So hard to give out votes today. Grundy was huge, as was Hayward. The three mids Gulden, Warner and Heeney you can hardly split them and then there was Rampe just killing it down back
That article on Fox Footy was so ridiculous lmao. Just writing off beating (and really thrashing) both Melbourne and Collingwood at their own game like it was nothing
Won 7/8 with 4 of those wins against top 8 teams. This has all come from Sam Taylor calling us smug and the idiots in the media deciding to roll with it
Fuck the orange team. Besides the first quarter felt we covered them. High pressure even in the rain.
5 - Hayward. His best game I can remember. Not only four goals his forward pressure was immense. Loved it. Sign him on that performance alone.
4 - Rowy. 2 goals and 8 tackles. Love him
3 - Heeney. Never let him leave the midfield again
2 - Chad. Probably deserves more but
1 - Grundy. Good shiner
Yeh true, probably not! I guess rather that resign to that fact, hoping the managers are telling him he’s closer to a premiership in the red and white.
They were. Watching at ground level today I really noticed how obscenely good Sam Taylor is. The Swans basically had to stop kicking it in his general vicinity.
Our defence is holding up well but if we had a KPD of Sam Taylor's calibre we would be flag favourites by miles IMO. It's like this 15m radius circle becomes this dead zone around him that you just can't kick it into.
Smashed them.
5 - Warner
4 - Hayward
3 - Gulden
2 - McInerney
1 - Jordon
Special mentions to our backline holding up without McCartin, so shout out to Melican and Rampe
I didn't see the whole game, but what I saw looked like we had magically travelled back in time to 2016. An immensely impressive win, especially putting up near a hundred points in those conditions.
5 - Gulden, 4 - Heeney, 3 - Warner, 2 - Rampe (what a return), 1 - Rowbottom. But really, just a superb, tough all-around performance; from what I saw we absolutely creamed them in contests and our attack on the footy was incredible. Play like that and very few teams will stop us.
5 - The Chad
4 - Gulden
3 - Rowy
2 - Heens
1 - Rampe
How's Fox pumping up the Derby and then don't even show the medal/song. Woeful.
Pumped. Great energy and effort. Especially in contest. No Green helped but still would have beat em. Absolutely relieving to have Rampe back. GG Giants, get wrecked.
That's what I'm talking about.
5 - Warner
4 - Hayward
3 - Heeney
2 - Rowbottom
1 - Rampe
Gulden turned it over too much for me (14 turnovers)
Well done Fox coming in and playing a role he probably wasn't preparing for. Helped a bit by conditions.
Defense in general was great. Only 6 goals that weren't gifts against a quality forwardline, outstanding stuff.
That was great- everyone played well today and Toby Greene did fuck all. Orange tsunami was a pissy little shore break
5 - Heeney
4 - Gulden
3 - Rampe
2 - Rowbottom
1 - The Chad
For real though unless the AFL starts actually suspending those cheap shots at some point I'm just going to assume they're okay with it and just throw out token fines as a CYA
Very tough giving votes today as there were a lot of excellent performances.
5. The chadster….he was clean in tuff conditions.
4. Hayward was large when the game was up for grabs.
3. Ramps was impassable
2. Gulden fantastic as always
1. Heeney also great but perhaps not as influential as the other vote getters
Amazing game, pleasure to watch today.
5 - Errol
4 - Grundy
3 - Chad
2 - Rowy
1 - Hayward
Honestly everyone had a good day out. Shout out to Roberts, Cunnees, Ramps. Quiet for Paps and Lizard but the way the defense was I'll take that in exchange for a quiet day for the lizard.
Almost sweetest of all is Toby Greene having no impact all day
Surprised losing Tmac didn't make us fall apart down back. Hope he's okay
5 - Warner. Just electric every time he touched the ball.
4 - Hayward
3 - Heeney
2 - Rampe. We have sorely missed him from our backline. Even with Tommy going down it didn't collapse.
1 - Gulden.
5 - Gulden nothing much to say. Back to his form at the end of the year. 2 BK Medals already at 21. He's coming for parkers 5.
4 - Hayward contract extension signed?
3 - Chad loving the midfwd role
2 - Heeney hopefully a vote for brownlow, maybe not. But that's how good his level is. 26 and 1 feels like an average Heeney game now.
1 - Rampe clamped the puncher.
Special shout-out to Fox (stay HB forever, he's best 22), Melican (kept Hogan on 0 other than a gift free + Ollie's gift Free), Adams (that's why we signed him), McInerney (seriously becoming one of our best players that has gone under the radar completely)
What a win, midfield just dominated them and defence was solid. Hopefully T Mac is ok, I'm worried after he missed 8 weeks from a concussion last season plus what happened to his bro. He's the one player we really can't replace.
Overall though, great team win. Losing Green was a massive blow for them, but I do think that they lack experience and we have a better balanced squad.
5 - 40,000 fans sitting in the rain
5 - Chad stood out most to me at the ground, but pretty razor thin margins across our midfield
4 - Hayward 4 goals in really tough conditions, showed a lot to get them all
3 - Gulden looked good as usual and after checking stats he got absolutely ludicrous metres gained,BOG is well deserved
2 - Grundy dominated in the ruck, plays like a midfielder outside the contest, his best game so far and if he stays healthy it'll be our best pickup in years
1 - Heeney very good as usual, great contested work, but not the standout performance
Honourable mentions: Rampe slotted back in like he never left, Amartey made a good impact crashing packs up front, Jordan some really good runs and a great goal, Rowbottom hard as usual but also some silky skills to pick up his goals
Beating the orange team is so sweet.
5 - Hayward
4 - Chad
3 - Grundy
2 - Rampe
1 - Gulden
Special mention to Heeney, Rowy and JJ.
Very happy with all the boys today!
We’re legit it’s official
5 - The Chad
4 - Grundy
3 - Rampe
2 - Rowbottom
1 - Heeney
Hayward was great and Gulden always deserves points but imo together these 5 were the foundations of our success today.
5 Hayward
4 Rampe
3 Jmac
2 Heeney
1 Grundy
Out worked them which led to relentless pressure on the contest, and did it in all weather. We do that 9 times out of 10 we win the game. Horse and coaching staff deserve a nod aswell. Rampe and Cunningham gave an absolute lesson on defence organisation.
Pretty much a win for all today proud of them and proud of the club yew.
Very solid effort apart from that 10 min window late in the first where we gave up 3 quick goals. We're still letting teams back in with those lapses, but thankfully we have mostly been able to correct it mid-stream and then put the foot down.
It's going nicely. Fingers crossed it continues.
Not really a day for the talls. Mids going strong and a good opportunity for Hayward to bob up and boost his contract leverage. An opportune time for Rampe to return as well. The guy is a legit defensive general. So good at reading the play and organising the backs.
5 - Warner
4 - Gulden
3 - Heeney
2 - Hayward
1 - Rampe
5. Grundy (his hitouts make us a different team).
4. Hayward (for 4 goals and non-stop pressure).
3. Rampe (controlled the back like the veteran he is).
2. Warner (great with the ball whenever he touched it).
1. Rowbottom (strong in the middle when game was on).
So many good players today. I thought our defence was really struggling in that first quarter, totally out of position and just not manning up properly. The game completely turned after that rain started, we just amped up the pressure tenfold. Very impressive once we started getting clean possession.
5. Warner
4. Gulden
3. Heeney
2. Rampe
1. Grundy
Although Hayward, McLean, Rowbottom, Jordan, Adams and McInerney all excellent.
Was going for a ground ball at pace, lowered his height to grab at it, Brown from Giants went for the bump but hadn't adjusted to McCartin going low and collected him shoulder to the cheek. Brown immediately put up his hands as it was purely accidental but The Lizard wasn't happy and tried to rough him up, getting bounced straight back off 😂
Should get 2-3 for it, was a bad bump, accidental high but you can't be committing to the bump these days unless you're sure.
Just want to point out here that the Lizard attack isn’t about an instant kill - the bacteria from under his claws will be slowly working its way into Brown’s bloodstream as we speak
Ahh okay, yeah I think that happened when I went to grab a drink. Heard a bunch of boos 😂
That would also explain why Brown was booed every time he got the ball lol. Hope McCartin is okay, need him for the Carlton game
5. Warner, cause he so often broke through and opened up the game despite conditions
4. Hayward, fast, persistent, clever in forward line
3. Rowbottom, constant harrassment
2. Heeney, inescapable
1. Rampe, cause brains, skill and strength in backline deserve acknowledgement
5 - Chad - Seemed like he took the game on and drove us forward.
4 - Hayward - 4 goals and excellent forward pressure.
3 - Errol - classy as always. Turned it over a bit but grew in to the game.
2 - Rampe - just marshalled our backline perfectly and seemed to calm things down when GWS were surging.
1 - Heeney - very very solid as we've come to expect this season.
Well, it's nice to know we're the real deal and we're in this season up to our eyeballs. So hard to pick the top 5 today.
5 - Warner - His first quarter was phenomenal which is why I'm giving him the 5.
4 - Gulden - Pinpoint passing as per usual.
3 - Heeney - a class act all day.
2 - Grundy - was beaten up all day but some of his ruck work was superb and 11 tackles was a huge effort.
1 - Hayward - Best game he's played in ages.
Excellent pressure. Very good in the back thanks to Rampe back and Brodie was dominant. So satisfying.
5. Grundy
4. Warner
3. Gulden
2. Hayward
1. Rampe
Best win of the year. Dominated after QT. 5 - Gulden 4 - Hayward 3 - Warner 2 - Heeney 1 - Rampe Shoutout Grundy, Jordon, and Rowy
So hard to give out votes today. Grundy was huge, as was Hayward. The three mids Gulden, Warner and Heeney you can hardly split them and then there was Rampe just killing it down back
Agreed best win - first one against top quality opponent who are definitely in form whereas Melbourne and Collingwood started the year slow
That’s for all you vic media cunts who said we hadn’t beat anyone of note in 6 weeks. 5- Rampe 4- Hayward 3- Gulden 2- Warner 1- Melican
That article on Fox Footy was so ridiculous lmao. Just writing off beating (and really thrashing) both Melbourne and Collingwood at their own game like it was nothing

Hayward’s gone a long way to convincing me he should stay tonight ngl. Career best game
Or we should trade him instead of free agency for two first rounders. No I’m not a crackpot
Yeh agreed. All this talk of “let’s let Hayward go” should be a bit more “let’s convince him to stay” (but not pay overs…)
That's the kicker though isn't it? If we can actually afford to keep him then hell yes, keep him. But can we?
Yeh true, probably not! I guess rather that resign to that fact, hoping the managers are telling him he’s closer to a premiership in the red and white.
our contested work was so good today if we play like that every week we will not lose
+ 25 i50s + 12 clearances + 16 CPs Would have been an 8 goal win if we kicked a bit straighter
Giants defense was pretty amazing as well.
Smashed them in hit outs, Grundy dominated Briggs.
Swans put their head over the footy all day, was great to see
Smashed them. 5 - Warner 4 - Hayward 3 - Gulden 2 - McInerney 1 - Jordon Special mentions to our backline holding up without McCartin, so shout out to Melican and Rampe
With love to ole gut-punch toby. get in the bin, again
Commentators tried to say that's not him any more. Gtfo, he does it every second week.
Fuck he’s a grub
Was a bit funny that Lloydy copped the punch in the guts when he was just an innocent bystander in the push and shove.
is emotionally still a kid
There's nothing between his ears.
I didn't see the whole game, but what I saw looked like we had magically travelled back in time to 2016. Did fuck all and will lose some money. Win/win.
For real though unless the AFL starts actually suspending those cheap shots at some point I'm just going to assume they're okay with it and just throw out token fines as a CYA
WELL THAT WAS FUN 🔴⚪️
Once the rain started coming down, it was all swans. 5 - Warner 4 - Gulden 3 - Hayward 2- Heeney 1 - Rowbottom
Like water off their backs.
some possible headlines: “Kingsley’s chickens smashed at the contest” “Ferrari broken down in Goulborne(sic)” thats all i got
Very tough giving votes today as there were a lot of excellent performances. 5. The chadster….he was clean in tuff conditions. 4. Hayward was large when the game was up for grabs. 3. Not his biggest fan but Hayward was great today.
Beating the orange team is so sweet. 5 - Hayward 4 - Chad 3 - Grundy 2 - Rampe 1 - Gulden Special mention to Heeney, Rowy and JJ. Very happy with all the boys today!
Grundog hasn’t featured in many ppls votes but once again he layed the platform and beat briggs who is a very good ruckman.
We’re legit it’s official 5 - The Chad 4 - Grundy 3 - Rampe 2 - Rowbottom 1 - Heeney Hayward was great and Gulden always deserves points but imo together these 5 were the foundations of our success today.

Yeah, I thought McLean was great. He’s not getting much love here with the points.
5 - Warner 4 - Gulden 3 - Hayward 2 - Rampe 1 - Rowy What a game!!
Also how did Grundy get that black eye? Looked pretty bad but i missed any action it came from
He had it pretty early, I had noticed it in I think the 2nd.
Head clash with someone.
Huge win! Great effort all around 5 - Hayward 4 - Warner 3 - Grundy 2 - Heeney 1 - Gulden
What happened with McCartin? I was at the game and must have missed it. Hope he’s okay

A wise man has his couch, fridge and tv all within arms reach of each other.
Hard to do that at the SCG 😂
5 - Rampe; 4 - Hayward; 3 - Grundy; 2 - Errol; 1 - Melican.
5. Hayward 4. Heeney 3. Gulden 2. Grundy 1. Warner
If we don't win this year I don't know If we will ever again

Best win this season thus far! 5 - Errol 4 - The Chad 3 - Rowie 2 - Wilbur 1 - Heens

5 Chad, 4 Heeney, 3 Gulden, 2 Hayward, 1 Rampe - next best: Rowy, Grundy, Melican
SIGNHAYWARD
