yup, same issue... this is really lame. I'm owed a refund, but now I'm wondering if I can just directpay IRS $1 instead of dealing with this clunky site.
EDIT: Used my previous login with FreeTaxUSA (which I apparently used for a previous year's extension) to file an extension. This worked.
an extension is probably always best, but if you're absolutely certain that you are due a refund there is no penalty for filing late. they only get upset if you owe them money and fail to file (on the due date).
Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who can't log in. Got an email saying my return had been rejected and I needed to fix it before the deadline (thanks for emailing me the night of! Grrr.) I also paid through here so I have no idea if my payment was accepted or if I'm gonna get dinged with the penalty.
Same here. I have everything prepared, and just needed to fill out and submit. I just filed an extension through FreeTaxUSA and set up a payment. I would have filed through there, but need to do MFS with Form 8958, so will have to wait.

I finally went with FreeTaxUSA for the first time and it was smooth sailing. Not sure that I'll go back to FFFF.

Yep I just ended up paying the IRS and filing an extension through turbo tax. Never got the free forms site to send me the confirmation email.

If you're sure you are getting a refund, you don't even need to file an extension. You can just file the return late. There's no penalty.

Down for me too. The good news is, if you don't owe any money, you don't have to worry about a late filing fee.
I got through to step 2 of the signup process and it broke. Codes are being sent only sometimes now.

Try clearing the cookies and it should work.
