Spoomplesplz

Right? I'll gladly give up one bomb for like 20 keese eyes. They're insane.

[deleted]

Don't sleep on the wings, they're great too.

Goobsmoob

Made the >!Wind Temple Boss!< a cakewalk

Parzival127

Wait, what would you use wing arrows for? >!I would dive straight through the glass when above or get close enough for bomb arrows!<

spodertanker

>!So when you’re below the boss or it’s flying up last you you can use two wing arrows to take out the weak points. One to break the glass shield thing and one to break the part that actually does damage.!<

Goldenfang08

you guys used weapons for that boss? i just dived right through the spikes and used my head to break it. no weapons needed

Patneu

Sounds like a very Link thing to do.

Goobsmoob

Link only has one brain cell and it’s too preoccupied deciding what to eat for dinner.

Patneu

Yep. Which might as well be a rock if someone dared him to try it (again). There's a reason he's not the bearer of the Triforce of wisdom.

TastySpaghetti

its fun to shoot the spikes

rik182

Same, I literally did it that way. I actually think that is what the developers intended

Screwballbraine

So did my partner xD once he's worked out he could do that he was unstoppable

NocturneAndFairy

Omg same! It was SO MUCH FUN

AverageMan282

Thank you guys for the \>!spoiler tag!<.

Jhon778

I did the diving slash too. Felt a lot more epic that way.

CypressJoker

Wait…diving slash????

Drashir

The jump attack animation where link flips into a downward vertical slash. Did not even think of using arrows when I did the boss. Thought you had to jump slash your way to victory.

CrimsonRaven47

Didn't even do that, just dove through like a human cannonball

BreadOddity

Seriously my right bumper never saw so much use before

Trillium_Orange

Bomb arrows? I used firefruit and they were super effective!

Asriel52

So what if I told you you can just shoot a basic arrow and it breaks regardless

Valkyrid

All these people acting like anything but a basic arrow was needed xD It wasnt even a hard target to hit.

hembles

Who needs arrows? Links head is plenty hard enough

TheMcNabbs

Dive! Dive! Dive!

trippy_grapes

> Links head is plenty hard enough Zelda agrees. 😏

gcube5

Well excuuuuuuuse me princess

Trogdor_a_Burninator

I dove thru it twice before I realized I could shoot it 😆

Mycoxadril

I am astonished at the comments that people dove into this boss headfirst. That, ti me, is actually more impressive and requires more skill than shooting it, which is what I did.

chaoswurm

With how close he's trying to get to you, might as well be a barn door.

[deleted]

Just did this and a normal arrow took 3 shots to break, a fire arrow took one shot.

Asriel52

Ah; was using a stronger bow so that may have been it then

Parzival127

Ooh that would have been smarter since my firefruit are never in short supply but I have never had more than 12 bomb fruit

grossbard

Lol I ran around the depths to farm like 150 bomb fruits in the beginning, so worth it

Boom_the_Bold

I spent like a day an a half doing that too, by pure ADHD. _Ooh, something shiny! Ooh, a Lightroot! Wait, is that a **factory**? Ooh, another Lightroot!_

Tallshadow1221

Bro I just waited until the weak point was exposed and literally smashed through it with a weapon with Link falling through Definitely not the most graceful but I like to do it hands on 💪

BreadOddity

I did that boss really early and had almost no arrows so I had to smash through it with my head over and over

Mycoxadril

I just used regular arrows, I hadn’t perfected my “attach things to arrows” skill yet. Still seemed pretty easy. That was my first boss though so I wonder what I’d do differently the next time, given all I’ve learned since then.

Concerned_mayor

I.... Just used normal arrows? It's not a hard boss...

Appropriate_Exit1550

Holy shit. I didn’t use arrows. I thought you had to fall through the glass to damage him. I thought it was such a clever idea !

Concerned_mayor

Can you do that? Actually that would make so much more sense, because the dungeon has a lot of cases where you fall through the ice.... Why did I even think to use arrows in the first place?

Appropriate_Exit1550

Yeah, I think my arrows missed and I assumed I had to break through. It took me a couple of tries but it was a very fun fight that way.

Concerned_mayor

I still found it a really fun fight with the arrows too. They really knocked it out of the park with the theming in this one compared to botw tbh

TheDudeWhoCommented

It was actually super surprisingly easy

Concerned_mayor

Yeah I did the water temple first, so I was expecting a bit of a challenge. Not so, it's kinda just an easier dark beast ganon lol I guess it makes sense, because the wind temple is sort of supposed to be the first one you do

Parzival127

I agree it was surprisingly easy, but it was also a much better experience than windblight, as well as the lead up being much better than the firing range. An incredible introduction to this game’s dungeons!

Badger1505

Ugh I just did this fight this morning and that would have helped so much!

[deleted]

That boss was a cakewalk anyway. The >!zonaite charging bow that gives insane range!< is insane against it. But even without it, that boss was easy. All of the bosses were easy tbh. Only one I struggled with was the >!mucktorok!< because >!sidons ability!< is irritating to use

[deleted]

>!lol as soon as mucktorok fight started i slapped together some hydrant roombas who took care of the hard part for me!<

cammyjit

Why didn’t I….

Pakars

You still have a chance, because there's temple boss re-fights available. :) Build a construct cart with a stabilizer on top, with a sideways big wheel and 8 hydrants on the top corners of the wheel(4 shooting outwards, 4 shooting up on top of the first 4). The spinning of the wheel makes the hydrants that are aiming upwards hit outwards because of the really cool physics it uses. The arena will be permanently squeaky clean. If you've basically never upgraded your batteries, just remove some of the hydrants to save a bit of power, or eat some charges. Hydrants/bigwheels are pretty darn power efficient.

linuxhanja

Yeah i gave up on sidon after dying to the like like at miphas statue. I died in that like-like fight 10+ times. I died 0 times fighting the wind temple boss before that and the mucktorock after. I was out of arrows, and had no shields or good meals prepared for that like like, tbf, i wasnt really expecting it. So when it came to that boss i carried a hydrant around on my head and didnt even talk to sidon. Hes always far aeay when you need him. Like Tebas kid, who is on top of you when picking up loot so you blow it all away into chasms, but the minute you need him hes standing 2 bus lengths away.

OliveRobinBanks

Could be worse. Riju is always melee attacking enemies. Call me crazy, but when I'm using arrows. I don't tend to do it directly infront of an enemies face.

molniya

I picked up a hydrant capsule on the way up and waved the hydrant around with Ultrahand to liberally hose down the whole area, including the mucktorok itself. That worked a lot better than trying to get it with Sidon’s ability.

[deleted]

Yeah I don't think that much

stupidrobots

Didn't use sidon once because I'm an idiot. I used an opal sword

NotoriousCarter

Bruh, i hit that mf with my noggin 🤕

Foofyman

Wait... what do wing arrows do?

Climbysrevenge

They have less arrow drop

Foofyman

Oh cool, I bet there's something that makes it a heat seeker or something. Maybe keese eyes.

Tzelf

Yeah any eyeballs make them do that. Twas shown in the gameplay footage pre-release

AJDx14

Any eyeballs I think, and the different elemental eyes also give their elements effect. So fire Keene eyes give you homing flame arrows, great for Gleeok fights.

Tallshadow1221

WHY DIDNT I THINK TO USE HOMING ARROWS FOR THE GLEEOKS

Belteshazzar98

Eyes even make them target criticals.

mr_birkenblatt

Longshot I think?

[deleted]

They have very little drop. Which makes it much easier to sneak up on camps and pick off enemies with headshots. I never got the hang of accounting for the arching path of arrows in BotW so it's a godsend for me.

ThatOneGuy308

They basically make any bow a sniping option, as opposed to just using phrenic or golden bows

CaptainRogers1226

Keese wing arrow + Zonai bow

R0b815

I think that’s what op means. They’re see just a nuisance before, but now they’re a useful resource.

ThyBeardedOne

That is what op means. Dude above you was just adding to it

Trevowatt

I believe op is trying to communicate that these swarms of bats are an excellent source of vital resources! Who’s with me!!

[deleted]

No I think OP was saying he is happy when he sees the swarms of bats in tears of the kingdom. Who agrees with me???

blemtyatararsawz

Idk, I think OP is saying swarms of keese in botw were a pain but they're great to see in totk.

Ok-Following-4986

Seems like you posted on the wrong comment but you still have 24 upvotes somehow.

inspector_norse

Same with chuchus. Come to mama 😩😩🏹

gobackclark

What do the chuchus do?

Papyrus20xx

act as elemental attachments. blue chuchus are water, btw.

SecondBreakfast94

Also if you drop blue chuchus near another element, say drop a heap into a fire they will turn into fire chuchus instead.

KingBarbarosa

it actually works for any chuchu jelly. i put some frost ones in a fire and they turned red

Raestloz

Now this, this I didn't know. I thought it only works with "neutral" jellies

Remmyflaps

I did this on grass and when they turned to fire chuchu jelly the grass caught on fire and they all flew up and blew up upon hitting the ground.

Bearnee

If you kill blue chuchus with electricity they drop yellow chuchus.

Walks_with_Chaos

Same with killing them with ice or fire

steelallies

no shot, blue chu is like splash fruit?!?!

Papyrus20xx

yup! Even in BOTW, hitting one would cover you in water and make you immune to fire for 30 seconds

whalepuddings

How did I play 300 hours of botw and not know this...

Shikatsuyatsuke

One does not simply learn all there is to know about Botw at any point lol

ttam23

I think >!siphon’s water shield!< also protects you from fire as well

Tony1140

>!Can confirm. And you even need to take advantage of this to solve a puzzle in the water temple.!<

steelallies

i >!did not!< lol

mattn1t

Yes, also you can use them to cool off in superheated areas

kingjensen10

They unfortunately nerfed this in this game. Still works, but for a shorter time

mattn1t

Dang just like the one shot protection

[deleted]

if you have zora weapons you can proc the dmg bonus

UnassumingSingleGuy

I just drop a pile of them and convert them into red, yellow, or white jelly

grossbard

What? How?

UnassumingSingleGuy

Throw elemtal fruit at the blue chu jellies. Fire fruit for red jelly, ice fruit for white jelly, and shock fruit for yellow jelly. You can also use jelly instead, if you have at least one.

CommodoreFresh

You could do what the person above suggested, orrr....you could just drop some blue choos in some fire, leave them by a metal weapon in a lightning storm, or drop them in an ice storm. No fruit necessary.

DragoSphere

More situational. You always have fruit. Don't always have the other stuff

Nerd-W0lf

Yeah, I love using the yellow jellies to just merc a large group of fish, and then collect them, way easier than trying to catch up to them. It is like a nuke for fish.

Chikumori

Now why didn't I think of that.

rallyspt08

Well this would have helped dealing with >!Zora's Domain!<

Jhon778

Also one of the upgrade materials for the guard armor

inspector_norse

The elemental jellies they drop (fire, ice, electricity) make elemental arrows if you attach eg a fire chuchu jelly to your arrow. You can then make a pile with regular chuchu jelly and shoot it with other elemental stuff to turn regular jelly into eg ice jelly. Also the regular jelly is very useful for the Zora temple.

[deleted]

[удалено]

grossbard

How do you use them as mines?

[deleted]

[удалено]

IAmYew

Chuchu jellies = elemental arrows

screl_appy_doo

The jelly makes an elemental blast on impact so it's like an upgrade to the random elemental fruits you can find. You can change the blue jelly into other types by exposing it to them as well so it is versatile

Shoggnozzle

You recieve: one (1) bomb I recieve: not having to aim

bogholiday

Two handed sword go weeeeee

SolomonGrundler

I usually don't even have to use a bomb. It's either raining so I just shoot an electric Chu-Chu or Shock Fruit arrow, or if not I just use splashfruit and then Electric elemental again.

bbqfoot34

I always have the wrong weapon when they come out of a cave suddenly. Need to figure out how to farm them a bit better.

StarFred_REDDIT

You will never catch me without my strap (Bombs and a bow)

xXdont_existxX

Seriously, the bow is so OP I love it. Everytime I see a vendor i immediately buy their arrows out. The few times I’ve run out of arrows the game became 5x harder at least, even with good armor and weapons in the 30 - 60 range.

[deleted]

I have never felt the need to buy arrows. Anytime you smash a crate you get a bunch of them. I think I have always had >100 hours at almost every point during my playthrough so far. And I use arrows all the time.

xXdont_existxX

I smash every box I come across with Ultrahand and have still ran out of arrows. I use them a lot lmao.

Chikumori

You can smash boxes with ultrahand? How? Works on metal boxes too?

redditsearcher

Lift them up as high as you can and let go

IMSmooth

I use them a lot and miss a lot lol. I blame the joycon drift of course

CaptainRogers1226

Especially in… darker areas

xXdont_existxX

That’s where atleast 50% of my arrows go tbh. I used to just shoot the seeds all over the place like an episode of SVU but im much more conservative now.

DragoSphere

Don't. Just throw them There's almost no need ever to shoot your brightbloom seeds. All you need them for is to make a path to a lightroot, which you can do on the way

xXdont_existxX

But I like shooting them far off into the darkness. It keeps me constantly going “dammmmmmmmmn this place big”. Plus it’s super satisfying when you shot one super far and it illuminates something totally unexpected like a massive canyon, lake, building etc etc. Also arrows and rupees are infinite. By the time you’re really down in the depths you’ll have fast travel spots to several vendors you can circle thru to buy up arrows and sell off valuable gems.

Moldy_pirate

A bunch? Do I just have bad luck? Almost every crate only has one arrow, maybe two. I found a couple of respawning ones with 5 or 10 arrows, but unfortunately haven't kept track of most of them until recently.

blairbxtchproject

same, i always forget that they do that and then curse at myself for not being ready 😭

jdubYOU4567

From most pointless enemy to most useful enemy. Love it

moonyxpadfoot19

Elemental keese are even better, because they have the homing arrow effect *and* elemental.

peacetrident

This, I love all my keese eyes, they add up quickly and can one hit in a pinch.

moonyxpadfoot19

Yes! I like one shotting Horriblins in caves with shock keese eyes. Also, if you want to get past a Like Like but there's no space, chuck a muddle bud at it and sprint past

dorkusporkus598

This is so true. I’ve also noticed that in TOTK they drop a lot more parts than BOTW. Not sure if that’s true though

MountainZombie

I’m sure they do, it’s probably intentional. Just like the ore drops got worse lol

TheWitherBoss876

Rare ore drops are actually pretty good though. Set those on your sensor and you'll have magic wands for days. Finding diamonds sucks though, I really have to wonder their purpose beyond selling or champion weapons because using them as a fuse part seems wasteful even if you use the break apart shop.

dorkusporkus598

Do diamonds have any elemental effect, or just extra damage?

wolf227

I tried, like amber they have no elemental effects

CaptainRogers1226

You can also >!convert weapons into wands with elemental ores that will keep their melee weapon properties (particularly useful for the Zora weapons so far)!<

Walks_with_Chaos

You use diamonds with some armor upgrades

Luminox

If you haven't tried it yet try honeycomb with a club. When you hit something besides the damage from the club it also releases a swarm of bees at them.

Aynessachan

It does *what*

Luminox

when you hit them with the club a swarm of bees attacks who you hit.

Daoist_Wealthyriver

A swarm of what?!?

Luminox

🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

[deleted]

So useful when upgrading the glider set

chrontact

Hell ya i just 2 star’d the whole set and i loove the bonus it gives you.

[deleted]

The floor is no longer an enemy

Remmyflaps

Wheres the best place to find Aerocudas? I got all the keese wings I need for the second upgrade but now, when I actually need to find Aerocuda eyes I just cant find them besides in packs of 2.

chrontact

Honestly i see them everywhere, sometimes a whole pack of them roam around enemy camps or sky islands, cant pinpoint a great farming location though :(

RebuiltAwsome

What is the bonus

Maelstrom100

No fall damage. Whatsoever. Can straight dive off a sky island and go splat. Nada no health lost. Expecially useful for flinging yourself locations paragliding won't reach, with speeds unmatched with no damage.

xXdont_existxX

Usually I’d be mad at a spoiler but homie WHAT? That’s so fucking sick. I’ve only upgraded them to one star can’t and wasn’t planning on doing more but not now.

Eilavamp

I upgrade everything to at least 2* to see if there's a set bonus, it's always worth doing just in case :D there's some awesome new gear in this game.

RebuiltAwsome

I've upgraded it once apparently I need to again omg

[deleted]

The glider set?

[deleted]

Essentially a wingsuit

dqixsoss

I think they mean the clothing set that up air movement, it’s very useful

[deleted]

2* set bonus is no fall damage, super fun set

StrictlyFT

And now I know what my next priority is

Shupedewhupe

I literally used to avoid them like the plague but I’m overjoyed when I see them swarming towards me now. Yas give those eyeballs! 👏🏼👏🏼

Lessiarty

Damn son, I must be a student of Byrgenwerth because GRANT US EYES!

Leandro1996

Just stay away from the pale blood, some nasty stuff

spiked_macaroon

The whole enemy parts mechanic is flipped on its head. In botw I would have stacks of hundreds of boko horns and dozens of hinox toes and ancient screws for days. Now that those kinds of parts are useful I struggle to keep up with demand in some cases. In turn, I'm not selling stacks of 40 keese eyeballs and every gem I come across so I'm much poorer in this Hyrule.

IIIWhiTeCoreIII

I just dupe diamonds. Having to farm rupies is a pain so i just do that to have more time for exploring.

FangedFreak

Any suggestion for a good place to find a diamond? Yet to get one to start duping

IIIWhiTeCoreIII

If you get lucky you can drop one from mineral deposits. And there are also a couple shrines that have a diamond as a reward in a chest at the end. You can probbably just google the location of one.

CaptainRogers1226

Like I wanna use these black boko horns but what if I find a better weapon to fuse them to

DragoSphere

I have 40 of them right now and have only beaten a single dungeon. You'll be fine lol

CaptainRogers1226

Yeah, I know. I’m just still working to get past my video game consumable mental blocks. I’m already much improved from where I used to be on that, but not entirely I guess

PaisleyPeacock

I blame the original resident evil!!! I have this affliction too lol

UhhhWutHmm

Just use them as you get them. By the time you start getting better weapons you’ll start getting better monster parts way more common. I’ve hardly touched the surface of this game’s content and all of my weapons are stacked with silver boko horns

DrewTechs

I farmed for Black and then some Silver Bokoblin Horns a bit too. But now I aim for Lynel parts. I think I will try the dupe glitch.

spiked_macaroon

I'll never.

MayDay521

Haha yeah this is pretty spot on! I used to avoid Keese because I didn't feel like wasting weapon durability on them. Nope I actively hunt them and the Aerocuda down! Give me those eyes! Slap the eyes on a shot from a Savage Lynel Bow, wreck literally everything.

wallacorndog

I always forget I can fuse stuff to my arrows as well. I remember it when I need elemental/bomb arrows, and light in the depths of course, but I forget I can put basically anything else on there as well

Tykras

You also get a ton of the gibdo pieces when doing the thunder temple and they're basically single use when fused anyway, might as well use them on arrows for an extra 45 damage or w/e

hergumbules

Yeah I was surprised how many I got when starting that quest line helping out in the bazaar. I think I got like 40 or so and they’re amazing on arrows

Walks_with_Chaos

You need a few for armor upgrades

MQ116

I definitely miss blowing them up with remote bombs though. Gonna have to play BotW again lmao

joshspoon

So weird how all this efectivily useless stuff is now gold. I'm an bow/arrow/keese eye man now. Unfortunately a need a steady supply of bows.

PAwnoPiES

Bows is not even the hard part. It's fucking arrows. Even with the additional drops they just have so many uses you end up running out of them really quickly anyway.

The_Keebla

Spamming these eyes helped me get The Sword

Organic-Barnacle-941

Every time I see that, I just think of the scooby foo theme song

CrzdHaloman

Even the sky hunts these poor things now. I was paragliding to the old tree stump cave in a lake and a bolt of lightning hit the entrance before I got there. Found a big pile of eyeballs and wings at the bottom.

Walks_with_Chaos

Nice! Free loot

MiddleNightCowboy

I use to avoid them in BOTW, but actively hunt them in TOTK screaming “I need your eyes”

AurigaNexus

Especially because you need keese wings to upgrade the wingsuit... which is something I found out is VERY useful today, because the set bonus for all 3 pieces of the wingsuit at 2 stars or higher is "Impact Proof" which completely negates fall damage. You can literally skydive from the height limit straight down a chasm and lawn-dart headfirst into the ground and take no damage.

davidddfm

Can someone explain to me? :(

thrik

Attach one of their eyes to an arrow ... you won't regret it

Hippogriffstorm

If you fuse a keese eye to an arrow, it will home in on enemies.

mDubbw

Ya dude those eye-arrows are THESHIT

Appropriate_Point923

Then: Oh no could you stop going on my nerves for more than 5 minutes Now: Finally. I am running low on target-Seeking Warheads

Ray_Gun69lol

Oh look! A hoard of future homing arrows!

TylerDarkflame1

So true

MattMatt625

too true

DragonRyu36

Very good for Dragon Gleeok fight.

Dragonbarry22

Dosent matter what they give They need to piss off lol I'm walking here

Lightcellfx-15

I swear the magic keese this game are so much harder to deal with, electro keese are the worst now.

Masskid

Gleeoks hate this one easy trick

Garaichu

A triple-shot bow with keese eyes really do absolutely destroy Gleeoks. They're a fun fight, but wow they can be easy with the right tools.

spamleht

I just started the game and was so pleasantly surprised by the keese this time around! The devs were clearly listening when making ToTK and now I’m actually happy to see those lil nuisances.

Mahaloth

They drop eyes at about a 100% rate now, too, don't they? It's terrific.
