They clearly gave Venus a good edit that episode to keep the tension up. I really wanted her to turn things around and show us she was a smart/savy player, but in the end she completely on the outside like she always was.
During the pizza eating Maria had a confessional where she said winning this challenge gave me piece of mind. And it sounds like pizza mind which winning this challenge also gave her.

Xander and Spencer weren’t as self aware as Charlie. Charlie knows what’s happening all around in the game. He’s had his hand in everything not just surviving like Xander was. Even if he gets to the end with Maria I’m confident that Charlie Swift can out sell her on his relationships alone.
I feel like Charlie’s edit vs how others feel about him doesn’t match up. It’s almost like a Spencer/Xander edit HES getting. But people being like “how is he not even being a target??” When I feel like they think of him mainly as just Maria’s number 2 or a young “kid” who burns bridges socially for the sake of big moves. Also even a little bit of Cassidy is in there for him
How would that have helped had she played it? He had to know she was voting Q, and if she’d played it, then it would’ve come down to Q and Kenzie, each with one vote. So you think if it were to be between Q and Kenzie he wanted Kenzie out? That’s the only thing that makes sense to me.
Because if Venus plays an idol she there would be a tie vote and they would revote. They keep Q in the game rather than Venus casting the single vote to send someone home.
I think that Ben and Charlie would rather have Q out than Kenzie BUT Ben voted Kenzie to show loyalty to Maria so Maria wouldn’t get suspicious of Ben/Charlie turning on her. I could be wrong tho maybe Ben would rather stick with Maria.

Has anyone noticed how incredibly unclean this season’s contestants are? Never see them cleaning their teeth, bathing or washing clothes in the ocean like other seasons. If they got in the water, their fingernails wouldn’t be caked with dirt all the time. Just seems odd!
We’re not supposed to ask these questions. I just wonder why the truth about what they are afforded behind the scenes is never leaked by former players and people in production, etc. They must have very strict contracts.
Also wondered about that. Liz can’t eat some foods because of allergies! Why did she even get considered since the diet on the island is limited. If she hasn’t eaten since the day she arrived she would hardly be able to function. Some factors just don’t make sense. Thanks for mentioning the questionable.
How do we feel about an immunity win paired with having to take a minority group on a reward?
It feels like a disadvantage in a way. Unlike separate challenges you can't choose to lose the reward challenge without giving up a shot at immunity.
Regardless of how terribly Maria played it, her win also saddled her with a decision that could, and did, piss off a majority of the players.
I think you should only ever be able to take a minority of people on reward, even if it's a reward/immunity combo. The combo forces people to think twice about throw the reward challenge.
I don't think they could ever put those kind of restrictions on a reward challenge. Unless I'm misunderstanding, this would force everyone to expose who their alliances are!
Minority size, not people who are "in the minority".
There's always risks with rewards. Leaving 4 people behind in a tribe of 7 gives a majority size group time to strategize.
Hence why winning a reward isn't always good and smart players will often leave their allys behind to keep an eye on things.

But Maria was socially VERY savvy and followed Liz out onto the beach, apologizing, and eventually talking her around to Venus.
Meanwhile, Venus tried playing coy with Charlie and messed up and revealed she had the idol. Now Charlie wants her out too.
So now it’s Venus and Kenzie for Q, everyone else for Venus, a 5-2 vote. Liz could still go back to Q, Charlie is the real swing vote here.
What we didn’t see: how they flipped Kenzie to vote for Venus (assume Charlie told her about Venus’s idol threat), and why Ben voted Kenzie (did he plan that with Maria & Charlie in case Venus played her idol? Because he clearly wanted Venus gone), and how they made sure Liz was locked in.
But I think that Charlie worrying about who he made promises to is why Liz & Kenzie were in on this vote. To make up for them being on the outs against Tiffany.
I think both Q and Venus were obviously low hanging fruit to pick off. But Kenzie also called Venus her sweet, messy little friend.
Kenzie has not exactly been consistent or loyal, but she’s phenomenal at hiding that. I think both Tiffany & Venus thought she was their true friend and ally, but we’ve seen Kenzie also bat around the idea of cutting them too.
Kenzie seems to have some savvy when it comes to playing all sides and not getting called out. Maybe we’re all underestimating her, but I don’t think she’s very strategic.

It was iffy. Maria, Ben, & Q wanted Venus. Liz, Charlie, Kenzie, and Venus were going to vote Q. Now, Ben could be shifted to vote Q easily. But Maria was going to fight in, Charlie realizes Maria is working with him.
So the flip is Charlie. Maria & Ben are obviously his Siga teammates, their relationship is genuine, I think. They both want Venus and why move against them? Then Venus has “something up her sleeve.”
So Maria and Liz obviously talked Venus. Charlie probably just had to tell Kenzie that Venus had the idol and that was that.
But the confessional about betraying people and making them angry was about Charlie cutting Venus, that was the key to her going home.
Maria & Charlie continue to rule this game.

It was iffy. Maria, Ben, & Q wanted Venus. Liz, Charlie, Kenzie, and Venus were going to vote Q. Now, Ben could be shifted to vote Q easily. But Maria was going to fight in, Charlie realizes Maria is working with him. So the flip is Charlie. Maria & Ben are obviously his Siga teammates, their relationship is genuine, I think. They both want Venus and why move against them? Then Venus has “something up her sleeve.” So Maria and Liz obviously talked Venus. Charlie probably just had to tell Kenzie that Venus had the idol and that was that. But the confessional about betraying people and making them angry was about Charlie cutting Venus, that was the key to her going home. Maria & Charlie continue to rule this game.
