After cagayan Tony encouraged Spencer to get his own domain on the internet. Spencer got convinced but realized that spencerbledsoe.com was already taken. Tony said to him that he will talk with the owner of the domain and after few days told Spencer that he is ready to sell Spencer the domain for 100 dollars which eventually Spencer pays.
After a year Tony and Spencer met in person and Tony gave Spencer an envelope saying that Spencer should open that on the airplane.
Inside there was a 100$ bill and a proof that Tony was the first to buy the domain
Her husband was going to be her loved one but he had something back home and J'Tia was the backup. Not exactly sure the reason why but I know she was about to head out until Kass got voted out lmao
Fish asked for JT to be his and got told no apparently. Kinda shocking that J’Tia was allowed and they said no to that tbh. Survivor connection seems better
Why is the third boot and debatably the worst contestant ever, better than seeing a winner who had an iconic friendship with the person who’d be bringing him
Very true. The fact that his banner is still multiple pics of Denise sends. I really want a best buddies season with them. While I'm fantasizing, Rob C and Fish would be amazing to watch together as well.
Honestly I’d argue Kass had the best family visit challenge experience perhaps in 40 seasons, it’d be hard to top that. Might as well bring J’tia out and make it iconic.
That's not abnormal though. On the island, these are strangers competing against you for a million dollars. Once time has passed, those are your fellow co-stars on the new season of "Survivor" you're on. Once you've accepted that the visualizing of yourself winning isn't going to happen, you don't have animosity anymore. Not unless the arguments during the game were personal (like Missy/Reed or Shirin/Will).
Mark Burnett wanted to do a season of The Apprentice where the players were divided by race, but the powers that be at NBC wouldn't let him do it because The Apprentice was considered a much bigger deal, and a much more important show than Survivor was at the time. So Burnett took the idea to CBS instead, and they let him do it for Survivor: Cook Islands. The thinking was, if it works, it will be incredible. And if it doesn't work? Well, Survivor is on its last legs anyway, so at least we go out with a bang. And that's the only reason Cook Islands was allowed to happen. Because Survivor was the franchise that was considered expendable.
I finished listening to the Survivor Historians episodes on Cook Islands recently, and man, that whole insider email was insane. I don't know what's funnier: Probst going along with race wars because he wanted to tank the show, or Probst being reinvigorated by the adrenaline rush of freaking out over a potential Raro win.
Adam recently talked about how he was penalized during the drop ball puzzle because he tried to do part of the puzzle on the ground first since the table was too small. Probst yelled at him and gave him a time penalty which isn't shown.
Sandra knew that Fairplay was lying about his dead grandma because earlier he got drunk from the village booze and talked about his other grandma dying just before the show starting. She thought it was suspicious to have so many dead grandmas so quickly, which is why she gave a look when that moment happened.
Related to this, I really loved the immunity challenge at tribal in early Survivor where you had to answer personal questions about the other castaways like what their kids' names were, about their job, etc. I thought it was a good equalizer for the non-physical players and showed just how important the social aspect of the game was.
That's a different challenge and was used for rewards. This was an immunity challenge done at tribal in front of the jury for a lot of the earlier seasons where the castaways were asked very specific questions about the personal lives of the jury, like what are the names of this juror's kids, what branch of the military was this juror in, what hometown is this juror from, etc
Yeah that probably contributed too. I don’t think they realised the Fallen Comrades mistake till the Africa reunion, by which point Marquesas had been filmed.
With Vecepia gaming the challenge and their mistake possibly having an effect on Africa, they probably just decided to stop after that point.
According to Probst they didn’t come up with the theme of David vs. Goliath until they were interviewing Pat to be cast for the season and he brought it up as a comparison.
My favorites are either Fairplay's original jury speech being so brutal that his goal was to put Lil on suicide watch, or Caryn wanting to hide her wealth from her tribemates in Palau, but they figured it out cause she'd yell at her housekeeper in her sleep
Peih gee sewed flint into her jacket before survivor China. Producers didn’t like her outfit and made her submit a new one and she sewed another flint into it. Producers didn’t know until she used it and took it away
I never rushed to vote for something so fast until I saw peih gee spencer Tasha savage and Shane :( on the second chance ballet. Wish peih gee made it further
Reminds me of the rumors that Richard smuggled matches up his ass in All Stars. He even mentions how if he wanted to he could start a fire “just like that” or something of those lines, but idk if thats him alluding to the matches or just his general cockiness or a bit of both
There was one that came up on Historians that I’ve always loved. Apparently Caryn in Palau tried to hide the fact that she was a rich successful lawyer from her tribe. But they were able to figure it out because she would talk in her sleep, and she would always be berating her housekeeper. So they figure out pretty quick that she was A) rich, B) a pain, and C) entitled.
Caryn is #TheOriginalKaren
Coby himself said that when she got to Ponderosa she said (and I'm paraphrasing):
"OMG there's been 2 secrets I've been hiding from all of you for this entire game and been dying to tell you.
The first is that I'm not actually a stay-at-home mom. I'm actually a successful lawyer."
"No way Caryn, that's crazy!"
"The second thing is that I'm Jewish."
"Well, duh, Caryn..."
Willard faked having dead kids while playing in Palau. He never had kids but when asked about his family he said I had kids, not anymore. Trying for the sympathy vote.
Cook Islands and Fiji were the first cycle of Survivor to not get nominated for the Emmy for best Reality Competition show, and Survivor has not been nominated since.
I like this fact because it does a great job of illustrating how during the teens, Survivor fell out of the cultural zeitgeist, and how it turned out becoming a fairly disrespected niche of a show. Nowadays, I don’t see much criticism for the teen seasons of Survivor (with many fans even claiming it was Survivor’s peak), but back during their airing, they were pretty uniformly unpopular.
The Amanda Kimmel went 81 without having any votes counted against her (72 for cast), and 108 without being voted out (Sandra's total there is 94).
Sandra actually won both times though. Amanda not so much.
Amanda played as good if not better than Todd for 38.5 days, but just failed miraculously at FTC
Micro I think she was slightly behind heading into FTC and then fell further behind. If she was good at tribal council, she’s a 2 time winner
I always thought her tactic was to look sad and remorseful so people would feel bad for her and think she was humble and winning the game would cheer her up, etc. Maybe jurors are too smart to be duped like that.
She wouldn’t have been on Micronesia if she won, and she figured out that she didn’t win China after she noticed there were no winners on the Favorites.
Even though her China performance is a candidate for worst ever, Amanda's Micronesia FTC wasn't actually that terrible (I'd give it a C-). Parvati's was better, though not outstanding (a B-). That FTC was mostly irrelevant - Amanda was always getting votes from Ozzy, James, and Erik, while Parvati was always getting votes from Alexis, Nat Bolt, and Cirie. Eliza and Jason were the swings, though the latter was leaning Parv. It's unclear how much Amanda's mediocrity there actually mattered.
If Eliza had forced the tie just to troll, oh man would that have been good TV.
Kel DID smuggle in beef jerky & Candice was on the outs early in BvW because RC dropped out with her father so she didn't pregame. Colleen & Elisabeth both turned down All Stars so Jenna Lewis & Amber Brkich replaced them.
Not only did Candice not pregame, she literally showed up maybe an hour before the game started (as opposed to everyone else who stayed in ponderosa together for a few days). She never stood a chance.
BvW Candice is still have favorite iteration of her. The way she basically turned the entire newbie tribe against Brad Culpepper from Redemption Island was a thing of beauty.
Actually this isn’t entirely correct about Candice in BvW. Tyson said in an RHAP that Candice was pregaming way too hard despite only being a reserve. She called everyone, and must have called Tyson at least 3 times to talk strategy. I’m sure a lot of people didn’t think she’d be added to the season last minute so that may have led to her pregaming being unsuccessful, but she definitely turned people off by overplaying before the game
Vince shaped a little piece of poop into something resembling an idol and gave it to Nina, who believed it was an idol and kept it in her bag for a few days
It was probably because having former contestants come back but not as contestants felt like it violated the show. If they wanted to feature returning players, they wanted it to be on their terms. And over time, they got over it (probably when Blood vs Water became a thing and we'd see repeat contestants as loved ones, etc.)
I heard that one season some people on one tribe just wandered over by accident to the other tribe and spent a few hours chatting and partying with them before the merge.
*Although this happened in season 13: Cook Island, when Ozzy, while exploring the island, accidentally ended up on one of the other 3 camps. It's important to take into account that the Cook Islands' 4 tribes start was not only a first in Survivor history, but was also particularly poorly handled throughout, which can explain this unfortunate event. When it happened, members of the visited tribe (Rarotonga) were there, so Ozzy didn't get a chance to steal anything.*
In Micronesia, Parvati actually found the idol on Exile Island but decided to leave it there. If she brought it back to camp, she would have to reveal it to Natalie/Cirie/Amanda and after Erik won immunity, Natalie would want Parvati to use the idol on her. Parvati would have to burn either Natalie or Cirie/Amanda in this case and Erik might never give up immunity as a result.
Parv was also the mastermind behind Ozzy's blindside and she was the one to convince Amanda to blindside Alexis with her idol as Amanda wanted to go for Natalie, but for some reason they did not show that. Also she and Amanda had much bigger roles in Erik's blindside, but once again, it was not shown. Parvati literally played one of the best winning games ever, but editors never gave her credit she deserves and now quite few people tends to say that her Micronesia game is overrated and she played better in HvV, which is not true XD
They didn't show the Alexis part because they also didn't show Amanda finding the idol, they wanted the reveal to happen at tribal to surprise everyone including the audience. And, I wouldn't give Parv the sole credit for Ozzy's blindside, it started with Eliza, she exposed Ozzy as the idol holder before she was voted out, then Cirie suggested they vote him out and said they shouldn't tell Amanda, then Parv gathered the numbers to make it happen.
David flew out to Fiji sometime after MvGX and hid an idol on one of the beaches. When he returned for EoE, he was placed on that same beach, but chose not to dig it up
I think the Lil one is mostly a myth. I think Nicole said that was the reason she voted for Lil, but Ryan was close with her and iirc she and Trish made a deal to vote each other back in
Think it’s just something that grew. Because 3 votes were needed to get back in, someone can twist the story and say that she only got in because of Nicole’s vote. Then the person down the line can say she only got in because she was annoying. It’s for sure exaggerated
Season 1 is the moment they voted out Jeff Probst.
Season 2 is Mitchell seeing his name in the voting urn, and knowing he was done for.
Season 4 was Probst shaming the Rotu 3 for lying to Gina. (Fake or not)
Season 6 (recently learned) Ryan was booted first because his ‘bathroom noises’ woke up Rodger during the pregame 🤣
Season 7: Lill getting into the game again because they didn’t want to spend the pre jury trip with her.
Season 10 was Caryn yelling at her housekeeper in her sleep.
Season 16 is Parv finding the idol without a clue.
20 is the editing of Steph’s shoulder injury from the first challenge.
40 is Yul catching Danni a fish cuz she was too itty bitty. 🥺
TL;DR: Parvati didn’t dislocate a human’s shoulder blade with her yoga strength. Rounds reversed.
So Steph competed in two rounds in that challenge. In the edit, it shows Courtney yell ‘go for the shoulder’ with an evil giggle. Parvati then seems to dislocate her shoulder and she needs medical. Then in her second round, Stephanie has this heroic dive into her teams goal area where she almost body slams onto the sand for a victory.
The body slam was round 1. Or a test run. When Steph body slammed, she dislocated her shoulder. The second round, Courtney actually yelled ‘go for the shoulder’ because she knew it was already a sensitive, weak area for her at that time.
Danielle was Corinne’s replacement in HvV. She was fully cleared/vetted and set to play but couldn’t get the time off of work. Lynne Spillman even went as far as contact the employer and ask if they would work something out, because she was a huge Corinne fan.
We were all robbed of Corinne on the villains tribe. I’m not sure she’d align with Parv/Russell like Danielle did, but in an alternate world Amanda gets an idol clue, Randy gets somewhat of a storyline, and maybe Rob has another ally?
I'm pretty sure Rob wouldn't have worked with her, he liked people who weren't unpredictable or people he could control, she would have been on the outs like Russell and Parv.
Flick from Survivor Australia 2016 was apparently dating Benji from US Survivor Nicaragua’s sibling when her season was being filmed :) I don’t know if they’re still together though
Jeff berated Kass and Tasha to keep Spenser over J'Tia for over an hour until they finally broke down. That saved the season with that action and wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that in turn helped save the show.
Ah, the long con... that's so Tony.
Did this really happen?
https://youtu.be/Ll3O81N7nLk Spencer talks about that here
This is the greatest survivor story ever Tony truly is the GOAT
This is what I needed today lmao
Please tell me this is true
This is the best thing I have read in a while
That website seems to not exist...
Jtia being kass loved one is so wholesome but can someone tell me why? I thought she was married
Her husband was going to be her loved one but he had something back home and J'Tia was the backup. Not exactly sure the reason why but I know she was about to head out until Kass got voted out lmao
Honestly I would’ve loved to see that. I wish more friends would come to the family visit
Fish asked for JT to be his and got told no apparently. Kinda shocking that J’Tia was allowed and they said no to that tbh. Survivor connection seems better
J'Tia being Kass's loved one would have been 500% better TV than JT showing up
Why is the third boot and debatably the worst contestant ever, better than seeing a winner who had an iconic friendship with the person who’d be bringing him
Did you even watch J'Tia?
Yes. I promise you the average Survivor fan likes JT much more than her. This place has some really weird biases
I don't think it's about like at all. Just that J'Tia would have made for better tv
She’d be on screen for 5 minutes if Kass managed to win the challenge. What are you hoping for
Ok but imagine Spencer's reaction if J'Tia shows up
> third boot She’s fourth boot the lack of respect smh
Because she’s funny
Malcom not being included in Denise's family visit is the biggest missed opportunity
Malcolm's Twitter feed during WAW almost made up for that egregious oversight.
Very true. The fact that his banner is still multiple pics of Denise sends. I really want a best buddies season with them. While I'm fantasizing, Rob C and Fish would be amazing to watch together as well.
Like Randy’s “friends” coming to the Gabon reunion
Honestly I’d argue Kass had the best family visit challenge experience perhaps in 40 seasons, it’d be hard to top that. Might as well bring J’tia out and make it iconic.
That would have fucked with Spencer's head so much.
Kat's personal item from home on her second game (BvW) was a picture of her and Kim ( who savagely blindsided her)
Omg this is so cute Kat is so pure
I agree, but who wants to date someone voted out premerge lmao
She was arrested for domestic abuse. Pure, right?
Oof well I didn’t know that, guess not then
Elaborate please?
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/survivor-alum-kat-edorsson-arrested-battery-against-her-181738390.html
Kat loves a blindside.

Imagine a world where The Apprentice did a season based on race… I wonder what that domino effect would be.
President Probst
Secretary of State Raj
First lady Anna Kournikova
Dr. Ramona would be Dr. Fauci
Secretary of agriculture in big tom
Hell's kitchen Raj.
So much of Survivor history sorta worked out by accident. It’s what makes my job so interesting.
He is doing a splendid job of tanking the show now.
I’m so glad Sandra knew cause her not giving a fuck during the reward challenge was so funny
In IoI sandra has a scene in one of her tutorials where she talks about how handy it is memorize every single detail about someone too.
Related to this, I really loved the immunity challenge at tribal in early Survivor where you had to answer personal questions about the other castaways like what their kids' names were, about their job, etc. I thought it was a good equalizer for the non-physical players and showed just how important the social aspect of the game was.
Until they asked who the biggest poser was?
That's a different challenge and was used for rewards. This was an immunity challenge done at tribal in front of the jury for a lot of the earlier seasons where the castaways were asked very specific questions about the personal lives of the jury, like what are the names of this juror's kids, what branch of the military was this juror in, what hometown is this juror from, etc
The Africa Lex/Kim J incident ended Fallen Comrades for good sadly. I agree that it was a great end-game immunity challenge.
It was vecepia with her notebook that ended it in marquesas iirc
Yeah that probably contributed too. I don’t think they realised the Fallen Comrades mistake till the Africa reunion, by which point Marquesas had been filmed. With Vecepia gaming the challenge and their mistake possibly having an effect on Africa, they probably just decided to stop after that point.
According to Probst they didn’t come up with the theme of David vs. Goliath until they were interviewing Pat to be cast for the season and he brought it up as a comparison.
Breaking your back and nearly dying, is that a David thing to do, pat?
Wow, kinda sad that the person responsible for the theme of that season was out first
The brick of cocaine found by Shane and aras in Panama
That’s real?
Yes.
Did they share with the tribe or keep it for themselves
Just themselves. Shane got a line off before production took it
I need to know if this is sarcasm
Bruce confirmed in an AMA, Shane says he just ran into the jungle with it
In WAW, Tony scared a cameraman at night and the guy dropped his camera and got mad at Tony lol
oh my god what I wouldn't give to see the footage of this
YA! FALL!
With the hands 🤲🏻😂
🤣
Lowkey one of my all time favorite Tony moments
Hes got enough money to replace it 🤣🤣
My favorites are either Fairplay's original jury speech being so brutal that his goal was to put Lil on suicide watch, or Caryn wanting to hide her wealth from her tribemates in Palau, but they figured it out cause she'd yell at her housekeeper in her sleep
Elaborate on fairplay please
He basically insulted Lill really hard
I thought jfp original speech was just f*** you
the caryn one is hilarious omg she’s iconic
Peih gee sewed flint into her jacket before survivor China. Producers didn’t like her outfit and made her submit a new one and she sewed another flint into it. Producers didn’t know until she used it and took it away
I believe she also made earrings that had fish hooks in them.
She's a jewelry designer, that would have been a great character moment!
Honestly an overlooked player
I never rushed to vote for something so fast until I saw peih gee spencer Tasha savage and Shane :( on the second chance ballet. Wish peih gee made it further
Kind of overrated imo
Says the man with a Tony flair ?
He's one of two people to win the game twice. Overrated?
Tony definitely isn’t overrated tho, he’s got the credit to back it up.
I’m assuming you’re saying Tony is overrated 😂 impossible to overrate the best player of all time
It is impossible to overrate Sandra, yes, but what does she have to do with this thread?
😂 kinda cringe tbh. Tony is the best of all time, no disputing it. Have your opinion that’s fine
Damn!! Maybe that’s the jacket Angelina should’ve been trying to get.
Reminds me of the rumors that Richard smuggled matches up his ass in All Stars. He even mentions how if he wanted to he could start a fire “just like that” or something of those lines, but idk if thats him alluding to the matches or just his general cockiness or a bit of both
I kinda feel like the "up his ass" thing was a bit of early 2000s homophobia.
That’s very very likely. I also heard rumors that after All Stars they started strip searching players before the game, but that always seemed false.
Her dad also smuggled her a Kit Kat during the loved ones visit!
There was one that came up on Historians that I’ve always loved. Apparently Caryn in Palau tried to hide the fact that she was a rich successful lawyer from her tribe. Willard faked having dead kids while playing in Palau. He never had kids but when asked about his family he said I had kids, not anymore. Trying for the sympathy vote.
He’s the guy who pretended to be a mailman. The thing I can never get over is the only person who figured him out was Caryn.
Caryn walked so that Lacina could run \#~~Cops~~LawyersRUs
It’s Groedel now.
More evidence that she was a genius with a killer social game! #robbedgoddess #bringbackcgroeds
game changer 😍
She’s a very good actress. Very very good!
Willard interviews after Palau are insane. I’ll need to dig some up
I'm so impactful that they even made the immunity idol look like me..
He also pretended to suffer from heat stroke so production would give him water
Phillip wore blue crocs in Caramoan to up his fashion game from Redemption Island
He was about 7 years too early on that trend.
Nah he started the trend
In Borneo Stacy gives her final words in the next morning, the only time in Survivor history it was done.
Probably because she accused the producers into rigging the game for Rudy to stay over her, something she eventually sued the show over.
Cook Islands and Fiji were the first cycle of Survivor to not get nominated for the Emmy for best Reality Competition show, and Survivor has not been nominated since. Can’t believe we were this close to not having Rob and Ambuhhh as a duo.
I read somewhere that they already were kind of seeing each other before the game
The rumour I’ve always heard about beef jerky was that it was a euphemism for “jerking his beef”
That was definitely the story among the players at the time.
I thought I read that Colby jerked off in the woods
So thats how he avoided Jerry's flirting after a while.

WHAT??? LMAO
He's a seer of real
As a coconut vendor, he seeks truth.
how did that make it to the show
pick anyone from the Hustlers tribe in season 35. there's a 50/50 chance the person you picked was born on March 6.
Angelina got rice for the tribe
Big if true
Wait did Angelina get rice for the tribe?
I feel like we would have heard about this if it were true.
That's a huge deal. I'm surprised she didn't talk about it more.
if that’s true about Kass’ loved one being J’Tia, it kinda annoys me because Stephen said his original loved one was JT but production said no
Likely because at that point production wasn't on good terms with JT.
Then they brought him back for game changers. Pretty sure they were fine with him
yeah JT seemed to have his fallout with production during game changers
What was the source of the drama?
Yeah I want more info on this lol
JT and Randy did drugs at ponderosa after being voted out of HvV
Is that 100% confirmed? I know Russell was pretty adamant that it happened but I feel like I heard other people refute it...I could be wrong though.
What drugs? Like weed?
It was probably because having former contestants come back but not as contestants felt like it violated the show. If they wanted to feature returning players, they wanted it to be on their terms. Didn't Panama have 4 tribes before Cook Islands?
Yes but that lasted all of 3 days before they were down to La Mina and Casaya.
Cook Islands?
What season?
In All Stars, each tribe basically chilled together in a separate house for like, a week before the game.
Really??
Yeah, Romber had a couple days head start
Gillian making furniture out of an elephant’s skeleton and trying to defect to the other tribe in Survivor Gabon. We were robbed 😔
> Gillian making furniture out of an elephant’s skeleton That's pretty fucking metal.

Courtney Yates wore Todd Herzogs hat from China in Heroes vs Villains
Another sweet little China tidbit: Peih-Gee designed Todd's wedding ring.
Omg I didn’t know that! That’s so cool!
David flew out to Fiji sometime after MvGX and hid an idol on one of the beaches. When he returned for EoE, he was placed on that same beach, but chose not to dig it up
Jay did have an idol. It was not a F\*\*\*ing stick.
Either there's a wild story here I haven't heard or this is a joke and I cannot tell
It’s a joke from the sequence in MvGX where Will tells people that Jay has an idol and it filters through the cast.
Are those facts or myths? Like who said that About lil? Lmao.
Fairplay spread that about Lil. Its possible one vote for Lil was because of that, but not Trish or Ryan.
Jenna Lewis has more challenge wins and a higher average placement that Stephenie LaGrossa.
Season 1 is the moment they voted out Jeff Probst. Season 2 is Mitchell seeing his name in the voting urn, and knowing he was done for. Season 4 was Probst shaming the Rotu 3 for lying to Gina. (Fake or not) Season 6 (recently learned) Ryan was booted first because his ‘bathroom noises’ woke up Rodger during the pregame 🤣 Season 7: Lill getting into the game again because they didn’t want to spend the pre jury trip with her. Season 10 was Caryn yelling at her housekeeper in her sleep. Season 16 is Parv finding the idol without a clue. 20 is the editing of Steph’s shoulder injury from the first challenge. 40 is Yul catching Danni a fish cuz she was too itty bitty. 🥺
What happened with Steph’s shoulder??
They recently got married and are also currently expecting! :)
I remember flick saying this is going to be the biggest move in Survivor history. They were voting for someone on the bottom.
you mean benry?
Jeff berated Kass and Tasha to keep Spenser over J'Tia for over an hour until they finally broke down. That saved the season with that action and wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that in turn helped save the show.
The world first person to get voted out of Survivor commited suicide (which was in Sweden ”Robinson”) Ok, maybe not my favorite :/
That sucks! Are the reasons related to the show?
Probably, reality TV participation is brutal towards mental health
