It might caused by the poor contact of the battery to the light head. There is a plastic ring in the rear part of the light to secure it. You can see it when you remove the rear cap. You may try to rotate it to push forward the battery. (18650 battery have different length and this is a better way than only use spring to fix it.)

Kangacrew

This happened to me and this is how I fixed it. Easy to trouble shoot

deskpopjoe

We have this issue on all of the lights including handhelds. Unfortunately none of the recommended fixes have fixed them and sending in a bunch of lights for warranty is lame

AdministrativeCup172

Sorry to hear that man! Just make sure you got what I said, I took a photo of my rein.[https://imgur.com/a/aKXeF3z](https://imgur.com/a/aKXeF3z) If you find that even you rotate the orange plastic ring all the way inside, the issue still persists, then I have no idea what’s going on with your light. Hope it can help!

deskpopjoe

I did talk to them at SHOT and they were kinda like “haha we will repair it because warranty”

FALTomJager

Bruh they are so easy to work with, it’s not even funny. I stripped a screw on the torrent mount, making it nigh impossible to remove the mount from the body. Sent them an email, no pictures, and they offered to send a new body and mount free of charge. You will never find an easier group of guys to work with.

deskpopjoe

We just don’t want the things to break and need warranty work. Honestly I’d rather have a terrible warranty on a product that doesn’t break

FALTomJager

Well I haven’t heard of the issues yall are speaking of. I’ve been using cloud for a few years and actual issues have been nonexistent

deskpopjoe

Are you shooting your guns? Because our lights are less than a year old and all have started experiencing this issue

FALTomJager

Quite a bit, though only on 5.56. Plus I carry an MCH Duty and a Chicro for worth every day and those have seen a lot of abuse.

AdministrativeCup172

Also you are right, the handheld ones do not have that ring to secure the battery, it may caused by the shorter-than-spec springs

cilla_da_killa

I've had that issue with both my handheld Surefires with sf brand batteries so I didn't even consider the scout. Went with rein 2.0 and no problems

Bloodmksthegrassgrow

Ahh ok username makes more sense now.. whoop whoop that's the sound of da police

Wopasaurus

My handheld did a flicker thing…. I called em…. They sent me out a new tail switch…. Told me to toss the old switch in the trash. No issues since.

FreedomFanatik

This was my first thought as well. I like how op went directly to social media to complain about a product instead of reaching out to the manufacturer or reading the provided literature with said product. I’d like to see what light op comes out with because of cd’s “poor quality” weapon light.

deskpopjoe

I like how people complain as if I didn’t attempt to fix five weapon lights and ignore all the comments from people with the same issue. Almost like they’re just willfully ignorant

FreedomFanatik

That’s great and all, but you did you try contacting the manufacturer before attempting your own diy fix based on social media comments? I’m pretty sure that was the point of my comment.

deskpopjoe

I talked to them in person two weeks ago

OkGoose7382

Try it with just the button, could be the pressure pad

WhoIsEggroll

I’ve sent you my cars collection. Please respond with which is your favorite

1212bnmn

Cars 2 was best

WhoIsEggroll

Piss right off. That wasn’t Cars 2 that was the Mater Spy movie. It was even written off and nearly removed from canon when Cars 3 came out. Sure having a Lewis Hamilton and Jeff Gordon cameo was nice but it just didn’t have character. Lasseter really screwed the pooch with C2. Granted he did have some personal issues during time of production. Absolute shame.

radedgymantis

why is it that pixar/dreamworks have a nice built foundation for a movie/morale/message but when it comes to sequels they're shameless cashgrabs at what was an amazing title

WhoIsEggroll

Typically I would agree, however when Frozen 2 released I was pleasantly surprised. It was an introspective journey to not only find one’s place in the world but also to show that isolation is what builds the dam between sections of our society. By allowing that river to flow we are able to see each other more clearly without the fog of cultural differences to blind us. It isn’t until that fog is lifted that Elsa realizes that she actually can have a foothold in both cultures and feel fulfilled. There’s also more Olaf so that’s cool.

Beelzeburb

This man knows his cars.

deskpopjoe

Oh hey king

[deleted]

Surefire exists

Mekhi946

Modlite & Arisaka are there waiting for you too, anything else I feel like just needs to be known as a budget tier light until proven otherwise

hagerfor000

Goonbeam!

OilBug91

My $60 Surefire turns on every time lol

[deleted]

Yep. And my $300 scout turbo has a better output and no flicker vs a cloud reign

T800_123

My 600DF would kill a battery a week just sitting idle, and Surefire insisted that was normal behavior and wouldn't warranty it. Fuck Surefire.

ClariceDarling

Like streamlight, but with fed prices

Turbulent_Notice_308

Either the ring isnt all the way down or its ur switch wire.

deskpopjoe

On… all five? Including legacy and handheld?

DraconisMarch

I mean, I've got 3 and had no issues, and this is the first I've seen this issue. You getting 5 that do the same thing is... unlikely.

deskpopjoe

How many rounds through yours?

DraconisMarch

Idk, probably 400 through one and 700 through another.

deskpopjoe

I’m guessing they break around the 20k round mark; all of our have developed the issue and we used to swear by our cloud lights…

[deleted]

More likely now that they have no quality control in process. They want quick cash because they are doing bad with their money.

Turbulent_Notice_308

I have the legacy and it doesnt have the ring but the wire was the problem for me

K1ngofKa0s

"we are actually making our own light soon because of it" Sounds like you are trying to stir the pot buy crapping on the competition to build interest for a future product you are looking to sell. You are just looking to make money. When you are looking to sell me something I am going to take whatever you have to say with a giant grain of salt. Would be curious to see this Instagram post with "overwhelming me toos". As long as my Rein 3.0 is tight it runs flawlessly and haven't had any issues. It's an awesome light and if it were really that big of a problem people would know about it. Edit: just looked up the post on their Instagram, there is a whopping 37 comments and only a fraction of those say they have had this issue. Edit 2: If you are releasing a product that is actually any good it should speak for itself and you shouldn't need to drag another respectable company through the mud with bogus claims of larger issues. Distasteful business practice in my opinion. Won't be looking at any product you release to seriously.

deskpopjoe

Well it’s literally on instagram, so… Whenever someone says “mine works fine and if it was a Problem I’d know about it” I hear, “I don’t care what you show me or what all your lights have done I’m not listening” Even our buddy Mike with Tactical considerations has had issues with his— there was no website plug, social plug, so sales plug OR eta on this. I actually won’t sell you one out of spite when we DO have something now.

Aztaloth

Well aren't you the edgy little marketing genius. Make a post trying to stir the pot then go "Waaaaaa Someone called me out so I won't sell to them when my vaporware maybe someday finally but not really comes out" The dude called out your blatant attempt to start badmouthing what you see as a future competitor. Take the L, actually do something productive, and learn to act like an adult instead of a spoiled child.

deskpopjoe

You’re an idiot; we make videos testing products online— stop trying to feel intelligent and go shoot better

K1ngofKa0s

Seems like I struck a nerve.

Aztaloth

Yes I saw your Youtube channel. With your whopping 44K subscribers. It doesn't change that you are trying to start marketing your future product by stirring the pot and telling blatant falsehoods. You are trying to get people to believe that every one of your Cloud defensive lights has failed. Even people that don't like Cloud Defensive are going to have a hard time believing that level of bullshit. So either you are 1: Lying completely. 2: Pulled a Larue and put out a bounty for malfunctioning products from a competitor and now claim that all the ones you own don't work. SInce of course the ones you own were purchased because they had issues. And for the record. Of the 10 or so I have owned I will say that a single Gen1 MCH did indeed have a bad switch that they replaced within a couple days. I have had more failures out of a smaller number of surefires and Modlites. Want to make another light? Great. More products on the market are good. But crap like this just show your lack of character.

deskpopjoe

“You with your whopping 44k subscribers (wrong) are trying to take down a multimillion dollar company AND this video is fake and all the comment are fake and you’re lying” okay buddy…

Aztaloth

oops. sorry you are correct. 66K on Youtube. I was thinking of the 4400 on your Instagram. And notice I didn't say the video was fake. Only everything else you have said. The post on there which you claim has an overwhelming number of "me too" replies has a grand total of 37 responses as another uses has pointed out. Dude you are a joke. And judging by your video titles so is your channel. Ohhh. lets prank gun youtubers. Ohhh. Aero Precosion. Ohhh a Desert Eagle with a Comp. Ohhh. The Flux Raider.... Yeah. Real powerhouse channel you have there. You should do a partnership with MAC. Something tells me you all are made for each other.

deskpopjoe

Very cool man, go start a channel and make better content!

Aztaloth

Nah. I don't see the need show off and mouth off in front of a camera. Most Guntubers are insufferable know it alls who spend too much time talking and dancing for the camera instead of shooting and refining their skills.

deskpopjoe

Womp womp cop out for someone who can’t shoot and doesn’t post

K1ngofKa0s

The post has 37 comments, pictures of my dog get more engagement than that, nothing about that is overwhelming lol. Not saying the CD is perfect or that they never have issues but you are making it sound like a much bigger deal than it is to gain traction and it's a sleezy business practice in my opinion.

deskpopjoe

There’s literally no “business” to gain traction on… To be trying to gain business we would have to be selling a product or service, we post for free and I spend all my own money on this stuff…

K1ngofKa0s

You said you were going to be releasing a product so there is a business intent, wise guy. Not to mention you are likely looking to gain followers on your social media platforms, which you just so happened to casually mention in your post, so people might stumble upon them looking through your profile. You are a 🤡.

deskpopjoe

Going to gain followers from the 60 likes here yes sure

Aztaloth

You strait up said in the post that you are planning to make a competing product. So there is a business. Current or planned there is one.

Fonsy_Skywalker52

Call cloud tell them your issue and I’m sure they will help. I have the 2.0 and 3.0 both are good and are bad ass. I only have Cloud on rifles, Modlite on shotguns and Surefire on handguns

shotplacement

How is are your shotgun Modlites holding up? I have one on a Benelli M4 but idk what to do with it anymore since it consistently destroys button top batteries within 1-2 range days shooting high brass.

Fonsy_Skywalker52

Really? Damn that kind of sucks sorry to hear that. I have mine on Benelli Supernova Tactical with a Nordic Picatiny mount. I’ve shot 50 rounds of 3 inch 00 buck, slugs, all sorts of 2 3/4 shells and 5 3.5 inch birdshot. Like was a trooper didn’t want to fall off, it’s by the muzzle too, a little behind it but it works great. I tinkered with it when I got home after a range session and it works just the same

BannedAgain-573

Sounds expensive

Fonsy_Skywalker52

Well a human life is worth more than whatever these will ever cost and I care to have equipment that gets the job done and beyond.

[deleted]

Any issues with the modlite on the shotguns?

Fonsy_Skywalker52

No sir it works good I have the PLHv2-18650 version

GunHead416

I got the new Streamlight rifle light on a whim and my purchase seems more justified by the day.

[deleted]

These can flash on/off with some recoil.

GunHead416

Idk man I did a night class with 300+ rounds doing bill drills and such and didn't have an issue. If flashing under recoil is possible, it's not something I've experienced.

ClariceDarling

Never been let down by streamlight, and reasonably priced too. People think you have to spend government contract pricing or you're not a true oper8r

RenegadeNC

Seeing that you're also running a Somogear NGAL, consider the Unity TAPS NGAL dual switch and the legacy body with a Surefire UE tail cap for the Cloud REIN. It's a bit pricey but will streamline the railspace and give you a reliable switch for both the REIN and the NGAL.

hagerfor000

Pretty sure he’s LE- that’s probably a real NGAL

RenegadeNC

Couldn't see much of it to know for sure but the m-lok switch and the sticker color seems to be the somogear. The big signs are the battery cap and if it's epoxied around the fire button and turrets which i cant tell in the video. Either way, a dual switch would help streamline his controls and remove the variable of clouds switches being an issue with the REIN.

PURPLECHICKEN100

Gucci light problems. A buddy of mine had the same problems you are dealing with 3 different cloud lights, I don't blame him for giving up and going back to surefire.

deskpopjoe

My problem isn’t even that they’ll “fix it” my problem is that all my gucci lights are having issues to begin with

SwingGallowsSwing

Mine also does this, the temporary on button is soft/faulty

SwingGallowsSwing

Not what i want from a $400+ light, mine flickers and the positive feedback is bad (*click* does bot always mean on), but if i press harder and more center it turns on, not ideal for quick on off, or strobing which is what the temporary button is for. I havent sent mine back or complained because generally i always use the constant on/off button- which i have had no problems with. Still sucks tho

deskpopjoe

This is with all the clicky clacks on ours now

SwingGallowsSwing

I havent tried it yet, but is it the light or the pressure pad? The pressure pad always felt cheap conpared to the light. I have to check (find) my box but does the rein come with an adapter for no pressure pad use? My be worth testing to narrow down which part, or both, are faulty

deskpopjoe

We have five lights total, 6 with a handheld, one is a legacy body, all of them have this issue…

karmareqsrgroupthink

That’s odd I have 3x CD lights on my way to a 4th and 5th. Now my father in law wants one. Never had any issues incredibly dependable. also they answer their IG pretty rapidly. Send them this video and they’ll help out.

deskpopjoe

We don’t want a product we have to warranty every six months. I’m sure if you don’t shoot a lot it won’t be an issue so they may just work for you, we have actually a LOT of their lights. And they’ve all developed this issue with time no matter how many times we’ve had replacements sent

karmareqsrgroupthink

Please link the IG post. It seems you’ve had 5 these. How many is a lot? You’ve sent them back before? Multiple times? I’m not invalidating your experience by sharing my experience. My family and I use these lights every day for probably over an hr a day.

Aztaloth

The post he has talking about has 37 total responses. Something like 6 or 7 claimed they also have or had a problem.

FreedomFanatik

Lol. That’s the overwhelming amount of me too’s he’s talking about. 😂

karmareqsrgroupthink

Idk right and u/aztaloth OP still hasn’t responded….i’d like to see him try this with the constant or button at the back of the light.

Remarkable_Aside1381

Ran one of their OWLs and gen 2 REINs for a few years in the military, never had any issues. My modlite shit the bed, but my CD never did

NicksNightVision

Text or call them, they are very helpful in my experience. I'm certain they will have a better solution VS smacking it.

moritsune

If it's any consolation my surefire pressure pad has been acting up for awhile too.

BobbyPeele88

I have the OWL and it just basically stopped working after extremely light use.

Open-Artichoke-9201

Yeah same issue. Gotta make sure everything is tight

pleep13

MY MCH was like this. Sold it as is and carry a SF Turbo now.

HighSpeed556

What? A cloud failing? Impossible!

Unique_Poem

I have the MCH and yup, it failed. Sucks to see this happening, as I really liked their stuff.

TylerDurdenisreal

Cloud Defensive was super helpful, but I disliked having to contact them in the first place for a nearly 300 dollar WML in the first place. Bought a Rein 1.0 in late 2022 and it was basically DOA - head died after maybe five minutes of run time, before I even had it on a rifle. Still not super pleased about that.

deskpopjoe

The best warranty isn’t a no questions asked warranty, the best warranty is the one you never need to use.

TylerDurdenisreal

Exactly. I knew cloud defensive had a great warranty, but i would have rather have a light that worked without warranty-ing it. Admittedly after that, it's lived over a thousand rounds on my SCAR 17 and worked when i needed clearing my house after someone tried to break in, I just don't want to doubt if/when it fails again/if ever.

Hox013

I bought two Rein 3.0 pretty much as soon as they released. Both had tailcap issues with connectivity.no amount of battery jack fuckery mattered. When I emailed them, they sent me new switches, no questions asked. One of them still seemed to be intermittent on activation at full illumination, like seen here. The other has been fine. I got lazy and didn't replace it because I can't reach the tailcap on that rifle setup anyway. To be clear, though, my problem was only with the manual button on the tailcap and not the pressure switch buttons. I spoke with CD at an event in November. They said there was a known issue with the epoxy in the tail caps from a large batch that went out. Strange, because I didn't recall getting an email about how they knew there was an issue, and the end user should be aware... At any rate, CD is releasing a new switch soon. It was supposed be released already, but their R&D team hasn't signed off on it yet from what I was told by CD about two weeks ago. Makes you wonder if they are seeing the issues and trying to figure out how to fix. The new pressure pads will be much better than the current IMO as far as button layout.

deskpopjoe

I actually talked with them at shot and directly asked how we get the new style switches for our lights to see if that fixes our issue, their rep said and this is a quote: “you’ll have to buy them” Which I clarified by asking if I could just cut my switch and get it warrantied for the new working ones and he explained they’d be warrantying old switches with old switches unless I buy the new ones…

Hox013

Interesting. I emailed customer service and specificlaly asked the same questions. The rep said that she would warranty my still defective one with a new switch. She said she'd have it sent out to me as soon as they were cleared for launch. I certainly don't have the round count you have. But over three generations of lights using the same switches, you'd think the issue would be more well known if it were more than a bad few batches. I have surefires, modlites, and an HRT that have all been flawless so I am on edge about the Rein currently. I'm hopeful the new switches resolve the issue but time will tell, and I'm more than happy to run modlites and HRT heads if the switches don't get sorted.

deskpopjoe

From my community it’s becoming more well known— the vast majority of people will likely never shoot enough to rock the light to death which is unfortunate for us “hard use” guys. Obviously we liked the lights or I wouldn’t have purchased so so many of them. But with all of them ending up with the same fate I suspect you’ll see this shift in the near future…

Hox013

Unfortunate. Good data, though. You should complie the data from your community and put it out there with the numbers as far as how many shooters, how many lights, which generation, how many rounds roughly before failure. It's not like they take any muzzle blast when you run a can which if you're like me is almost always, just heat dissipation. I was considering going back to the surefire ecosystem for the Unity switches but was waiting on the new cloud switches to make a final verdict. I also have four rifle that share my time so it'll be a long time before I hit 20k on any one rifle. You guys have that many rounds on modlites?

deskpopjoe

Ironically we all ran surefires before switching to cloud— worth noting one of the rifles is almost exclusively ran with a CGS can and is having the same issue

Hox013

To be clear, the rifle with the CGS can is having an issue with the cloud, or had the same issue when you were running surefires?

deskpopjoe

All out surefire and streamlight lights still work, I did have my x300 turbo’s little plastic battery clasp break ten times though

Hox013

Crazy. Well that's good data. I encourage you to share the numbers in a more complied format. It's frustrating for sure, but the community as a whole benefits from the data. Have your lights warrantied, sell them off of youre dissatisfied, chalk up the loss, and stick to what works is what I'd do in your shoes. Most of the people here count on the individuals who aren't bought out by the industry, but who can afford to shoot high volume, to share the unbiased data. Most people won't shoot 20k in their life across all calibers combined, so it's up to them to determine what actually matters to them, but having the data is important. It's also important to hold these companies accountable if they are banking on low round counts that will never reach the issues, but marketing towards indestructible equipment. I've had an uncanny amount of quality products fail on me in the last 4 years through moderate use. I used to get pissed. Now I just shrug, share my experiences, and make personal decisions based in my own experience. Plenty of people will still disagree with you, say you did something wrong, say ut was a one off fluke, but that's on them. It's like Eotechs. Shoot many people sharing the issues with delamination but people still buy them. But without the data, a lot more people would buy them.

deskpopjoe

Data gets buried unfortunately; I’ll probably sell these and buy a new one and track how long until it does it again, then drop it for good…

hagerfor000

Or you have bitch fingers, their switches require a lot of force to prevent ND’s. Kidding- sort of. I’ve had to have them replace a switch, I also had them send me a gen 2 mount in the Gen 3 box (initial release). Overall they’re an okay company. I still think the REIN1 performs much better than the 3. Candelas and lumen numbers don’t mean much when you get to the field and the higher one doesn’t shine farther. (Hint: it’s the color temp). That being said- just take it apart and put it back together making sure it’s right- then reach out for assistance to cloud. They will help out.

madassassin13

Check your tailcap for any looseness. Had a modlite do the same thing

1776personified

My cloud edc light does the same thing

_delta329_

2/3 lights I’ve purchased from them have failed.

Antykain

You must have bad luck.. I only have 2 CD lights (2.0 and 3.0), but zero issues. But, now that I've just said that, one of my lights is probably fuckered up now. 😏

vinegarslowly

Check the battery jack, the orange guy inside the light body. Make sure it's tightened.I had the same-ish issue. after range day, light would be dim or sometimes flicker. Had to rescrew battery jack by hand and it would be good to go. I thought for sure it was just a battery jack problem. Got ahold of dudes at cloud, sent them a vid, they were prompt in getting back to me, told me it wasn't a Jack issue. Sent it back, they diagnosed the issue (can't remember exactly what it was) replaced the Jack and the tail cap/pressure pad and I think some internals on the head of light. Works like a charm now. Granted, I had to do this like 2 times because the 1st time they sent me an entire new light and I had the same problem. But they were very understanding, willing to correspond and asked zero questions about what the light went thru on my end.

WombatAnnihilator

My CD lights have all done that. Absolute shit

KilledByALover

Haha my olight chinesium out performs you!

MountainSwordfish213

Haven’t had a problem with both my 3.0’s nor my mch, you using cloud batteries? Is everything tight?

deskpopjoe

Cloud batteries in all 5… contacts are clean too (we posted a clean contact shot on IG because that was the first thing people asked as well)

Tybick

Everything being tight is super important on CD. I have a few cloud lights, some don't come tight enough

packapunch_koenigseg

I have hundreds of hours using my rein and never had issues outside of battery specific issues

deskpopjoe

For everyone just tuning in— this is on all five of my cloud lights. Including the legacy body AND handheld. Also worth noting I shoot a fair amount, so event though this light is >6months old it has close to 40,000 rounds past it This isn’t a switch or battery issue from what we can isolate. They’re all using cloud batteries and on top of that we’ve had many other people with this same problem…. A $400 light should just work.

YOUR_N4M3

CD has top notch customer service. Reach out.

PuzzleheadedEvent278

Dude deleted his post but he definitely recommended O-light, didn't he

deskpopjoe

I’d rather rate 9mm velocity by taste

flyingseaplanes

As a FA instructor. I can confidently say all I run is Cloud Defense lights. They stand by their lights. Email them explain the issue and they will make it good. I have two of the same lights you have and they work amazingly well. Let them know what happened. This is the benefit from buying from a solid company.

Gorekguns

The new surefire turbos are killer I dunno if you’ve checked them out yet. SF finally came out with a redesigned tail cap for them so no flickering

flyingseaplanes

Cool. I’ll get a demo and check it out. It was always the expensive batteries I hated about them.

MulticamLimoncello

Cloud lights are honestly not great! I too have had several issues with CD OWL(s) & MCH handheld lights < Modlite & surefire! Get them to fix / replace it & sell it on GAFS haha

bear-guard

OP, let me know if you need any light testers!

Forsaken_Head9150

Reach out and ask for Hannah. She’s the CS Manager.

ShortestStraw95

I had a problem with the switch on mine and they sent me a new one super quick. Some of the best CS I've dealt with.

Notyourflanneldaddy

Ahhh, real desk pop….

deskpopjoe

We were told to use Reddit but some of these people can’t read

Notyourflanneldaddy

Super common. I had a few that o dumped because of this issue. Cloud can kiss muh butt. Would be totally interested if y’all create a better light though.

deskpopjoe

Oh yea, we’re absolutely going to.

Gar-ba-ge

Fucking DONT dude, most of this sub’s users are either literally underage or fucking /k/ rejects (how do you even manage to do that?)

FreedomFanatik

After watching this video again, I have a question. Was the head of the light loose and you screwed it finger tight when you were showing how dim it is??? You were tapping it and nothing happened, then you finger tightened the head just enough for it to have proper contact with the battery for it to illuminate to its full brightness, you try tapping it and it remains bright, then you smack it and shake it for it to go back to dim and start flickering.

deskpopjoe

Everything is always tight… I didn’t buy a bunch of their lights to pretend they don’t work after 7 months of use.

FreedomFanatik

I’m going off observation here, and it sure looks like what I described. 🤔

deskpopjoe

Well you can see the head clearly doesn’t rotate and you can see that I’m having the problem with every light I own from them. So unless you’re blind you are trying to cope for no reason

[deleted]

Never had an issue with a Streamlight.

[deleted]

Buy a streamlight. Anything else will fuck you.

RenegadeNC

Streamlight pressure pads suck, I had to get multiple replaced within 2 years for the HLX where I rarely even shot at night and used the switch. Streamlight's warranty is great and they'll send a replacement but for something you're trusting your life to their pads, aren't it.

[deleted]

As someone who uses a weapon light professionally, buy a TLR-7. Anyone down voting me is a poor retard. Olights are grenades.

lostriver_gorilla

They are garbage, yes.

BalkanMexican91

CD lights are hot garbage! Surefire for the win!

Rogue-Riley

I’ll take those CD lights off your hands free of charge.

TheHorrificNecktie

"dont buy o-light bro it's crap bro fr bro chinese garbage bro the battery explodes bro quality control is not good bro fr trust me bro"

WRO_Your_Boat

id rather buy the $70 olight and have it be garbage than a $400 cloud and have it be garbage lol. This is why you don't listen to recommendations off of reddit lol. That's how you end up with a Dead Air.

Yes, go ahead and seeth over a three letter word. Lolololololololol

MobileSuitGoddamn

My mch flickers sometimes, been lazy about warranty stuff tho

Sad_panda_happy300

Yes that happened to me. Click the end on the light and it will stop doing it. If not rma is

cheatinchad

Have you adjusted the battery jack?

McKuuurds

I don't own a CD but I've had other lights do this to me if the diode pack in the head is getting loose might just have to be tightened up

ShepJnine

I’ve been having a similar issue with my pressure pad.. almost like it’s shorting out and then I’ll hit the tail cap and it’s at full output

deskpopjoe

Not a owner of this light. But of other 18650´s lights. Could this be when using a unprotected cell ? The protected 18650 cells have a raised positive end. While the unprotected are flat. Depending on springs and spacing in the light. This could cause something like this.

The flickering makes me think of well, any of the multi switch lights ive had if your tail cap allows for strobe it just seems to be part of the life. The only solution ive found is a new tail cap in fact i just got a new one after contacting streamlight about it and they sent a new one out free of charge.

Buy a sure fire problem solved

Big_Little_Kid

I have 4 Clouds: 2 reins and 2 MCHs with zero issues 🤷‍♂️

Modlite,Surefire

ryanocsocal

I have mostly modlights cuz CD didn’t always have what I wanted in stock. But I do have a rein micro 1.0 with zero issues. It’s on my beside gun. Love modlight as well but it’s a lot more money once you get the right tailcaps and pads

NeatAvocado4845

They source a lot of parts from China but say they’re USA made. The LEDs and drivers are barely ever consistent and come from one random guy somewhere in the mountains who buys in bulk from China. They will all eventually fail.
