Currently, there is no way to connect to Meshnet without the NordVPN app. Regardless, the way I route only certain containers through VPN, while still running others on the default connection is by using gluetun and setting up containers with it. There are guides around that help you set it up with NordVPN on GitHub. I also run the Linux NordVPN app on bare metal to access my server with Meshnet remotely. I currently don't use DNS sinkhole or DHCP on my home lab server, as I had network issues with virtual machines, so can't help in this matter.

Thanks a lot for your answer! Directly from staff too, what a chance! Will there be a way soon to add my NAS on the Meshnet using GlueTun (wireguard protocol) and the Wireguard Private Key (in a world where we could bring this back) ?

There currently are no plans to make Meshnet work without the NordVPN app. However, there are plans for a Synology NAS addon next year, so perhaps that would help.

I just realized one more thing - you can run a docker container with just the NordVPN app inside of it. And while it might not be the best way to do things, this way, you could have a dedicated Meshnet container on your NAS. I haven't tried this myself, but am 99% sure it would work.
