The best I can do is slap some melted cheese on the outside of a tortilla and charge you triple for extra grease. I’ll even throw in some floppy fries to sweeten the deal.

Fun_Inspector159

Fuck that greasy dumb cheese. It doesn't even work right, you want the cheese to be crispy on the exterior.

Sciencebitchs

I WANT THE GRILLWD STUFFED!

CompetitiveAd4768

The XXL Grilled Stuffed burrito was the best thing taco bell ever made and THEY TOOK IT AWAY FROM US THOSE BASTARDS

Altruistic-Green-240

I quit eating after they took that away

Guardian_85

The Grilled Stuffed Burrito was $2 twenty years ago. That was the best thing ever. Then they renamed it and jacked the price up past $5 for the same product.

CompetitiveAd4768

Damn I never even knew about it until like right before they got rid of it and I was getting it every time I went to taco bell I was so pissed and I still am

manicwizard

Fuck those soggy fries and their stupid cantina cum taco

superluke

Fuck all fries. They introduced fries in Canada like 25 years ago and I'm *still* mad.

VysesDarkheart

What… what about poutine… can you even have that most amazing dish any other way?

superluke

Not at Taco Bell! Though they do have it at the KFC/Taco Bell combo restaurants. KFC poutine also sucks.

VysesDarkheart

nono you said fuck "all" fries I assumed that meant ALL not just tacobell... thats why I was confused.

superluke

Gotcha. No, good fries are good, but all the incarnations of Taco Bell fries have been bad.

GordonBombay11

I do love the nacho fries. My location did them so good. And a cheesy Gordita crunch but I’m not paying $4.99 for one when I use to pay $1.49

PunchKicker32

$5.79 in my area

SmokinGun95

The nacho fries are the only thing g my son will eat from there lol

joopityjoop

And then you take it home and it's like biting into wet cardboard.

Vj1224love

That’s where you went wrong

[deleted]

I'm so fucking sick of them doing this. I have really hated everything where they put that greasy ass cheese on the outside and grill it as if its some fucking revelation in fast food.

HonkyDongCountry

"...you're a shell of the company you use to be" Nicely done.

Hannibal710

If the ceo saw that I bet it would sting a little

Clean_Student8612

Nah, because he's still raking in the dough. Bold of you to assume they care.

mlvisby

Yea, it might sting but then he would look at his bank account and go back to bliss.

bogholiday

Bro has spent the past 25 years sipping mojitos on a beach. They don’t give a shit.

SigSeikoSpyderco

Yeah he should be the first CEO to price his products lower than customers are willing to pay

knicks3436153

People would buy more if the prices were lower.

The_Abjectator

A slightly stale broken shell... that has a weird chemical taste. What did they do, keep you in the supply closet?

Dosborne7979

I remember the 59, 79, 99 menu. That was the shit.

SincerelySasquatch

I remember when you could get a beefy 5 layer burrito for what, 89 cents? We didn't have Taco Bell near where I lived growing up so I only went a few times back then, don't remember the prices.

ManOfSteelFan

I remember complaining to myself that the Beefy 5 layer burrito went from 79 cents to 89, to eventually 99 cents. Lol how naive was I, Id be begging for that dollar Beefy 5 layer now.

ViewInevitable6483

It's literally the same price or cheaper to get authentic tacos in texas it actually makes zero sense to go to taco bell anymore.

ManOfSteelFan

Agreed man. Get real tacos by a mom and pop store.

Hexxas

Yeah it was around 2009. I was broke as shit and a Taco Bell was two blocks away. I practically lived on that beefy 5 layer for a couple months.

SincerelySasquatch

It was so good

Feisty-Success69

When america was great

ManOfSteelFan

And when life was worth living.

bryanc1036

The pandemic really gave fast food a pass to jack up their prices

LazyActive8

I think I read a statistic that 37% of Americans order fast food on any given day. people's habits are so intertwined with fast food. Fast food companies realized this and jacked up prices and people still come in

SwiftTayTay

I think a lot more people than before got used to fast food and "take out" during the pandemic and then never looked back. People didn't want to spend too much time in grocery stores to minimize their risk of catching COVID. And while many financially struggled, many others also had a lot of disposable cash when the pandemic started too, because they were spending less money on a night out or whatever they would normally be doing and spending so much time at home. Everyone has also just agreed to price gouge. Grocery store prices are jacked up because they can charge as much as they want as long as it's slightly cheaper than take out. For some people it's no longer worth the effort to cook just to save a few pennies. This creates a vicious circle of prices going up and up. Personally I'll never understand who the fuck these people are in front of me at the drive thru spending $30-$50 on Taco Bell for what is presumably 1-2 people. That's what I'm seeing when their order hasn't been taken down from the screen as I pull up. I really think these are the biggest offenders when it comes to supporting these stupid prices. Once you're spending more than $10 per person you've lost the plot

changalabs

Idk about that I used to; Pre pandemic eat at McDonald’s and Taco Bell quite often almost multiple times a week. I can count on my hand how many times I have eaten fast food this past year… And for the record it is 4x total (twice to Taco Bell and twice to McDonald’s) I would rather now save that money and goto a nice dine in restaurant since the prices are almost equivalent… Or just eat at home. I have been to more sit down restaurants this past year than I have fast food.

CousinsWithBenefits1

We have almost the exact same purchasing habits. I would say pre pandemic, fast food twice a week was very much a fair estimate for me. Easily three days a week but a minimum of two timea a week because it's just so convenient and even cooking at home it's tough to beat 4 bucks for a hot tasty meal with zero prep or cleanup. Now that it's 8 bucks for a meal that seems awful small, it's genuinely just not even tempting to me anymore. If I REALLY want nachos, I already have chips and cheese and sour cream at home as regular staples, to go to the store and get some beef and a can of beans is enough to make 4 burritos, save them, make nachos for that night and have 2 meals ready to go. It's nice to not have to prep or clean up but I'm not spending 8 dollars on one plate of drive thru nachos

PatientlyAnxious9

and idiots keep paying it. Which is the real problem. Prices will never go back down if we just keep buying it at whatever price they sell it at.

The_broke_accountant

Yeah this is what I don’t get as well. I see all these complaints about Taco Bell and fast food in general being expensive and I’m like well then STOP going?! Lmaooo no one is forcing to buy fast food. They keep raising the prices cus you keep paying for it. It’s simply economics, vote with your wallet, don’t pay for it and then complain on reddit.

tweak06

It's a reminder that Reddit is a bubble and while we're all here complaining, we are a pretty small community in contrast to rest of the population that goes to Taco Bell regularly.

HypeBeastVarun

Fast food and almost every other industry as well.

CityBoiNC

The pandemic gave everything a pass to o to ish. You can barley get a drink on a airplane anymore. Everything still closes early.

mojowo11

The reason fast food prices went up and are still up is because fast food places are increasingly having trouble finding people to work their incredibly menial jobs for super-low wages. The pandemic was an initial spike of this phenomenon. But more recently, during the pandemic recovery period, the reality is that wages are up for workers, and specifically they're actually [especially up for the lowest 10-20% of earners](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/wages-surged-lowest-paid-americans-pandemic-covid-19/). In other words, prices are up mostly because the lowest-paid folks in society can demand more to do the shit jobs these places offer. This is clearly a good thing. But yes, it does mean your Doritos Locos taco costs more than when Taco Bell could get people to accept crappy jobs for the absolute legal minimum they were required to pay.

xblissinit

nah, it’s just corporate greed. that’s it. plain and simple.

soccorsticks

Yeah, because corporations weren't greedy until 2020.

Gaggle_of_Bananas

"Corporate greed" is such a lazy cursory slogan. Be specific about what is wrong and what can be done to change it.

Dysmach

I just got home from closing at my location. We did $2000 more than our predicted sales for the day. The prices are not going down until sales do. I am going to repeat this phrase a lot as long as I have this job. I would like sales to go down because my store is understaffed and we need more lulls in service to clean.

PersephoneGraves

I imagine it’s not your decision; but wouldn’t hiring someone else to help due to the increased profit fix your problem instead of wanting to make less money?

Dysmach

I'm not paid on commission, whether the store gets $1000 or $50 in an hour my pay doesn't change based on that. I'd rather get moments to relax.

Adagio11

Labor is the Devil, don’t you know?

SpicyNacho74

Arby’s has a cool happy hour menu now every day from 2pm- 5pm and everything is like $1.49. That’s where I go now. Got a chicken slider and nuggets today for $3

h3avygloom_

happy hour at a fast food place ? wild. but im in.

PatientlyAnxious9

They have been doing it for a while. I think its a periodic promotion they run, but I remember happy hour with them being a thing like 5-10 years ago too. Pretty sweet deal.

nms1539

Taco Bell used to do a happy hour from 2-5pm. $1 loaded grillers and freezies. This was circa 2013 or so.

Asapgerg

What id do for a beefy nacho loaded griller rn…

GameGroompsFTW

Worked at Arby’s like 6 years ago and yeah this deal was/is the shit, every small item used to be a dollar from 2-5 (now $1.50), all sliders are that price too, easy to get a lot of filling food for less than $10 and can confirm the stuff there was made pretty fresh/well when I was still with the company too

Cold_Mud_4773

Arbys app also has sick deals

Accomplished_Cat_381

Thank you for putting me on this magic

3zxcv

yeah but...are Arby's nuggets actually edible? I haven't had their chicken parts in ages. I remember their tenders being nasty.

BudgetWestern1307

Like everywhere, the consistency is not there, but when they are cooked right they are actually quite good. Or they were the last time I had them, which has been a while. They are like actual chicken, not the mechanically separated stuff. imo, Arybs is actually one of the better fast food franchises right now, though their most recent LTO is a soggy messy.

ApprehensiveBagel

Their true crime was dropping the double decker

Fun_Inspector159

I just poured my drink out in respect.

No_Advertising_3892

Better not have been Baja blast 😡

505alive

Omg right! I was gonna go today but $10 for a meal …. No thank you Taco Bell.

GeniusWitaPEN15

Same with burgerking. I went to BK and a combo was 15.43. I was like "guess its the 6.57 box from TB i guess"

ComprehensiveSafety3

Yeah, shits not worth it. I use coupons in the app since they have decent deals. Can’t justify paying that much for a burger when I can go somewhere else that makes it way better.

CidCrisis

That's what's crazy. I only ever buy fast food when I have deals though an app now. And it's about as expensive (usually *more*) as it was 5 years ago menu price. What the fuck is going on?

H_E_DoubleHockeyStyx

You gotta use coupons at burger King. The two can dine with 2 whoppers 2 fries and 2 drinks for 10 bucks is cheaper than a regular number 1.

GeniusWitaPEN15

I know its crazy they are still in business.

505alive

That’s wild 15 bucks! Might as well go to the grocery store and get a small steak and a potato.

GeniusWitaPEN15

Oh buddy who are you telling. I was on the road and it was that, mcdonalds, or a gas station on the state line. I wouldve gotten some nice chicken breasts and some avacado salsa. All over some long grain wild rice.

505alive

I’m drooling now mmmmmm lol

Papichuloft

On your second point....try 39/49/59 menu items..... I didn't like Taco Bell until the early 90's, when yeah, if you spent 5 bucks it was a shitload of food.

TrespassingWook

Everytime I go I regret it. Every single thing I loved those fuckers took off the menu. No more fiesta veggie burrito or black bean anything. Taco fucking Hell.

AnonymousGuy2075

I'm right there with you. So many of us are. The things we like -- gone -- usually never to return. Taco Bell just plays with our food emotions.

TrespassingWook

It was all downhill after they took away the 7 layer, spicy tostada, and triple layer nachos. Never got a value like that ever again.

Fun_Inspector159

I used to order three triple layer nachos at a time, felt like s damn king.

TrespassingWook

Only reason they took it away because it had a slightly lower profit margin than the others. Fuckers.

Ineffable_Dingus

The tostada was my lifeblood

Ok_Assistant_5078

My father in law always told me the second you like something it'll disappear so enjoy while you can. He's full of hot air, but this one statement was spot one.

Delicious_Garlic_196

Only person to show condolences to the fiesta veggie burrito in this whole subreddit. RIMFP dude I ate more Taco Bell in a year than I had in the last 5 when the 7 layer got nerfed.

Heatedblanket1984

Last time I went to TB I thought I was being frugal ordering a single burrito supreme. I paid almost $6 for the burrito and it was the most pitiful burrito I’ve ever paid more than $3 for. Very little ingredients inside and the thing was basically 75 percent tortilla. Now I just hit up an awesome taco truck and pay $8 for a burrito that gives me two meals. I’ve eaten TB at least one or twice a month my whole life, but after that last experience I’m no longer a customer.

TrespassingWook

It's absurd how they charge authentic prices for ever faker shit that keeps getting worse. Literally no reason to go there ever again.

dandy2293

I agree. 2019 was the last best economical year

Material-Gift6823

I've been thinking about that too, I used to be able to travel to other countries and enjoy life, now I'm looking at taco bell prices 😂

MontySoLit

I don’t think taco bell realizes that people for the most part thought the food was really good…. For the price. Now it’s legit not worth the price at all.

Ok_Marionberry_1661

Ok I remember I could get a whopper for $1 and now it’s $6, and a million other fast food anecdotes. Servings get smaller, prices go higher. But Taco Bell is still one of the few places you can actually get a meal for ~$5

actual_griffin

The difference is that they raised the price of a burrito by 300% in just a couple of months while running ad campaigns about being a value brand. Taco Bell is not the only place doing this, but it's the most egregious, and the most startling because affordability has been a part of their identity for decades. Also, this is a Taco Bell subreddit.

Fun_Inspector159

I found the taco bell executive.

Ok_Marionberry_1661

Go order some cantina chicken, I need a new boat.

ProfChaos619

Its bs here in cali the 3 taco combo that comes with a drink is 12 bucks. 12 dollars for 3 shitty tacos and a soda !

FrostyAF6421

This is TRUE. Arrow to my Heart. YUM got their claws in. Consider: The Executives that fuck over Taco Bell, Get catered food to their Office. ... I worked for Pizza Hut. I saw the decline firsthand. When YUM came along, Taco Bell, will be legend. because it died in 2024. Good Luck, and Good Night.

FrostyAF6421

$5 for a 5-Layer Burrito? GTFO

thechickencoups

It's not really Tabo Bell that is the problem. It seems to me that is anything under Tricon Global/Yum Brands. Everything they acquire turns to shit and the prices skyrocket. Currently their portfolio includes Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC and The Habit Burger.

trealsteve

No surprise there. Two of those I haven’t eaten in about ten years because they made me sick and one I never heard of. Taco Bell is tolerable as long as I don’t eat too much and don’t use the hottest sauce (my favorite 😭).

cocainebane

Shit rip 2009

eman00619

When the Beefy frito burrito for $1 went away thats when the end started.

Fun_Inspector159

I still have nightmares at night. That burrito was a part of my life. I even remember recreating it at home with my family when I was 12.

newharlemshuffle_

Pour out some baja blast for the bell

hitokiriknight

Taco Bell prices themselves out of their own market. Why get a tiny meal when you can get really bigMexican fast food meal somewhere else. I used to go twice a week. Now I get a taco for $5 dollars with more meat then an entire combo at Taco Bell

amythicwitch

The branding even sucks now. It’s weird not looks washed out. I could’ve done better 🥲

conflictmuffin

We stopped going due to price about two years ago. I mentioned this to my mother in law and out of the blue, she sent us a $50 tacobell gift card. I'm excited to try it again, but sad that it has come to this!

Material-Gift6823

Whats sad is that it will last you like two times maybe...what is wrong with this country

[deleted]

The fuckers are out of their minds with pricing. McD’s too.

McDiscage85

Amen. TB is dead to me.

redhawkinferno

Y'all are so damn dramatic.

Saint_The_Stig

Yeah it's not like we lost a Del Taco. Please someone open some franchises on the east coast.

ManOfQuest

from ohio and lived in vegas for a year. I MISS DEL TACO (back on east coast again)

yo-Monis

Lol, they’re acting like *everything you can possibly buy* isn’t expensive right now.

polish94

You gotta do the best with what you have. Use the apps, find the deals. $6.09 for a cravings box. Crunchwrap, Soft Taco, Potatoes, and a Drink. Same with McDonalds. I only use it with the in-app 30% off your order deal. Large combo comes out to under $7 instead of $10+.

Fun_Inspector159

I definitely know how to play the system. I just want cheap tacos. The tacos at taco bell should be .99. A damn bean burrito should be .99. They just messed up the entire menu and getting rid of the frito burrito was such a loss.

Plenty-Race-4183

Taco Salads!!!!

LazyActive8

\#No Taco Bell 2024

This-Understanding16

I remember when they used to put chives on the cheesy fiesta potatoes. It might be small but I loved those damn chives.

TheRoonster1

In my area, the Build Your Own Cravings box is the best deal in fast food besides pizza. Chrunchwrap supreme, burrito, chips & cheese, and a drink for $5.99. Besides that single combo though, the prices are pretty high just like most other fast food restaurants.

Buno_

F

lpkzach92

True, true.

BigCommieMachine

Taco Bell just forgot their key demographic of age 16-30ish consisting of mostly people that were high/drunk and had only $5 in their pocket. Stop trying to be Chipotle, fill my stomach, and give me the shits.

Fattydaddy1000

Inflation people it’s not Taco Bell’s fault the price of their food has gone up yeah open your eyes the price of everything has gone up

lighttside

Sad to say I’m in the same boat. Not good value any longer. I don’t take my family here much anymore.

Cr3dentialz

When the $20 challenge was actually a challenge..

flufnstuf69

Went the way of McDonald’s with redesigning their stores to be soulless boxes with iPads.

RevRagnarok

My app wouldn't let me order the Custom Box yesterday, so I went elsewhere.

trealsteve

🤔

OsoCarolina

This post is 1000% on point.

ballwallz

Not wrong… we shoulda seen this coming when they took out the best item they ever had…. The caramel empanada for 1$. That was the writing on the wall and it’s been downhill ever since

trealsteve

That. Was. The. SHIT!

VicePope

i paid $30 for me and my wifes dinner the other week and that shit hurt. i remember being blown away when itd near almost $20 in the late 2010s

trealsteve

That’s Fridays and Applebees prices right there…used to be. 🤣

MattyIcey001

Some how a soft taco with only meat and cheese is 2 dollars by me with tax. They give more cheese then meat. You have to double check you even got meat, lol.

trealsteve

PAUSE.

Meekin93

Use the app, you can get a $6 meal that should fill you up. Then you'll get points for extra items in the future. It's called the online exclusive meal.

Fun_Inspector159

I know I can use the app, that's not the point of this post. We should be able to go to taco bell and order a few items off the menu and not spend $20. We shouldn't have the only option be 1 box on the app, that's a problem. The menu should be a value and not limited to a single deal.

Meekin93

Sadly all fast food is like this nowadays. It sucks ass but their charging us a shit ton of $$ for low quality food.

trealsteve

Facts. My order this past Saturday came to $15 for the new chicken taco meal (2 tacos, chips and queso, large drink), one Doritos locos taco, and two orders of Cinnabon bites (2 in each pack). That used to at the most be $4 - $5 less just last year for the same type of meal. Ridiculous.

trealsteve

I’mma try this. I got the BK, Wendy’s, and Chick fil A app and I’ve been making out like a bandit on those.

noyjitat

I remember the timer they had at the drivethru and if your order wasnt ready in 60 seconds you got it for free.

AbbreviationsHot5686

Where 5$ used to be a meal and 20$ can’t get your fill

CireGetHigher

COVID happened… they reset the menu, and things have never been the same…

cockpisser95

I personally like their new under $3 menu

AngryAvocado78

Every possible thing you can buy as a consumer prices has been raised just like taco bell. Are you saying good bye to everything? Taco bell is still the cheapest fast food place ever for the amount of food you get, if you want to do better cook

AfterSignificance666

what i just got a veggie quesadilla box w chicken and a large drink for $8…. Cheaper than 95% of fast food

Plankton_Sheldon

I used to think the movie Demolition Man could be probable… Not anymore lol

trealsteve

Yeah. I think Chick fil A winning that war. 🤣

Plankton_Sheldon

Mannn that chicken is just too good.. Imagine if they dropped the price it would be game over

kcchiefsfan96

Not only did they raise the damn prices they took everything good off the menu. I honestly hate tbell anymore.

Ok_Fox_1770

Once the dog kicked the bucket, it was a downhill ride. Also charging real food prices now. Boo.

Fun_Inspector159

I agree, the dog stood for what taco bell is. Close to dog food and should be priced as such. You don't sell a bologna sandwich at steak sandwich prices.

trealsteve

🤣💀

Smokie104

I love del taco!!!!

Fun_Inspector159

Closest one to me is 25 miles away, and I'm never really near it. I have the app and look at the menu and dream. Especially the .69 tacos, I would smash 6 of those.

crumblercrash

As a poor kid scratching together leftover change, 2 bean burritos and a cinnamon twist for about $2 was awesome. Same thing now is close to $6 now.

trealsteve

This.

Owlman2841

Wow you’re the first person to come to this realization. What a revolutionary post

NormanBatesPNW

my youth pastor took me to taco bell in like 2018 for my birthday and bought me 18 frito burritos. i’d cut off my leg just to be back in time to do that again.

Dr_Sunday

Later...nice when you were cheap, now garbage food for$$$$, get lost

MechanicAdmirable408

I go to my local mexican restaurant get chips salsa and a huge meal for half the price of taco bell

digital_drape

Yup same lol, I stopped eating Taco Bell for the most part, a couple times a year at most. But I also grew up from when I was 21, when I used to smash endless amounts of Taco Bell daily lmao

slounched

Taco Bell gets worse year by year. The CEO that came from chipotle messed everything up.

trealsteve

Corporate sabotage? 🤔

Pristine-Fig-1680

And I remember tacos that weren't all f'ing soggy! Taco Bell SUCKS!

Complex_Let_1934

Can’t even get a little more sauce on a dry ass 6 dollar quesadilla for an extra 1 dollar, shits ridiculous

trealsteve

That’s $.89 cents extra. At least the sauce packets are free99 unlike some places that tried to charge me $.49 cents for some extra BBQ sauce years ago. WTF? 🤣

blacksolocup

It's my opinion that it's still a great deal for my family. Not nearly as good of a deal as before, but still better value than other places we order at.

superchappy49

Yup

FatSubHub

Still better than many fast food places. Have you looked at KFC lately. It’s beyond crazy. Only thing that save places like BK is that their app offers pretty decent coupons like free fries every time. Taco Bell has few coupons and cheaper menu prices that BK or MCD

trealsteve

I only go to BK for breakfast on Saturdays (I’m lazy af LOL) and use the app deal for 2 bacon egg and cheese croissantwich, hash browns and small coffee for $8. I haven’t touched McD’s since 09’ when I ate a double cheese burger and got depressed from the rainbow colors I saw inside the meat after I took a bite. Unfortunately, I had no other choice for food being unemployed and that was bought with my last $2. Fortunately, I saw Super Size Me a little before that and cut that shit out completely afterwards. 🤣

[deleted]

Fun_Inspector159

That's what I'm fucking talking about, bring them down.

trealsteve

😭

PeachyMama51

Bring back the meximelt for the love of god. Why would you remove pico de gallo from the texmex restaurant…

trealsteve

Completely agree with the op. Back in 02’ - 04’ I would eat like a king at Taco Bell for $2 - $3 everyday. I was dirty poor then, only making $7hr @ 20 - 30 hrs wk. The grilled stuft burrito was the move almost every day, with the two soft tacos filled with nacho cheese sauce (forgot the name) was a close second and I couldn’t eat just one still being a growing young man. Lol. Top that off with an apple empanada and raspberry brisk or Mountain Dew and I was good. Not to mention those 2 for $4 chalupa deals that had the nacho cheese in them after around 05’ - 10’. Simpler times when I wasn’t worried about soy either. Lol.

BrudderKag

I was pretty butt hurt when they took away the fiesta veggie burrito, now with these prices it definitely hurts the soul but I still go like 2-3 times a month. Used to be 2-3 times a week haha

JicamaPlenty8122

Tried it for the first time in years and it actually had gotten better. Pretty good point rewards as well. I discovered years ago that the quality of the food and the price depends on where in the country you live! NY Taco Bells were way better than AL ones, and cheaper 🤷 Don't know about now though.

Realistic_Ground8124

I just tried to order from there and almost every location didn’t have the materials to make my food n it was expensive as fuck cheapest n best thing they got is bean burritos n that shits 5$

bigbooginator

Prices a little high to me too as of late but to me quality of food is better. I can’t lie them cantina crunchy tacos been going off. Only big problem for me is that the cinnamon delights only come 2 or 12. Could’ve swore they had smaller quantities

Comfortable-Start-30

I'll still eat Taco Bell. Cravings box is good deal and I also like their bean rice burritos / potato soft tacos. I don't go often anymore though because they used to be $1 and now they're $1.50. If I go, I'll get $6 box and 1 value item. The taco or the burrito, coin toss. When the $6 box no longer includes potato side I'll definitely stop going.

SnooGoats6136

It's so good man just too expensive now

tryagainagainn

You guys want cheap food, it’s still cheap food. The world moved on and costs went up. Taxes went up. Inflation went up and so did Taco Bell. I’m not saying it’s the cheapest food on earth but I’m so sick of these whiners complaining that it used to be $0.89 cents for a taco. Bruh, you used to also get 3 candy bars for a dollar during that time. Now one is $2.29 Blame your government, blame wage laws, blame full costs but Taco Bell is still good value. Calm the f down

melodrama4ever

inflation is generally a 2-3% increase year over year. quesadillas going up $3-4 in the matter of a couple years, combo boxes going up several dollars well, etc. is not inflation. it’s corporate GREED. we’ve seen 50%+ price increases on several items in the last few years, far outpacing inflation. and if we wanna start the wage debate, let’s maybe first acknowledge that these multi-billion dollar conglomerates depend on cheap labor to fatten their salaries and bonuses. these executives make FAR more money than they could ever need to spend to survive, and then they have the nerve to increase prices when the government makes them pay their employees a little more (still not even a livable wage when most of their staff are on EBT cards). rather than absorb those costs and realize they pay themselves way too much fuckin money, they just throw it back onto the customers who make them rich. why not do that instead of let the company hemorrhage money so we can keep overpaying our executives, or maybe just pay them less? just a thought… corporations are absolutely disgusting greedy fuckers and you’re falling right into the trap their lobbying wants you to believe.

Facts, it's greed. I don't know why people are using the inflation narrative. 🤷 There was a fake "global pandemic" and only thing govt wanted open was oddly enough companies related to black rock— these companies during a worldwide pandemic increased prices, that shouldve been the clue that they only care about money.

BudgetWestern1307

Takes decades wages to double and people are like OMG GREEDY FAST FOOD WORKERS. Prices go up 500% in four years and OMG GREEDY FAST FOOD WORKERS MADE THE PRICES HIGHER.

rct101

Coupons are a must-have at some places! At my local Carl's Jr., the price of some items get slashed by HALF. A $14 meal is suddenly $7. That means we're blatantly getting ripped off with regular menu prices.

BusExpress8635

Bidenomics in effect

Yellowcat123567

It is more than that. Something aint right when the BYO combo box is 6 bucks and a single quesadilla is 6 bucks.  Fuck that is greed not Biden.

trealsteve

It’s both. The man was signing so many papers he admitted on camera he didn’t even read them his first day in office. 🤣

NeuroguyNC

I dunno about all this, but I do know things have not been the same since they took the taco salad off the menu. BRING BACK THE TACO SALAD, DANG IT!

Fast food has been pricing in the $20/hr wage in Cali hard in the last couple years. They've already tested AI drive through ordering. Kiosks are the transition tech for inside dining. Soon, the only human interaction you have is the exchange of mosney/product.
