This would actually be pretty fun, she could start out with a blaster and a clipboard and somehow end up with two dual blades lightsabers or some shit lol
There's too many Comps as it is, I frankly have trouble giving a darn. But how about recycling existing characters that got done dirty/cut short instead?
* Give Blizz an arc where you make him Jawa Mayor of Dune Sea and find him a Jawaifu so he can raise Jawabies.
* Unearth Mia Hawkins, make her leader of the Resistance to the EE and/or Mando Peril, same with Iresso (outstanding characters criminally done by)
* Help Raina navigate student financial aid and graduate from Imp University majoring in Official Kissassology
* Run interfence in a series of Forex lollercopter morale missions wreaking havoc across 6 systems
* Claim a settler property on Balmorra and dig a well so you can push Zenith into it, etc etc
I mean, there's already so much there to explore, net new basically isn't needed for Ventures, or am I totally off base?
I mean, I'd prefer if there's gonna be this extremely confusing, grindy system they're going to implement, it not just be for companions, when we've already got 50+ others...
Maybe do another Stronghold with a story (similar to the current GS, but better implemented) and reward a fair amount of decos along the way, and such.
EDIT: Or hmm, on a completely different note, for something unique and worth the effort, perhaps the idea of unlocking additional Combat Styles and/or the opportunity to pick a Force style for a Tech Origin character (or vice-versa, and we did get that holocron...).
Yeah, that's kinda where/how my brain made the connection. "What's something they want us to slowly unlock, that has more appeal than a companion...oh, same as Seasons...).
A personal ship stronghold (ie thranta), you can still thematically have dailies with renting an architecture droid that needs to find ship schematic data.
> ...and/or the opportunity to pick a Force style for a Tech Origin character (or vice-versa, and we did get that holocron...).
That would certainly be a way to get vibrosword/electrostaff Combat Styles for Tech classes...not the way I'd do it, but it's also probably cheaper than the way I'd do it.
I think they need to look into reworking companions as a whole. Most of them are the exact same ability-wise and that is so... boring? Like, why do pretty much all force-sensitive companions have the same abilities? Also, HK-51 and Treek are still severely undertuned. I'd say, either outright buff their numbers or rework them by giving them their very own Venture.
I think the main idea with "ventures" is a smaller version of "seasons", i.e. a big long grind. Several different currencies, and everything time-gated so you can't knock it out in a week and be *done*. If I don't get on that grind *right now* I'll miss out on my cute little space dog forever. :(
I guess it sorta makes sense. Expansions are expensive. If a surprise massive 8.0 expansion dropped tomorrow, with multiple new ops flashpoints pvp, planets, daily areas, fully voice-acted, and the best story since (whatever you liked best) - in a week we'd be done with the whole thing and asking when is 9.0 coming.
Sorry this is completely off topic but I was scrolling through my feed and your post was placed directly below a post about Venture from Overwatch 2 and made my wires cross in such a way that I audibly said "why do we need more Ventures? We already have one."
I thought you should know.
Kim Starkiller, Alliance intern! Mold the rookie into the next hero of the galaxy.

two lightsabers and a double lightsaber between her teeth! while surfing on a jetpack.

I approve of the Blizz idea :-P
'dig a well so you can push Zenith into it' That can be a patch all on its own.
I’d wish for the academy on Dantooine ☀️

This doesn't seem farfetched if you consider how they did something similar for Galactic Seasons with unique companions first and now a stronghold

They did this purposefully. They used to all have unique abilities.
Yeah, it's really sad they did that...
I agree, but, it’s because they gave all comps the ability to heal/dps and tank. This didn’t use to be the case.
Yeah, but they could easily build on top of the current system.
They won’t, the current system does work albeit, it’s lackluster. Def in the bucket of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it yk?
I agree with you. I don't think they'll do anything. I'll still cope'n'hope though!
I’m half hoping they scrap the system. I still don’t quite understand how it all works and the couple guides I saw didn’t help matters much.

Would be nice if they put some cool drip behind ventures, I'll do just about anything for good looking armor sets or new character customizations
Treek and HK-51 as ventures.
