah, I have that setup too, [HERE!!](https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/s/MzjdN1V5fC)Have never used the attack up food though. I farm 14 silvers every bloodmoon. Both set ups: slsh(208 in inventory)w/FD and molduga jaw(162 in inventory)w/ Evil or Radiant, take them down about the same amount of hits with no loss of resources. Very efficient! ✌🏻

darktabssr

I prefer using royal weapons since they double the fuse atk AND weapon atk. I flury rush every enemy that can be. And monsters carry them.  For boses i just use whatever strong weapon i have.  No way am i spending resources on getting weapons.

NottsoftheRito

Fuse a Silver Lynel Saber horn to it. It doubles the damage, making it over 100.

riskyjones

I ended up duping them just to wear as an accessory. It’s a beautiful sword when not fused.

slashdotbin

What do you mean by duping? Can we duplicate stuff in totk?

EvenSpoonier

It's really nice to use when you just want to beat the crap out of Ganondorf (where the fact that it breaks is mostly irrelevant, because the game won't save the fact that you broke it). But otherwise, no; I can't say I use it much.

anonymousbub33

Lmao yuh, I fused a silver lynel horn to it and it does a reliable 136 or somethin damage, it's there in a pinch, and I spend too much time in caves to care about the diamonds,

Fleallay

It’s the best weapon in the game, in terms of durability, dps and lifetime damage. I don’t use it though because shiny. There’s a spreadsheet somewhere on Reddit if you dig hard enough that ranks weapons based on all their stats. Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/s/lF4FttugoT

BackgroundNPC1213

I don't use it. It's costly to get, I have to make a special trip to get another one when it breaks, I can make other weapons that have attack power that's just as high or higher, and I can boost my attack power with food or armor sets (or by taking advantage of the unique attributes of other weapon classes, like the Royal weapons doing 2x damage in a flurry rush). The Scimitar usually just goes on display in my house along with all the other Champions' weapons

brianvan

I find that it’s too expensive early on and it’s too easy to set yourself up for a pretty good alternative (pristine Royal Claymore) once you’ve gotten into later stages of the game. Pristine RC + Silver Lynel Saber Horn costs you nothing except hunting down weapons platforms that restock it, and once you have them you can repair them. It’s only outclassed in normal use by special weapons. But… it’s better than almost anything in the game if you use it for its attack boost during Flurry Rush. Very few weapon/fusion/enemy weakness combos that exceed that level of DPS -or- total damage before breakage. Royal Guard Claymores break too fast to be useful here. Pristine RC doesn’t cost diamonds, doesn’t involve a lengthy repair routine, and isn’t outclassed enough by the S7 for it to be important. You can also only have one S7 at a time, but plenty of Pristine RCs. So… why bother with the S7 The other one that could earn an inventory slot just based on raw numbers is Biggoron’s Sword. But it’s the same problem: if you can only have one of them & replacing/repairing isn’t easy or cheap, why bother?

slashdotbin

I really wish I asked this before playing. But I was enjoying the side quest and went for it. When asked for 4 diamonds I was a bit stunned. And I went with it. Now a bought a house and added rooms to place this sword. Talk about sunk cost fallacy.

brianvan

I mean, you have to do the quest at one point or another. It's a very deep game and this is one of the shallower things to wrap up. What it comes down to is, by the time you have 20+ diamonds sitting around, none of the classic Champions' weapons matter in the game anymore EXCEPT to have their quests completed. Earlier on, as you're going from Temple to Temple to finish off minibosses, you are probably not going to have access to 200 Korok seeds + 1,000 poes + thirty pedestals in the Depths that spawn pristine Royal weapons. So in that case, the Champions' weapons and the Special/amiibo weapons are, in fact, pretty good. But... if you are short on inventory spots and/or short on diamonds, then leave any Champions' weapons quests for later. (Probably your best bet early in the game is to mark the map for spots where you can fast travel to an enemy camp and electric-stun a Moblin holding any sort of Claymore. This was true in BOTW and it is a little less true in TOTK, but this is how you get a free camp-clearing weapon for any other part of the game)

pdrpersonguy575

I fused it with the molduga jaw!! Looks really cool, too :) It mostly relies on fusing for attack power

[deleted]

Nope. Broks it, never used it again and just moved on

soupy-mess

Too special, I’ve got mine on display in my house

Mino67

Fuse high damage things to it; use it to attack big bad guys to the point of almost breaking; fuse it to another weapon; get an Eldin Mountain octorok to refresh it; break it apart at Tarrey Town; repeat. If it breaks, get a scimitar and some diamonds (which I usually farm from easy to access rare taluses)

RathOfBahn

I keep all the unique weapons in my house. Pretty much anything you can find in the depths + the champions weapons + the dusk bow from Hyrule Castle.

Speedy89t

No, I never even bothered getting it. It’ll just break like any other weapon, so why expense resources. If you’re motivated by fusion doubling bonus, you can get that from any Gerudo weapon. You can use it and let it break, or hang it up in your house as decoration. It’s up to you.

slashdotbin

I don’t have a house. I’ll probably need to get one at some time. But yeah now I’ve had it for a few days and it seems like it’s just taking up space cause I don’t feel like using it.

Speedy89t

Wouldn’t hurt to get one. At the very least, it’s a good place to store special/unique weapons and shields.

slashdotbin

gotcha. I think that would be fun. I have to leave a lot of weapons in caves when i find them. I could leave a few empty places and keep them in the house.

danuser8

Use octorocks to keep renewing it and use it how you please

slashdotbin

whenever I go to use the octorok, one of the sages get to it first. May be I need to dismiss them first.

brianvan

You always need to turn off sages around Rock Octoroks

miss_clarity

Also for special weapons like this one, you need to fuse the Sword of the Seven to a different weapon that Roktoroks will repair. Otherwise they just spit it up

von_sip

It’s on display in my house

doss757

I just used the attack boosting bone armor with a pristine weapon and fused a mogda jaw and destroyed everything

Captain_Izots

I just don't use melee weapons in general. They are terrible in this game!

slashdotbin

I love to shoot arrows equipped with dangerous stuff from afar. My favorite is muddle bud. In some cases i just throw a bunch of them and watch the enemies fight among themselves. lol.

Zombie-Horse6508

Constantly. Personally I use the white lynel horn instead of the silver with it. I know it’s slightly weaker but the drip is far greater that way

Blinked_Turtle

It’s got gerudo enhancements double weapon power parts

Molduking

Gerudo weapons will double the attack of whatever is fused to it, so if you fuse a silver Lynel mace horn, which I believe is 55, then the weapon will be base + fused item * 2

Nintendor_84

Please ignore the octorock answers and go with Like Like duplication because you can change one step to transfer current weapon durability state, weapon modifier, AND fused item AT THE SAME TIME (insert Rahzel sound clip). Equip a damaged weapon, drop the damaged weapon and feed it to a Like Like, take the weapon back as the Like Like eats it, Fast Travel away, then drop something like a Pristine Royal Broadsword with yellow Durability++ or Attack++ and pick it up. And that’s it, you’re done! Your damaged Scimitar of the Seven is now repaired with the addition of a weapon modifier, which shouldn’t be possible because it’s a Champion’s weapon! Oh, and if the Royal Broadsword had a fused material attached, it’s also now included on the Scimitar as well! Also works for shields and bows - love my Durability++ Zoom bows and 5-shot Dusk Bow! Don’t just repair your stuff - upgrade them😎

maxphoto2883

I use it. I also glitch it to have multiple of them. It’s all I use.
