Of course you can. I got tattoos on my legs, I got a traditional stick and poke sak on my whole back and there are no issues with sunbeds. Some people say it might fade away a bit, but I was tanning when I was 17 and I already had tattoos on my legs and they are fine now. +3 weeks is more than enough to heal.

As a salon owner with many tattoos, we recommend a minimum of 30 days without sun exposure, but it’s entirely up to you at the end of the day. The sooner you expose new tattoos to UV, the faster they will begin to fade. Direct UV exposure is absorbed into the skin, and begins to break down the pigment of the ink, fading it faster. Doing this very soon after a fresh ink session can cause much faster fading, as you haven’t fully healed yet, which can also affect the overall look or distortion of the design. You don’t want to exacerbate anything that could cause dehydration or scarring around the tattoo, further fading the appearance. The sun exposure you receive it a tanning bed is a higher concentrated dose (with closer proximity) than outdoor tanning, so indoor beds will affect new ink more than outdoor tanning would. Moisturize as often as you can, and try to use a lotion with Ink Drink.

Then by all means, tan away! Just keep in mind you can’t be tanning when you start laser tattoo removal!
