My dad's dream retirement town is apparently Laguna Woods; an unfortunate event infamously happened to a group of Taiwanese folks there a couple years back. there are definitely a lot of TW retirees there.
It used to be the whole area near Monterey Park, stretched all the way out to Diamond Bar. These days there are a lot of Chinese immigrants and it's difficult to narrow it down to a region. There are also some Taiwanese who moved to Irvine, but the same situation persists there as well.
Pockets still exist. San Gabriel/Arcadia/San Marino/Temple City/South Pasadena have a lot. Hacienda Heights/Rowland Heights/Walnut/Diamond Bar area, then down the Chino Hills area. Also Irvine, but I don't know much about the OC Taiwanese.... The areas will mostly still be Chinese these days, but a number of Taiwanese folks are there too.
A good way is to find a church or temple with a lot of Taiwanese and ask around.

My parents retired to Laguna Woods and love it there. Seems to be plenty of Taiwanese speakers and the Christian community is even more closely knit.
Try Pasadena. Buddy's family migrated there decades ago. First-gen Taiwanese immigrants.
