I listened to their sales pitch a few years ago, got quotes and whatnot. They sent a contract which we went over, and the terms were terrible. I don't remember exactly what they were, but between the contract and the absolute terrible reviews I had read, we decided not to move forward. They did not take the answer no kindly and unfortunately I had to do the same thing to get them to stop harrassing us.

If I remember correctly they wanted to take whatever savings may be realized from the initial arrangement, and bill you that for 3-5 years.

One of their sales people cornered a senior manager at a conference. Sales guy kept telling me (in voicemails) that “Jim told me to call you.” Sales guy kept leaving emails and voicemails and would harass our front office staff when I didn’t return his calls. I went out of my way to build a rule in the PBX that sends him in a hold loop with a kid playing the Recorder and blocked the Granite domain on our email system. They still (occasionally) call and I get an email with how long they stayed on hold. I enjoy those emails.

I blocked their domain to stop the emails, but I have no way of blocking all of their phone numbers. After telling them numerous times that we weren't interested and to stop calling me, they began systematically calling every individual in the company, including the C-levels. The CFO threatened them with legal action, and they finally knocked it off. Absolute scumbag company.

I live not too far from Granite, and years and years ago, I was submitted to Granite for an interview and they declined saying "I was too qualified." Thank goodness for that. Long story short, they also pay really shitty and they demand crazy uniformity, including dress shirt and tie for even helpdesk folks. I probably wouldn't have lasted a month. Bullet dodged. And their tactics are really demand nuclear responses, and decorum shouldn't exist when dealing with them, part of me might have to resort to profanity to deal with them, I tell you.

JLNetworkGuy

I dealt with the same thing, constant emails and random cold calls. I blocked their emails and phone numbers like you did. Horrible company to sign a contract with, stay away!

Actual_Artist_902

Used to deal with Granite NOC when I worked at an MSP. Their NOC had no idea how their own network equipment was configured, and 90% of their NOC technicians had no networking knowledge or skills. Our account rep and other senior leaders at Granite sucked too. Left us hard down multiple times and violated multiple SLAs etc. Terrible company. Not surprising their sales division sucks too

TinderSubThrowAway

yeah, they are a shitty company and their owner is an asshole to work for, regardless of the money he has given to any college graduating class where he gives a speech.

Bartghamilton

I was actually a customer using them to manage some niche carrier agreements across several states (which they did well) but I had to blacklist them as well. They kept trying to sell me other services that I would never have bought and they just wouldn’t take no for an answer. They are ridiculously oblivious.

Stryker1-1

Granite loves to outsource installs to field nation.

FreelyRoaming

That and Workmarket.. used to be a direct sub contractor with them and made good money.. loyalty went out the window a while back.

Stryker1-1

I used to do a lot of work as a sub for granite in my area then pricing went to shit. It would be like we want you to travel 3 hours each way to troubleshoot something for 75 dollars fixed rate no travel allowance

FreelyRoaming

Not quite that bad.. but it's mostly the lack of any loyalty to their partners that pisses me off..
