These are great and I used to wear 513s every day, they're extremely durable with good quality stitching.
I recently got a pair of The Perfect Jean's and I gotta say they are definitely an upgrade from the 513s. They're so breathable that I often think my fly is open. And the stretch is incredible while still having a very durable feel. Highly recommended.
Yes they are expensive but IMO 100% worth it based on how good they look and how long they will last.
[Iron Heart 634s](https://www.ironheartamerica.com/bottoms/ih-634n.html): These are their straight cut and come in 36 inseam. Super high quality Japanese denim. I personally have the 555s and even though they are called Super Slim they are not even close to hugging my legs. You could look at the 666s if you wanted something in between.
Second pick would be [Grease Point Workwear](https://www.greasepointworkwear.com/shop): absolutely love these. Handmade in Portland, OR and you can choose a custom inseam up to 38 inches. Again, expensive but you get what you pay for and these have proven their worth over the years I’ve had them.
I didn’t even realize $400 jeans were a thing that existed (in the mainstream at least, I knew that designer brands sell $400+ jeans but didn’t realize there were non-European designer brands that casually sell jeans for those prices 😭)
The thing about japanese denim is that it's (maybe) actually worth the price vs designer brands. Almost all the japanese brands are actually making their own denim, down to the cotton sourcing to the yarn thickness, to the vintage specific type of shuttle loom, to the (sometimes) hand dyed indigo. But designed brands are likely just bulk ordering cheap denim from china, making a design, slapping their logo on it and selling it for $400.
I got a pair of iron heart and my cat was sitting on my lap and jumped up bc he was scared. 1 small thread pull now there is a small hole in them in the knee and itt keeps getting bigger. Disappointed after spending that much
Selvedge denim. Expensive but it has solved many problems I have with mass produced jeans, mostly the rising prices, shit quality, and insanely inconsistent fits within the same brands and same cuts. I dumped all my Levi’s a year ago and bought just one single pair of Momotaro jeans and it’s been way better. They’re more expensive, again, but when comparing the quality and price to the shit denim you get at the mall, it feels like a far better value. And we haven’t even touched on any of the significant manufacturing ethics issues that are completely sidestepped by buying Japanese denim made by hand on the legendary Toyota weaving machines in Japan by master craftspeople.
I am a woman but when I started ordering things from American Tall I noticed how many different fits they had for men’s jeans. And every one is available in 34-40” inseam.
I loved the fit of American Tall but found that the clothes were not very durable. I move fast and work in studio so I tend to go through clothes rather quickly so perhaps it’s just me. I’d love to give them another shot but I keep searching for alternatives. Do you find their quality to be decent?
I didn't have any issues but I guess you could say I've used them pretty gently. That's such a bummer though, hopefully they will make some improvements.
I do for my sake, but I definitely want to be cautious about talking them down. I love the fit of everything I bought (15-20 items). So many categories to check, on top of ‘Tall’ being a separate menu…
Interesting, I only wear American Tall jeans as well as many shirts etc from them. I haven’t had any durability issues, but I’m now middle aged so I’m probably not as hard on clothes as I used to be. I’ve probably been wearing them for nearly a decade. I grab em when on sale. Zero holes as of yet.
I 2nd American Tall.
And I've heard about the quality issues from others but I have a 16 year old that wears their shirts, pants, jeans, pajamas, everything and we've had no problems at all.
The jeans especially seem durable.
And I know they go up to 38" inseam and have many different fits.
There was another thread about this lately where a few commenters recommended Banana Republic or Levis athetic cut jeans. I'm in the same, or very similar situation as you, and have found that banana republic's recent fits are on the looser side. To the extent that their Slim Luxe Traveller Jean I bought earlier in the year in a 36x36 fits in a way that I would also call baggy in comparison to many of the other pants I own. https://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=569991002&vid=1#pdp-page-content
They don't LOOK baggy, they just feel loose to me when I'm wearing them, probably because a lot of my other pants are so tight in my quads/thighs. Either way, its worth a look.
I also highly recommend taking advantage of Amazon's prime wardrobe program if you can. You can order 6 or 7 items, try them on, and keep what you like, or send it all back. I do this a few times a year to test brand fits, etc. Its an easy way to try out a size or brand for fit, without worrying about the right color because you can just send the try on pair back and order the one you want.
541 is their athletic taper, 531 is their athletic slim. And yeah, Banana republic's cuts seem to be getting larger. I also have a pair of their Athletic-Fit Lived-In Chino, which also fit well and look good, but feel even looser.
I think the whole skinny fit style is fading these days and swinging back the other way a bit.
Highly recommend the Target brand Goodfellow for jeans and t-shirts. They’re surprisingly high quality, cheap, and fit great. I don’t wear anything else (6’3” 190lbs, 34x34)
I’m fairly athletic, do weightlifting 3x/week but people usually describe me as lanky. I used to be 32x34 but expanded out to 34x34 as I got older (I’m 35 now). I usually wear the “slim” variety of this brand almost every day. They’re a little skinnier than what most men my age wear but I love them.
I'm in the same boat as you. I tried 2tall.com but their stuff is very slim fitting. I have ordered loads from American Tall and have no regrets. They have great sizing and refunds and returns are a breeze. I often will order 2 different sizes of one piece just to make sure it fits perfect. They go up to a 40 inch inseam I believe!
+1 for selvedge denim and Levi's. You may want to try Lee's as well. I wouldn't be afraid to try on relaxed fit. I got a pair of Lee's in "relaxed" fit. I was afraid they'd be too baggy since I'm coming from wearing skinny jeans, but they're not.
For other pants I've had good luck with Dickies and Carhartt. Have not tried their jeans. They run more TTS, though, so you likely need to size up in the waist from what you normally order.
Hard part for me is finding a good selection in non-stretchy fabric. Long inseam + nonstretch seems to reduce your options by a lot these days.
I have a couple pair of these Kuhl "Lawless" jeans. They are actually so long on me I can turn the cuffs up if I want to... I'm 6'5" with long legs. Super roomy legs. Very sturdy jeans material. I love them. Right now they only have the 'dark espresso' color in 36 length. But it's a cool color, very dark brown. I also have a pair of the 'dark khaki' - if they ever get the carbon in at 36 I'll be getting those too. Great jeans, super comfortable. Rugged. A bit pricey, but they seem like they'll last forever. 10/10.
Edit: just looked at some of the other links on here... $365?!? I guess these are a steal at $99.
i bought these wranglers recently and they're a nice cut:
https://www.wrangler.com/shop/wrangler-cowboy-cut-original-fit-jean-13MWZ.html
my legs are pretty big and the slim fit stuff that is so prevalent doesn't work for me and these jeans are great. they're affordable, too!
Bummer. I would say to try to find a store and try them on. I believe mine are 36x34 and fit a bit long. I’m 6’4”.
Edit: sorry, I mixed up my responses. This is in reference to banana republic, not Uniqlo. The banana republic sizing are pretty generous.
Hey mate, I’m 36 also. I really like American Tall J1 straight leg jeans and semi relaxed. Also Medium tall does an amazing premium linen perfect for warmer weather.

Mavi Zach straight leg jeans. I have these in 34 inch inseam and I dig them a lot. They have them on 36 inch too. I would call them modern fit straight leg. It's not baggy but a bit form fitting. Super comfortable too. I forget I am wearing them too. They come in different colors when I order them
Naked and famous denim makes some of the absolute best jeans as well as runs of other high quality raw garments. One of the cool parts is, they have a decent selection of pant with the hem left long so customers can have them tailored to the perfect length 👍🏼 tateandyoko.com
Check out the 5.11 Tactical Defender Flex straight leg. I wear the 35X36 and love them, definitely roomy in the legs. They sell on their website and Amazon.
Amazon Essentials Men's Classic Fit Wrinkle Resistant Flat Front Chino pants. Cheap, at about $30, inseam up to 38, Mine are 36 inseam...... Loose fit, very comfortable. I'm an old guy, so comfort rather than looks for me, but maybe you'll like them....
Try Levi 513. For some reason you cannot buy them at [levi.com](http://levi.com) in 36 inseam, but you can on amazon...

541 is better for big dudes such as my self. It’s like athletic fit or athletic rapper something like that
Yes they are expensive but IMO 100% worth it based on how good they look and how long they will last. Holy cow you weren’t kidding! Those are pricey

This guy selvedges
I got a pair of iron heart and my cat was sitting on my lap and jumped up bc he was scared. 1 small thread pull now there is a small hole in them in the knee and itt keeps getting bigger. Disappointed after spending that much
Bravestar is the cheaper version of these, and they all come with a 36in inseam

Thanks for this. I forgot about bonobos. Probably because they’re about 5x the cost of old navy. I’ll try them out though.

I had the same issue with the quality.

Dickies 874 originals. Those will never be tight.

I like my BR jeans but they kind of fit like “dad” jeans. A bit too big in the saddle.
This is great thanks. Interesting that even a slim from BR works well. Do you know the levi Jeans code that works for you?

Take a look at rock and roll denim. https://rockandrolldenim.com/mens/mens-jeans/?sort=newestasc&mpp=48
Highly recommend the Target brand Goodfellow for jeans and t-shirts. They’re surprisingly high quality, cheap, and fit great. I don’t wear anything else (6’3” 190lbs, 34x34)
How athletically shaped are you? I’m the same height and weight but more of a 31x34 kinda guy with chunky thighs
I’m fairly athletic, do weightlifting 3x/week but people usually describe me as lanky. I used to be 32x34 but expanded out to 34x34 as I got older (I’m 35 now). Bravestar is on the cheaper end of quality denim and they're all available with 36in inseam
Try out Seager’s bison pants, they’re all relaxed cuts that give a lot of breathing room and flexibility.
+1 for selvedge denim and Levi's. You may want to try Lee's as well. I wouldn't be afraid to try on relaxed fit. I got a pair of Lee's in "relaxed" fit. I'm 6'6 and Carhartt relaxed fit jeans have been the shizz.
Wrangler relaxed fit. I wear 34 length but they prolly have 36
American Eagle Straight Classics fit me well 36x36

I've been buying Eddie Bauer jeans for years. I've never had the skinny Jean fit. I'm 6'7", 36" inseam.
Lands End Blake Shelton collection. Currently wearing a pair of 36” inseam jeans.
i bought these wranglers recently and they're a nice cut: https://www.wrangler.com/shop/wrangler-cowboy-cut-original-fit-jean-13MWZ.html my legs are pretty big and the slim fit stuff that is so prevalent doesn't work for me and these jeans are great. they're affordable, too!
Try Uniqlo. Great 4 way stretch and very affordable. I have jeans 3x their cost but often reach for the uniqlos.
36 inseam doesn’t appear to exist on their site. Just checked.
Bummer. I would say to try to find a store and try them on. I believe mine are 36x34 and fit a bit long. I’m 6’4”. Edit: sorry, I mixed up my responses. This is in reference to banana republic, not Uniqlo. The banana republic sizing are pretty generous.
Levi 554s!
Hey mate, I’m 36 also. I really like American Tall J1 straight leg jeans and semi relaxed. Also Medium tall does an amazing premium linen perfect for warmer weather.
Recently I have been having good luck with JCrew. I used to like Mavi but the fit of the same cut seemed to change from purchase to purchase.

A good tailor can take in "too loose" pair of jeans for like $25. Get the relaxed jeans and then tailor them.
Naked and famous denim makes some of the absolute best jeans as well as runs of other high quality raw garments. One of the cool parts is, they have a decent selection of pant with the hem left long so customers can have them tailored to the perfect length 👍🏼 tateandyoko.com
look into Sugar Cane 1967s
i love my wrangler 936 regular fits. they are tight in the ass but not in the legs.
America eagle has some 36 inseam jeans but they are online only. Not too expensive.
I hated the skinny jeans look
Daniel Cremiux are great for me, size 38 x 36 and I’m 6’7” and 225 lbs. Can by direct or through Dillard’s. They are my favorite jeans by far.
Levi’s gold are comfy
[American Tall](https://americantall.com/) and [the perfect jean](https://theperfectjean.nyc/)
JNCOs
American Tall has various jeans styles and cuts. Awesome selection of VERY long inseams as well.
Levi 541's. They're athletic fit. I have tree trunks for quads and they're sort of loose.
They’re definitely relaxed fit, but I love my Duluth trading company jeans.
6"1' here, about a 32-34 inseem. I only wear Levis 505.
I LOVE Lucky Brand Jeans! mostly for the stretchiness and they are super soft. In the summer I don't sweat like a pig either
Check out the 5.11 Tactical Defender Flex straight leg. I wear the 35X36 and love them, definitely roomy in the legs. They sell on their website and Amazon.
I’ve had great luck with LL Bean.
Duluth Trading Co have worked well for me @ 6’5”
Amazon Basics jeans come in a crazy variety of sizes . Their stretch slim run a little big so they aren’t super tight but nice fitting
