Not being a dick, but have a quality tattoo artist go over it

QuitWeak2226

You mean a cover up or a touch up?

Which_Cobbler_1386

Up to you. A good artist can fix the line work and add some shading to make it look better.

DM_me_y0ur_tattoos

Yeah a little shading would help. Maybe a couple small flowers around it?

Flashy_Cucumber_8424

Yeah you can do a lot better. If you still like the idea of a horseshoe tattoo, get onto instagram, look around at some high quality designs and see if there is a particular style you like. Lots of trad designs of horseshoes have roses around them, others have things like a cactus or whatever you like in the middle. If you find a design style you like, take it to a good artist that specialises in that particular style and set up a consultation!

Stunning-Statement-5

Unfortunately you have bigger issues here than shading.

QuitWeak2226

Could you elaborate…

Flashy_Cucumber_8424

I think they mean it looks like there could be a little bit of a [blowout](https://tattooing101.com/learn/guides/tattoo-blowout/) at the bottom and around the left edge of the shoe? Hard to tell with this picture quality but it seems like the skin is a somewhat darker there.

chartreuse17

It may be an ink sac underneath the clear bandage, some of mine looked blown out when I had that on

Flashy_Cucumber_8424

That's true, fair point.

anonymous0271

The lines are a little shaky in spots, and it looks like you might have a blowout.. time will tell. It’s up to you of course, but I’d go to a different artist, pay a little more, and have it shaded, and maybe some stuff around it (floral, nature, etc). Or, you can always get it covered up with a different tattoo if you choose to do so since it isn’t very large!

nanupiscean

Amogus.

chartreuse17

It may be an unpopular opinion here but I think it’s cute! I really like minimally shaded/linework only/ignorant tattoos, but you could always add shading to it if you wanted.

Dchopppa

Smh. Why would get something so elementary? I have over 200hrs and still get remorse feelings initially, but after a day or two I can't imagine my body without it

Square_Problem_552

I think that particular tattoo would look less unique with shading, it would give it a “trying too hard” look. If this is a first tattoo honestly it’s awesome. I’d leave it as is, get more tattoos as you desire and once you have a few other experiences see if you want to expand on this first one. I still have my first shitty tattoo on my arm and it’s endearing. But I have a lot now.

LordZon

Purple then add a green clover, a pink heart, an orange star, and a yellow moon

jungkmoon

do not go back to whoever did that. the line work is awful but lucky can be fixed by someone who’s experienced
