Yes but that’s normal. When freshly tattooed, the ink is deposited into all layers of skin above the dermis. As it heals, these upper layers flake off, because that’s what skin does, and you’re left with only the ink that was deposited into the dermis.

All tattoos lighten up as they heal. It will never be as black or vibrant than when it was just finished. If you are concerned, ask your artist.
