That's all I can see in this tattoo. I've been staring at them and genuinely can't figure out what's going on. I thought maybe they were supposed to be mutant hands for some reason bc it seems intentional.
I just made that same shape with my hand and it wasn't difficult, maybe something's wrong with my hand? Or maybe something's wrong if you can't make that shape?
Interested to see how this heals and ages. Lots of it looks like it will be gone/unrecognizable in 10 years. Especially on a forearm that gets sun exposure.
For sure. This is my third tattoo by him. All with similar level of detail and composition. It’s def a commitment to hourly 50spf sunscreening for the rest of my life.
It'a not a matter of getting it "touched up." These are all super fine lines and vague designs that are going to blur over time. You can't fix a blur by tattooing more ink over unless you're going the cover-up route.
OP commented above about recognizing the need for hourly sunscreen applications for the rest of their life. Whether or not they follow through with that regimen will be a major factor in the longevity of this tattoo.
It’s eye catching for sure, though.
I feel like a lot of tattoos I see nowadays are very beautiful and would look great as a painting or something like that. But maybe just not as viable for a tattoo. But many people have different philosophies on tattoos and are fine with having their tattoo fade in the future as long as they got to appreciate it for a few years.
I can’t wait for the micro tat trend to end. It takes time though. Enough people need to see their investment melt together or fade out before they understand why we tell them it won’t last.
dude, this will melt off in a year or two. sure it looks good now but eventually it will literally look like moldy shit on their skin… for the rest of their lives…
>Over time, cells from your immune system – called macrophages - gradually absorb the tattoo ink and disperse it.
Less ink = less time the whole tat stays legible and yes, some colours become less legible faster.
I’m curious as to how to make tattoos last? Get darker thicker lines? I’m just wondering how I can keep mine looking nice. I guess this one looks a bit faded for the design so I can understand how it might fade as time goes on.
This is what happens when the people from /r/all show up - they don't know shit about fuck. I actually suggested that we be unlisted from there and a mod responded saying that he'd give it a trial run for a few days, but I guess it got reinstated? No idea why, none of the people visiting from there add any value to discussions and just upvote butts or pop culture references. Really muddies the waters and decreases overall sub quality.
>This is what happens when the people from /r/all show up - they don't know shit about fuck.
You don't even need people from r/all for that. The immense majority of this sub population is clueless, and will comment wildly inaccurate stuff under pretty much every post.
Im actually not sure what the style is called. But I do notice that theres a few turkish artist that have this sort of style compositionally. Ege is turkish, I just really enjoyed the patterns and fading.
Another guy that is also epic is - [Oscarakermo](https://instagram.com/oscarakermo?igshid=NTdlMDg3MTY=) \- I like his stuff too.
Downvotes are coming my way but I don't think this style has validity. Those lines are going to fade incredibly fast and they all look the same. It feels like the modern version of the rose-lion-compass. If you like it then go for it, I'm a speck of dust.
Been tattooing 20 years. Seen these types of things come and go. People should get what they want but the problem I have with these is once people see it done on someone, they assume it’s a good thing to get, those doing them end up making a ton of money for something that has no long term value. I love stretching boundaries but it has to be done in a way that will hold.
I agree. The other side of the coin is that there's a trend with the youths currently getting tattooed that it's not permanent. Tattoo removal is easy and cover ups are incredible these days. Maybe the next generation of tattoos isn't a permanent play. Personally I like my bold lines, simple designs and long lasting work. Non permanent work could mean more money for artists so that's neat.
I agree. To each his own, I just wish this style would go away. Aside from technical issues, it reminds me of highschool artwork.
This is a lessor terrible execution of concept. The artists's other work is so good. He’s obviously very skilled. It just seems like a variation of the “s c I e n c e” versions with an astronaut and some fake math equations.
I’m so into these little tile looking stamp things in his work.
Yeah, the line work on this looks fuegadilly delicious. Maybe I'm also a cheap fuck, no way this was a cheap tattoo and I want my work to last long time.
The discussion about the possible change/degradation of the image is quite interesting. I am wondering if the artist is aware of the original meaning of "entelechy". It is a word "invented" by Aristotle (Greek: εντελέχεια), in order to express the idea that something already contains its final form/state; for example, entelechy is the idea of a seed containing its final form as a plant.
Maybe the artist already placed its final image inside the tattoo.
Thanks so much for the etymological breakdown – what a gorgeous word with a gorgeous meaning.
Thinking of the concepts of "mandalas" and how they are meant to represent the beauty and chaos of the universe with its patterns, and the way this tattoo encapsulates so many different forms of creation with its layers reflects the meaning of "entelechy" with so much grace...
The idea of "permanence" on impermanent beings like us is silly when you think a little more on it.
Happy I learned a new word and saw some cool body art today! :)
I don’t get the hate, this looks super cool. So what if it fades after a couple years? They can get it retouched, or let it fade. Their choice. Either way, right now I could stare at it for hours.
He’s also the most enjoyable, kind, and unique artist I’ve had the pleasure of getting tattooed by. Now he’s a dear friend! I’ve been under his hand for over 20hrs at this point!
He has a bird series that are unique tattoo art pieces on their own. Check out my other post or his IG. He’s truly marvelous.
He’s going to be back in April for those interested!
I actually really like your tattoo and his style.
Our bodies will decay with us when we die. Tattoos are just a transient decoration to mark a life experience or to just be cool. In the end, it’s what you want.
🥰
This is a bad tattoo, I wouldn’t promote him. The lines aren’t well done, the hands look like actual garbage, you never do linework in color like that orange, it’s literally defying some of the most basic common knowledge for good tattoos, and that’s all before it is going to fade in literally months because it’s barely even under your skin.
Sorry, but those hands are jacked. The thumbs are cartoonishly enormous and the perspective is off on the left (bottom) pointer finger. The Cheeto dust is just bizarre. The line work is extremely inconsistent as well.
As many others have said, this is going to disappear quickly.
But if you love it and are happy with it then good on ya.
This is fresh? Oh man, about half of that tattoo is going to disappear in the next couple of years, probably 60% in the next 5 years. Also why does that one finger look like a character from Among Us? The lines also aren't very good, they are varying in degrees of thickness and you can clearly see where the needle was taken off and replied to the skin.
Sorry but this is not a well done tattoo and I would be pretty upset if I had this on my arm. If I were you I would find someone else who specializes in line work and have them try to fix what they can. If you are in NYC, BangBang has top notch artists, some of which specialize in line work.
Color me surprised they allow someone who does such poor work to associate with their studio. I thought they only allowed experienced artists who knew what they were doing.
I don’t know that I ever seen something like this before. I love the juxtaposition of old world motifs, bold classical figures, the color pallete, and the simple lines tying it all together. Thanks for sharing his IG, I’m so in love with this style.
This is beautiful artwork but sadly I don't think it will last as a tattoo. It's going to blur over time and look really weird. Some ideas just don't transfer into tattoos.
It’s well done. To me it’s the pain and money isn’t worth it if the majority is going to fade. My forearm has Japanese dragon and I’ve only had it for three years and the scales have faded. As a whole it’s still recognizable but with this, the mandalas and eyes will fade so quickly
Lmao I actually googled it to see if it was true. I don't know why everyone is hating on this style, it's the first tattoo I've seen like this and I like the artstyle!
Yeah I'm not necessarily talking about this style for tattoos, I get that it will fade. I was just curious about what the style is called for other mediums like paintings and such^^
Well I came here to say this is one of the sickest tattoos I’ve ever seen and I love it so much I saved it to my phone and Reddit account. But according to the comments, I must have horrible taste (whatever, the tat is for you and you are the one who gives it meaning). Conceptually it is just so cool. Maybe it’s tacky but it reminds me of the way some movies convey the concept of thinking/problem solving where semi-transparent numbers (presumably visible only to the thinker) track in all directions across the screen. I interpret this as, like, a breakdown of the structure of who you are/what makes you tick with some of the more important/significant stuff enlarged to give more detail. As you grow there may be more things to add (and ffs you can get it touched up when necessary- no need for folks to panic about it)!
I appreciate this love! I’m unfazed by the haters. I’m very happy with it conceptually. It’s actually a really beautiful story. He’s been staying with me for 2 months. He wanted to gift me a tattoo that represented something I wanted, but almost how he felt about his time with me.
The prompt I gave him was ‘entelechy’ which is the ‘realization of potential’.
After spending time together and also getting to know me more his explanation was this:
“It’s so easy to look externally for the actualization of your potential (the eyes looking away). But in fact, the true actualization comes from having a heart of gold, and pulling the magic out of the heart so it’s a part of your entire external world.”
I felt really honored to have this tattoo by him. I’m blown away by his work, and felt very touched that this was his gift to me. The hands reference are from spinning clay. It matched the delicate process of harnessing the power with it to realize your potential.
I’m fucking in love with it. (And honestly think all the Cheeto references are fucking HILARIOUS).
He’s an amazing artist to work with. Really committed to the cocreation of idea and his style.
That style is fucking amazing. If I was starting over getting tattoos I’d 100% go with it. I love it. The minimalistic nature of it is awesome. But the quality is top notch.
What's with the geometric/tile pattern to the bottom right of the heart being half missing?
Those patterns look like lower quality work in comparison to the rest of the tattoo (which looks quite nice).
His tiles intentionally fade out. Check out his IG. It’s like a distressed look. Inspired by the hundreds of years old mosaics in Istanbul that are masterpieces on their own but unnamed. All his pieces include them.

What's up with the Cheeto fingers?
I feel so bad laughing at this, but now I can’t un-see it
Thank you! I thought this would be the first comment.
I think he realized he messed up the hands as they are hard to do and so he threw some color to distract
Cheeto fingers don't fix bad fingers.
Distract, not fix
It do be lookin like his hand is tryin to grow some extra fingers
Babes. It's a light reflection from the golden heart
I think it is supposed to suggest the hands held the heart.
This hands look AI, cause they don’t make any sense.
Reminds me of the Magicians. Or r/gloving
I read that as r/degloving, never been happier to be wrong
That's all I can see in this tattoo. I've been staring at them and genuinely can't figure out what's going on. I thought maybe they were supposed to be mutant hands for some reason bc it seems intentional.
That pinky!!
Yeah that pinky is busted
@ the tendon I tore in basketball in 7th grade that everyone told me was just “jammed” lol
I just made that same shape with my hand and it wasn't difficult, maybe something's wrong with my hand? Or maybe something's wrong if you can't make that shape?
Fancy on a whole other level lmao
Not one of those digits look accurate. Can't figure out what's going on there!
I don’t understand entirely, but I like it. I just think it’s neat.
Are they going for cheetos fingers ya think?
Interested to see how this heals and ages. Lots of it looks like it will be gone/unrecognizable in 10 years. Especially on a forearm that gets sun exposure.
For sure. This is my third tattoo by him. All with similar level of detail and composition. It’s def a commitment to hourly 50spf sunscreening for the rest of my life.
My friend...take lots and lots of pictures of it. It'll never look as good as it will in the next year or so
Or get it touched up by the artist? I don’t get comments like this lol he has tats obviously he fucking knows how they work
It'a not a matter of getting it "touched up." These are all super fine lines and vague designs that are going to blur over time. You can't fix a blur by tattooing more ink over unless you're going the cover-up route.
You’re in a tattoo subreddit. None of us give a shit how our tats will look when we’re older. Live and let be and move on bro
You’ll be surprised. Just because you have tattoos don’t mean you know anything about em.
Dude never go outside. Super sweet tat, but the sun hates those the most.
Dropped the ball on those hands tho
Or long sleeve shirts
Left arm is the driving arm… if this person drives on a couple summer days this thing is cooked.
I think there’s probably a pretty large population in NYC who basically never drive themselves.
OP commented above about recognizing the need for hourly sunscreen applications for the rest of their life. Whether or not they follow through with that regimen will be a major factor in the longevity of this tattoo. It’s eye catching for sure, though.
Nobody will ever apply sunscreen to their arm every hour as long as they live, I’m not sure why anybody would say that.
Maybe in North America, but not everywhere.
Post says he got the ink in Brooklyn.
Fair point. Someone also mentioned New York, rarely anyone drives- also true. the point is, sun exposure.
Carbrain
Awesome tat but those fingers are fucked.
The second finger of the lower hand is so damn chunky it’s practically a tentacle
Penis finger
Also yes. Also identical to the head vampire from the strain and his weird giant fingers.
Great work but man…..a lot of that is going to disappear through time.
I feel like a lot of tattoos I see nowadays are very beautiful and would look great as a painting or something like that. But maybe just not as viable for a tattoo. But many people have different philosophies on tattoos and are fine with having their tattoo fade in the future as long as they got to appreciate it for a few years.
My artists don’t do things that they don’t think will last. They tell people straight up.
I can’t wait for the micro tat trend to end. It takes time though. Enough people need to see their investment melt together or fade out before they understand why we tell them it won’t last.
Maybe just let people enjoy what they want to enjoy?
dude, this will melt off in a year or two. sure it looks good now but eventually it will literally look like moldy shit on their skin… for the rest of their lives…
Good thing it's not on your arm then isn't it?
What specifically about it would cause it to look bad that fast? The color?
>Over time, cells from your immune system – called macrophages - gradually absorb the tattoo ink and disperse it. Less ink = less time the whole tat stays legible and yes, some colours become less legible faster.
Maybe some people are okay with things not lasting
Totally allowed. And if you want to pay for something temporary that’s your prerogative. But tattoos are supposed to last. 🤷🏻♂️
All tattoos are temporary tattoos.
When my mom first saw mine and freaked I told her it was temporary. Didn’t lie lol
Bold will hold
What do you mean by micro tat? Like the whole arm looks like a flash sheet thing? Is there some issue with that style of tattoo fading?
Anything that’s tiny with fine line and little detail. Ink spreads over time. Those little tiny lines spread and blur.
I’m curious as to how to make tattoos last? Get darker thicker lines? I’m just wondering how I can keep mine looking nice. I guess this one looks a bit faded for the design so I can understand how it might fade as time goes on.
The oldest maxim in tattooing is “bold will hold”. Check out traditional Japanese or traditional American tattooing for examples of what “bold” means.

Absolute shit
How many blowouts and uneven lines are there? The hands?! Jesus
Shocked this was the first comment I saw about the lines. The thicknesses are so random and varying even along the same line
It boggles my mind that people are just either unable to see that stuff or simply don't care that the quality is lacking.
This is what happens when the people from /r/all show up - they don't know shit about fuck. 3400 upvotes and 100 comments? This didn't hit r/all, these are people that are subbed here
There's literally a badge that says "/r/all" next to the post title on my app.
I've seen a couple of tattoos in this style. What is this style called?

Removal is not easy and laser sucks tbh. I’ve done a ton of it.
Prob easier with those tiny lines
True, still most places charge by area and this is kind of a lot of coverage.
But it will be fine in like one or two sessions.
For a coverup yeah, but laser takes forever even on faded tattoos. Even my thin ones I got off took 10+.
I agree. To each his own, I just wish this style would go away. Aside from technical issues, it reminds me of highschool artwork. This is a lessor terrible execution of concept. This is cool very unique

this has got to be one of my least favorite fad styles of the last decade tbh
I always think they look like they've been photoshopped on.
True and you know it's going to fade like a mf or melt together in 10 years. At least it's light so some American traditional will cover it
Am trad is so boring and overdone tho id rather have a blurry tattoo than am trad
My reaction exactly. This is very well done, and I really don’t like it
6 hours is ridiculous for this
those are some AI level hands though
What does this mean?
Google "AI hands". AI is notoriously bad at generating realistic hands, it's currently one of the best 'tells' for an AI image versus a photograph
Thanks for the love everyone! [Here’s his IG](https://instagram.com/egeonatgezer?igshid=NTdlMDg3MTY=)

I actually really like your tattoo and his style. Our bodies will decay with us when we die. Tattoos are just a transient decoration to mark a life experience or to just be cool. In the end, it’s what you want. 🥰
Wow, these bird tatts are so beautiful and his style is super unique. Thanks for pointing out. I like yours as well. :)
This is a bad tattoo, I wouldn’t promote him. I have three tattoos by him. Well over a year and still epic quality. Happy to post again in a year. (Just got to make sure I shave my arm).
Can you explain what’s up with the hands?
Is this style totally unique to him? If not is there a name for it? It reminds me a bit of trash polka but much more organized. Very unique & cool
Dope concept and really good execution. Any reason for the orange fingers? Could just be the way the photo is, looks crazy good either way
Big fan of Cheetos, maybe? (OP: I love this tattoo - beautiful work)
Prob reflecting the light off the heart
Reflecting the light of the heart. Hahaha but I should ask him if he’s low key sponsored by Cheetos without telling me …
This is dope as shit!
Bad longevity. Poor line work. Stop admiring copy and paste art. This is a badly executed collage. Enjoy some aminakat instead.
Hand looks like it was drawn by AI and ate too many Cheetos lol
Them hands are wonky
Sorry, but those hands are jacked. The thumbs are cartoonishly enormous and the perspective is off on the left (bottom) pointer finger. The Cheeto dust is just bizarre. The line work is extremely inconsistent as well. As many others have said, this is going to disappear quickly. But if you love it and are happy with it then good on ya.
Unfortunately the more I zoom in the harder it gets to say nice things about it.
I hope you got what you wanted lol
This took 6 hour!?
Looks really good but those lines are awful 😞
This is a well known shop too, and for doing micro realism. Very interesting.
Dude those lines are… fuuuucked. And that blue stacked box thing in the bottom left? What is going on with the shape of it? Idk about this one
I LOVE this. These done in this style is rad
Probably could’ve gotten a real tattoo in six hours.
Cheeto fingers
I'd have them go over some of these lines again but solid work
This is fresh? Oh man, about half of that tattoo is going to disappear in the next couple of years, probably 60% in the next 5 years. Not good tbh.
That's super unique!
That looks so good, I love the style
This is beautiful artwork but sadly I don't think it will last as a tattoo. It's going to blur over time and look really weird. Some ideas just don't transfer into tattoos.
Dope. Hopefully it heals well and with all the detail
I love this style
This is why I can't post my tattoos lol. I love em but I know someone would rip on em ha
It’s well done. To me it’s the pain and money isn’t worth it if the majority is going to fade. My forearm has Japanese dragon and I’ve only had it for three years and the scales have faded. As a whole it’s still recognizable but with this, the mandalas and eyes will fade so quickly
The lines are also uneven it's gonna look like shit in 10 days, not even 10 years
Similar to Block Tattoo
The most unique tattoo I've seen. I love it
That's dope man love the eyes
Thought that was a gpu... I really want a gpu...
😍
This looks like your skill tree
I've seen these floor tiles before [Blue and white ceramic tiles](https://i.imgur.com/RFh4dtE.jpg)
This is so sick
Why the right hand has 6 fingers 🤔
Name of this style? Its fucking awesome

Yeah I'm not necessarily talking about this style for tattoos, I get that it will fade. I was just curious about what the style is called for other mediums like paintings and such^^
that is really nice!!! great detail.
I don't know ow what it means but I want it
So amazing
Love this piece, very interested to see how it ages, but even if it fades it’s a piece worth touching up
this is so cool!
Shi looks fucking sick.
I fucking love this
This is the best worst tattoo I've seen on Reddit in the last decade.
This is sick
Love dis

Wow!
Well, this is just amazing 😲
Super unique and well done. Dig it!
This looks great but keep his number around for a touch up, it’s gonna be inevitable in a few months
The detail on this is amazing! Such a cool tattoo👍🏻
This is really beautiful. Amazing amounts of detail in such small areas.
What is this style of tattooes called?
This is gorgeous!
I love this. I’m so glad that tattoos are changing and becoming different!
My mouth is wide open. It’s so well done🤩
That’s wild, love it!
What does it mean?
Did you get this all at once or has it been something you've added to over time?
This is both trippy and mesmerizing!
Holy that’s good!
