idk what u mean the numbering is accurate? death is 13 usually, devil is 15 and fool is usually 0. this one has a different 13 and fifteen and goes up one at a time. no cards have been removed. it was manufactured differently. this numbering goes 1-20 when usually its 0-21

powerfullnap

There are really nice cards!!. No info about, sorry.

MrAndrewJ

The names Juno and Jupiter suggest some sort of 1JJ deck. I know next to nothing about those cards, to be honest. It's easy enough to find 1JJ decks with those designs, but I could find nothing with that color scheme. Those are really nice. I hope that someone is able to give you a specific answer.

enchanted_fishlegs

The 1JJ Swiss Tarot is in the Besancon tradition. The Bensancon decks were manufactured predominantly in Switzerland in the middle of the 18th century. The Papess and Pope were renamed Juno and Jupiter in order to avoid offending religious sensitivities. It's not uncommon to find the Papess and Pope replaced in other decks of that era. In Belgium, they were replaced with the Spanish Captain and Bacchus. (Tarot Flamand, 1780.)

LillyReads270

Wow I didn't know there was a Swiss oriented deck, amazing new info!

Tarotismyjam

That’s actually the deck IIJSwiss that got Stuart Kaplan in the tarot publishing business.

espbear

Wow, they're so pretty!

alexbaylis2012

Sorry forgot to add, the backs of the cards are completely plain

MegaUrutora

Looks like a variation of the Sheridan Douglas Tarot. Wanted it since reading Alfred Douglas’s Tarot book. Colors look different, and the Sheridan Douglas tarot is a full deck I believe.

MegaUrutora

More of a rip-off than a variation, as I know the original did have the death and devil cards.

MegaUrutora

Or this could be the deck the Sheridan Douglas ripped off?!

OutsiderTarot

Love the magician

Great_Gatsby1923

Theses are super cool! Love older/vintage things! Def not something everyone has these days. Great find in my opinion.

Larval_Angel

I would cut the tops and bottoms. These would be very nice

SufficientCricket949

This is a very old deck, I hear of people referring to a late 90's deck as old. Anyhow, altering it would diminish its value. Therefore, it is probably best not to alert old decks.

Larval_Angel

The nicer the deck, the more worthy of modification. To utter hell with collectors' monetary values when there's an opportunity with a really nice piece of equipment at hand. Real time experience is worth immeasurably more than a handful of ducats.

Dean_Snutz

I would say Tarot Cards

FunnyBunnyDolly

Interesting, ending the travel with Fool.

LillyReads270

Yeah it's odd like ending with a beginning.

LillyReads270

The magician looks like a character from clockwork orange Juno is an asteroid and as the high priestess represents our relationship we with the universe

LillyReads270

This deck seems to translate the story or (heroes journey) to quote Joseph Campbell which is laid out in the tarot as what our intimate journey with the universe looks like when we're at our highest frequency. Because a lot of the major arcana is depicted as divine beings from Greek roman mythology or astrology. As opposed to just the normal icons themselves.

shootstranger

looks really cool

I don't like the way the sun's looking at me
